Hey everyone, how's it going? Today I decided to bring a different kind of post, a bit more detailed and with teasers for all paid members! 💯

First, I'd like to talk a little about the rework of the first chapters:

At first, I honestly thought it would be something simple and quick to do, but as I went deeper back into Chapter 01, I realized how amateur it was, haha!

The story's content and dialogues left quite a lot to be desired, and although the art was striking and looked nice from a distance, it had many errors or could be much better!

Two good examples to show this are the scene where Ana kisses the MC before they head back home, and the scene where Ana is taking off her clothes. Without going too deep into technical aspects, you can notice that the composition, anatomy, and character poses now make much more sense (and if you don't notice these things, you'll at least feel that for some reason the new art looks way more 'wow!')

The same goes for several dialogues, but even so, I'm going to keep about 95% of the dialogues intact, otherwise the remake/remaster would end up being much bigger (and slower) than it should be.

Remaking the first chapters has been bringing me a huge joy seeing my evolution, and because of that my motivation for the next chapters has grown even more! I know now I'll be able to create the complex scenes I've been planning, and I can't wait to share them with you. ❤️

Another topic I'd like to discuss and hear your opinion about is the community and Patreon.

To be straightforward, despite the significant growth in followers and supporters, we haven't had much growth in interactions (comments, likes, and discussions/chatting). On top of that, the fact that about 90% of the supporters who joined in August (Chapter 04 release) canceled their subscriptions left me really worried.

It's normal for people to subscribe just to get access to a new chapter's release, but usually the cancellation rate is around 50-60%. So I'd like to know your opinion about this. Am I doing something wrong, or was Chapter 04 really that bad? 🥺 Leave your thoughts in the comments!

I think that's it for now. Later this week I'll launch a lighthearted poll just for fun, and further ahead I'll update you with release dates and other things I promised for this update.

A big hug to you all!

Vin

recently joined but I think Ch4 is pretty solid, don't worry

JS

I think Chapter 4 is fine enough, but it did feel short, with mostly dialogue. While I wouldn't call that bad by any measure it's certainly a bit light on the main events people are usually looking for in these games.

Saturation might be a thing, there have been a lot of games around the same genre or fetish that have cropped up over the last 3-6 months. Not all of the same quality mind, but all of them have the subscribe to patreon early release model. For some I imagine, they might want to play each game's release as soon as possible, but being subscribed to them all at the same time can get quite expensive. In terms of content and quality, I wouldn't worry it's been thoroughly enjoyable so far. 😊

There is nothing to change in Chapter 4 for me. It was truly perfect. Of course, compared to Chapter 3 which was very action-packed, Chapter 4 feels slower. But I think that’s exactly what makes it so important — if you want the story to feel well-paced and not rushed, you need chapters like this one to build the plot. For me, Chapter 4 was essential and there’s nothing I would criticize about it. As for the sudden drop in Patreon supporters, my personal hypothesis is that it might not be related to the quality of Chapter 4 at all. Since you announced that your focus will next be on the remaster of Chapter 1, people probably realized that Chapter 5 would take more time to arrive, so they didn’t see the point in staying subscribed during that period. That could explain why the cancellation rate was higher than usual. I know it’s hard not to take those numbers into account, but I think it would be a shame if you changed your way of storytelling because of that. The way you’re pacing the story is exactly what makes it so good, and I hope you’ll keep trusting your vision.

It's kinda of funny that you posted something like this today because I was gonna suggest adding some kind bonus for the patreons that stay. Maybe exclusive content, beta testing release, Easter eggs, eta. Something that might keep people to stay. Oh and the redo's look great, man! I don't how you do it but it definitely looks better. Maybe add some upskirt shots in chapter 1 !? 😅😈

DTZ Games

Yeah, you brought up an important point that I kept questioning myself about, which is the impact of a remaster I personally imagined that the cancellation rate would stay the same, and that people would just not subscribe when I release version 4.5, but I didn't expect the cancellation rate to be much higher And another important point you mentioned is the pacing of Chapter 04, which is much slower. "Chapter 04 was slower and the next update isn't going to be a new chapter? I'll cancel and wait to subscribe again" Not gonna lie, it makes sense

DTZ Games

Thank you so much, but don't feel pressured to upgrade just because of the post! And enjoy the new benefits! ❤️

JerKZ

I only unsubscribed because i can't spend bunch of money on this while supporting multiple other developers.

DTZ Games

I didn't really take that part about other creators into consideration, but it makes total sense! I remember that right after I released the new chapter, a wave of new updates from NTR/S games came out, and thinking about it now, that definitely has an influence Personally, I follow around 10 games from the NTR/S genre and some other vanilla ones, and it's really impossible to pay to subscribe to all of them. And the same logic applies to regular games as well

DTZ Games

Thanks for speaking up! Your comment helps reinforce the idea that people have been mentioning. More and more good games are being released, and for us who are following along, it's impossible to support them all at the same time

JerKZ

Im glad you understand and i really enjoy your content.

