Final Update Before Chapter 04 Release? (Patreon)

Hey everyone! Here’s another progress update for Chapter 04, and possibly the last one for this chapter. 😮

You all know I’m transparent with you, and the truth is… I still have a LOT of dialogue to write, because up until recently, I was focusing 100% on the visual side of the game (images, scene pacing, details, backgrounds and more).

Focusing fully on the visuals gave me a big advantage in improving the overall look and putting more effort into the scenes, but it also made me a bit rusty on the creative writing side, haha! 😅

So yeah, I’m having a bit of trouble progressing with the dialogue, but overall I’m managing. I’ve mentioned before that part of the chapter will be more of a “normal daily routine,” which also makes it harder to come up with super exciting dialogue, but I’m giving it my all.

Either way, I’m confident that the “visual scenes” will more than make up for anything! 😈

About the release date: I’ll TRY to release the new chapter starting around the 21st. But honestly, I’m not sure I can finish it by then, and right now the commissioned animations are still not ready, so I’m depending on both of those things.

The only thing I’m 100% sure about is that I will finish everything by August 31st. Would it be a shame if I can only release it at the end of the month? Yeah, for sure. But I’d rather wait a little longer and deliver a QUALITY product than make an incomplete release. You guys know how it is (some of you even more than I do), and you know that an incomplete release is a shot in the foot.

And the last thing I want to say in this post is that after releasing the new chapter, I’ll be RUSHING straight into the small remake of the early chapters (and probably all of the backgrounds). I’ll try to get it done in about 3 weeks (even though the roadmap says up to 9), because I want to start working on Chapter 05 as soon as possible. I know it’s going to be big and challenging.

Take your time if you manage to get it out early thats great but if not its not the end of the world, the most important thing is its fully finished and not rushed i belive! Also very cute and wholesome pic you made for the update :)

Hellen deserves a little love too Yeah, I've done a few polls here before and people always seem to prefer waiting a bit longer to get the fully finished product, or they just support whatever decision I make Still, for the next few days, I'll be running on Monster, sleeping and waking up thinking about dialogues and code!

Thanks for the update! Super excited to see what you’ve got in store, but fully agree that you should take your time. It would be a shame if it came out at the end of the month, but it would be a bigger shame if it came out earlier and had some weak writing.

It's always about the story first. Then choices and paths. Artwork/anims are a close third, but it's how the relationship develops or fails that sells it or tanks it. Take the time you need to write the story.

Personally I like subtle stuff, lots of teasing, did she or didnt she do somthing, maybe we mishurd, or thought we saw something, the whole time teasing and even gas lighting us for fun.

Exactly. I know the game will never have SUPER AMAZING writing, Shakespeare-level or anything like that… but the least I can do is deliver a good story with dialogues that are at least interesting enough to be worth reading

Me too! Since the beginning of the game, we've had several of Ana's lines that can be interpreted in two different ways, and I'm going to keep it that way in Chapter 04 😜

My thinking too. Very fee AVNs I’ve played have exceptional writing, but having bad writing is what will immediately make me delete one. Your writing has been pretty good compared to others I’ve played so far, and it’s a bigger shame reason why My True Desire is so enjoyable.

Please don't! LOL... I'm not counseling or passing judgement, I'm just old and experienced enough to have an educated opinion! And I'm a writer, so my bias is obvious. But when you compare what you do vs. the rest, the "bar setters" sell the story, not the pics. Le Stag is bringing in $4k plus a month with Netorase Phone. Minimal artwork, great story, simple UI and now is adding choices and paths that weren't covered before, hybridizing the NTS kinks with potential harem choices. Not going down the dark rabbit hole rather but opening up many more sexy possibilities. And needing fewer resources to be successful. Don't stress, just write well and you do you :-)
