This post was inspired by seeing Barracuda say that English isn't his first language. Coulda fooled me, he speaks English very well.

So what I'm curious about is how many of you speak more than one language because I think that is really cool. So if you want to, lemme know how many languages you speak and what they are. Just curious.

Also, is there anybody who can speak another language but not read it or visa versa? I've heard that can happen.

I'm Hispanic so I grew up hearing a lot of Spanish throughout my life. I rarely have to speak it, but I can. And English of course.

I guess I just have to comment. I speak Russian, Greek and English. I personally have a thing with languages where I know them partially. For example, I can understand most people speaking English because people usually use a limited vocabulary. But if I open literature, I start to have difficulties understanding sentences and find a lot of words that I have never seen before. I guess that's what you call a "skill issue". This probably depends on how you learn the language and how often you see/hear/use certain words. Most of the English that I learned was by watching youtube videos/movies.