DTZ Games

Hehe, thank you so much, man! Honestly, I'd totally do that, but it's pretty complicated to add that kind of thing here on Patreon because it's not really possible to know who has been subscribed for a long time 🥹 One of the things I wanted to add since the very first day I created the account was a discount for those who are ALREADY subscribed, but Patreon doesn't have that option (they only give that option for people who aren't subscribed), and I think that's absurd. The closest thing to it would be the discount if you subscribe for 12 months, but in my opinion that's way too long And dude, you actually gave me a good idea! I'll see if I can add an extra picture of Ana's panties when they're at the park

The rework just for those two scenes look incredible. Genuinely worlds of difference in terms of quality. As for not doing most of the dialogue in order to not let it drag out, I completely agree with the decision. That said, I would suggest if you do think it could be a whole lot better, maybe do it in small segments along with each of the coming chapters? Maybe split Chapter 1 into five or six portions, rework the dialogue for portion 1 with chapter 5’s release, so on from there. I suggest it because probably my favourite AVN Artemis, the developer had some eye procedures done after the first release and has been going back to rework some scenes with each update to increase the quality, and even if this is a smaller scale project, it could be useful. As for the patreon, I’m not too sure what else could reasonably be done. You make weekly updates, share what you’re working on, and give some shots to show what it looks like. The only thing I could think of causing the sharper decline would be that, at the end of the day, this is an adult game. Seeing as how the last update was narrative focused (which I enjoyed, and I’m sure many others did too), and now you’re going into a small rework rather than straight into a nee chapter, some people might be a bit disappointed by the lack of lewds.

DTZ Games

Thank you so much for the comment, brother! And honestly your idea of doing it in segments is a great one! Too bad I'm already closer to finishing the remake, so I don't think it would be a good idea to release the updates split up at this point. But for sure it's something to keep in mind for the future 🫡 And yeah, the conclusion I'm coming to is that the points you mentioned, along with what other people have said, have a MUCH bigger impact than I imagined "Chapter 04 was more focused on the story, the next update won't be a new chapter, and several other good games with more advanced stories are releasing updates... I'll wait until Chapter 05 comes out to subscribe again"

Yamamoto

That is true, I didn’t even consider the other AI NTS recent releases. And yeah, I’d definitely say for the rework to release it all in one go now, but if you find yourself looking back and wanting to adjust again in the future, just something to keep in mind. Regardless, I’m confident when Chapter 5 comes that there will be another uptick in subscriptions, personally MTD is my favourite in this genre, and I’m super excited to see what comes next now that we’ve gotten through the revealing portion of the story. Keep up the good work!

DTZ Games

Exactly! And thanks, man. For me it's an honor

DTZ Games

Yeah, I agree I think people are going to get way more hyped when the heavier NTS scenes come in

Lot's of possibilities, covered well in the comments. This genre in general is problematic to keeping interest. The original story gets clouded as corruption increases.. fact of life. And to advance a narrow storyline like this, it almost has to get dark and those looking for "fun" get turned off. In addition to the endless competition, multiple subscriptions, unforseen delays, people looking for specific kinks, etc. a dev almost has to cater to the percentages to stay solvent and that means harem style, with a VERY good story. It's why there are so many independent devs doing this, as opposed to almost full studios doing harem with dynamite writers. A couple devs out there are making $8k-9k a month, $2k the next month. Then they pay taxes, buy hardware, buy assets, buy help. While the studio devs are bringing in $10-20k plus. Assets and artists are often free. And their development times are obscenely quick comparatively. These are hard numbers, just based off Patreon. You're not doing "this" wrong, you're just doing what's almost impossible to maintain interest in. Watch Le Stag's numbers between releases. It's an amazingly austere AVN with very little art and almost zero animation, but he nailed the story. It doesn't deviate into the NTR stuff much even if some of the harder core fetishists call for it. And it is constantly near the top in subscription earnings monthly. But one wrong step down the rabbit hole could change that in 30 days.

MulleDullen

I wouldn’t worry too much about the subscriber fluctuations—it’s pretty common for audiences to pop in around chapter releases and then step back until the next update. It doesn’t reflect the quality of your work at all! Chapter 4 was fantastic, by the way. I especially love how you’ve kept the focus on the couple’s intimacy and connection; it makes the other, more exploratory moments feel even more meaningful and impactful. The rework also looks incredible—it’s clear how much care and passion you’re pouring into this game. Keep it up! 🥰

Elfgar The Clubfoot

Love the game. Keep up the great work. The only way I can see increasing the stability of your client base would be to increase the release rate so that dropping and rejoining doesn't affect cost, i.e., 1 release per month. I suspect that most won't have the willpower to hold out and update every other release to maintain the cost they are getting with drop/rejoin currently. Of course, each release has its own development overhead which would be increased and having to put out smaller arcs might not feel as awesome for the player as the current, very satisfying "full" arc deliveries you've done so far. I also suspect that it would reduce the long term "how much story per month" we get as well. Some one else mentioned an extra level of rewards based on continuous patronage. This is certainly a less disruptive tack that should be a lot easier and less painful to implement although it won't have the same drawing power. Overall, I would hate to see the quality and enjoyment level suffer due to a radical change in how you are doing things but delivering product every month is the only way that I can think of to keep the clients continuously in the Patreon monthly payment model. As a fellow developer I can relate to the satisfaction of increased productivity of longer releases since they equate to more uninterrupted development time. Best of luck with this balancing act.

