"Familiar Problems" Character Intro (3) BJÖRN (Patreon)

The deeds of legendary heroes are always told… but rarely what becomes of them after their story’s end.

The prince once heard of a terrible beast dwelling deep within a cave, attacking anyone who dared draw near. It was no ordinary monster, but a corrupted shadow of its former self.

The prince’s goal was to slay the creature once and for all. Yet, before landing the final blow, he glimpsed a faint spark within—a soul still resisting the corruption. Compassion stayed his hand. Instead of destroying the beast, he purified its body, releasing the bear trapped inside.

The bear then told his tale: once a hero, but long ago consumed by loneliness and despair. That darkness twisted him into a monster, one who had taken many innocent lives. He wished to pay with his own life as penance.

The prince agreed… but offered him another path: redemption.

To wield his strength not for destruction, but to save lives and protect others from despair.

Moved, the bear accepted. From that day forth, he became the prince loyal familiar, now named: Björn.
