New Hope — Chapter 7, Part 1 (Patreon)

Update: Since the recent delays have impacted the progress and release schedule for Chapter 7 Part 2 - we will be working at a new official timeframe. The latest New Hope update is officially here for Early Access, and this time we're doing things a little differently.

Chapter 7 is being released in two parts.

As New Hope has grown, so has the amount of work that goes into every update. The story now branches across three increasingly different routes, with more choices, more variations, more artwork, and a whole lot more coding needed to make sure everything works properly.

The rest of Chapter 7 has already been written, but there's still artwork to create and plenty of coding left to do before the full chapter is ready.

Rather than keeping Part 1 locked away while all of that happens, we decided...

Why make you wait?

So we're releasing Chapter 7: Part 1 now for Early Access, with Part 2 arriving in three weeks! 🎉

👀 A Change to Early Previews

We're also going to be shifting how Early Access previews work going forward.

Originally, these releases were supposed to be exactly that: an early, behind-the-scenes look at an update while it's still being developed.

Over time, though, they slowly became something closer to a 99% finished release that you simply got access to a little earlier.

And we want to bring things back to what Early Access was always meant to be.

Going forward, you'll be invited into the development process a little earlier. That means getting to experience sections of the game while the wider update is still being built, rather than waiting until practically everything is finished before you see it.

Think of it as getting a little closer to the workshop over here.

Of course, if you'd rather wait and experience Chapter 7 as one complete update, you absolutely can! The finished Chapter 7 experience will be available in three weeks' time. ❤️