I think so too, I don't think this is cause for alarm or anything even though it does suck. People want the sex scenes and this was sparse. Another thing to note is that people may also not enjoy a chapter so much when their favorite character isn't in it. I was looking forward to seeing more Gabi as she's my favorite, and couldn't help be a bit sad when she was more or less missing from this one. I can see why for some people that's a reason to cancel, but you also can't just warn people "Hey XYZ Character isn't in this chapter btw!" Cause then they skip it altogether. Tough problem to solve :(

JS

I'm trying to subscribe to them all haha, send the list :D

JS

One solution I've seen OF people do for this is to release bonus content at completely random intervals to those with recurring subs. Could do something similar here. Sure, some people will be lucky and happen to have just subbed when something comes out, but as long as it's not at a regular predictable day of the week/month etc it will incentivize some people to stay

jay

Hoping you add more SFX to the updated chapters. Adding some more phone teasing would add more dimension to the NTRS

Cornucopiac

Honestly, I feel like it might be the revamping of earlier chapters instead of working on new chapters that caused people to unsub. I'm staying because I love the content and want to see future chapters, but I may be among a few people who are willing to wait for future chapters.

LochMess

For me, ch4 was decent, but it wasn't as good as some of your previous chapters, it just kinda felt like a ch3.5, but also, as some of the others have said, its no new content for a while, I'll prob lower my tier to keep up support, but personally I'm fine with how the game looks, could it look better, sure, but as a creator myself, it can always look better. Personally I think there should be a focus on progressing the game, and maybe small touch ups as you do, one scene at a time maybe, but as it is, if I add up how much I'll be paying each month until new content comes out, that's how much I'm paying for that new content, it sets a higher expectations thats maybe a bit unreasonable to have. So lowering my tier would be best.

DTZ Games

I totally understand that. You mentioned that chapter 4 feels like 3.5, and that actually makes sense, because in my mind the events of Chapter 04 were supposed to be in 03 (but obviously 03 would have been gigantic, so there was no way to do everything in just one)

DTZ Games

That makes total sense, and it's one of the things people mentioned the most. Another thing to take into consideration is that many creators make mistakes when redoing old content, so I believe the audience already gets a bit skeptical from the start

DTZ Games

I'll add more SFX, but no TOO many

DTZ Games

Thank you so much for the comment, man. For me it would be impossible to make a new Chapter each month, but I'm looking into other ways to keep the audience more engaged and for longer

DTZ Games

Thank you so much! ❤️ I was a little worried about these things, but I can already say that now I'm much more at ease

DTZ Games

One of the things I notice (especially with other creators) is that people keep waiting for X thing to happen, and if it doesn't, they come down hard on the developer It's complicated

M.pat

Don’t worry about the drop in subscriptions, it’s totally normal, and I’m sure people will come back later on. The updates you’re making to the earlier chapters look really good. About Chapter 4, I think it was a solid chapter in terms of both story and technical stuff, but personally, I felt it was missing one or two more spicy scenes. One idea I had was when Ana leaves alone in the Uber/Taxi, maybe there could’ve been a bit of teasing there or something. Maybe something like that could be added in version 4.5. Keep up the great work, you’ve got an awesome story going!

AbjectlyCasey

Complicated is... polite! LOL. You become a slave to your most extreme subs because they tend to push hardest, you become a slave to other dev's expectations just based on how they present the trope, or you become a slave to the majority who want to feel good at the end of the story without the emotional drama. And if you write it the way you want is it worth making 5 cents an hour for hundreds of hours spent? All you can do is set a hard edge that you won't go past and focus on your story. If you lose that or kill a relationship the story revolves around then it's just smut for the sake of it and anybody can do that. I wish you the very best!

RagnaRock

I think a lot of people will come back, and new people will come, it's only a matter of time, I'll say more, I'm a sinner (Now there will be recognition like in an Italian restaurant) , because I use pirated files, but if it weren't for them, I wouldn't have known about you, and what we have, I'm here because I was touched by your work, In my defense, I can only say sorry, and I promise to support you for a long time, I am sure that there will be many people like me HERE.♥️ (p.s. All chapters is amazing, And in the fourth, you reveal a very strong theme of how much they understand each other, it had to be done and you paid a lot of attention to it, and I think it's great, because you put your heart and soul into them, don't think about the bad, all is awesome😊)

NTRISM

100%, other projects have also done this and it seemed to stall out the production quite a bit.

DTZ Games

Thank you so much, man! I'm really happy with your support and your comment But there's no need to apologize for that. I believe most people end up discovering the game that way, and that's totally fine!
