Jujutsu Kaisen: S1E17 | Reaction & Review | “Sisters battle time!” (Patreon)

The Kyoto Goodwill Event continues with a brutal sibling showdown: Maki vs. Mai. Beneath the clashing weapons lies years of resentment—Mai resents Maki for abandoning her to the toxic Zen'in clan alone, while Maki is hellbent on becoming clan head to burn the whole rotten institution down.

It's a fight where every strike lands emotionally: Mai reveals she never wanted to be a sorcerer, and Maki's dream effectively cursed her twin to a life she hated. By the end, neither truly wins—just two sisters bleeding out years of family trauma while their classmates watch, realizing the Zen'in name carries weight neither sister asked for.
