I didn't find prushka's death that sad either. As you said, they should've shown us all those flashbacks before killing her off, I have no clue why they put them after. Then again it was pretty obvious she was dead (or a cartridge) from about half way through the film so they didn't have much time to put the flashbacks in before then. Checking the manga again, they made this decision in the source material too (the chapter with all this flashback material is after her cartridge is ejected). Nanachi got the blessing because her friend loved her so much, I think the villain in this was raising his "daughter" to love him so that the same thing would happen (unlike with the usual cartridges). The manga does a better job of explaining all the relics Bonedrewd has including the one that lets him fly.

They should have introduced her character when they did the Nanachi flashbacks and introduced Papa. He was such a great villain in part because we met him before this movie. Her death would have hit harder if they did the same thing, and she would have served as a nice parallel to Nanachi's story in those flashbacks.

There is second season after this movie, and we are still waiting for continuation. The second season is called "Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun".

are you gonna react to the season 2 of this eventually?

This was sponsored, and the sponsor chose not to continue because "It sucks from this point forward" lmfao. So its not in my plans LOL

That's a shame I actually enjoyed s2, funny that some don't. Considering its overall the higher rated season I think its a vocal minority. S1 averaged 8.1 while S2 averaged 8.4. The movie got a solid 8.0. What would you rate it / the movie. S1 had more shock value, while S2 is more detailed, although a bit slower. I felt the movie was a mixture of both. I wonder where you would have landed considering how much you liked S1.

I think the movie was as good as the first season. As for the rest, one of these days I want to watch Season 2. I'll fit it in somehow

That would be awesome, I'll check it out whenever you decide to! Crazy S3 has been in limbo for such a long time. I suppose they rather wait for the manga then come up with their own crap, which is understandable.
