The bad news is this post is 6 days late.

The good news is I've watched up through episode 10 and those posts are already scheduled so it won't happen again any time soon. I could drop dead today and you'll still get the next 6 episodes.

I’m not sure if how Mayuri uses her name instead of “I” is different, excessive, or unusual, I did find out that using your own name (referring to yourself in third person) is acceptable in Japanese- maybe subtitles (and the English dub) choose to translate it that way because it helps add to her “space cadet” air- I don’t think she’s necessarily stupid, she probably has more or less average intelligence, but she is kind of “spacey,” and I think does seem pretty “simple” because we’re comparing her to the “geniuses” she’s surrounded by (Daru is an excellent hacker, Okabe is really smart, and Kurisu is probably smarter/an actual genius) imo

Ariel

Also, I could be wrong, but I think RaiNet is an in universe game (probably similar to some real world trading card games or something along those lines)

ShadowDog Productions

That is very interesting about how other cultures view the speaking of yourself in the third person thing

Kenny Tran

Okabe's VA is one of my favs his name is Mamoru Miyano and his versatility is crazy! Not sure if you remember Chrollo from HunterxHunter (the leader of the phantom troupe) but he voiced acted for him as well and you'd never expect it with how goofy and non serious he sounds voicing Okabe. Not sure if you remember Gilthunder as well from seven deadly sins since theres a whole bag of characters so its hard to remember but he also voice acts for Gilthunder as well

ShadowDog Productions

You're right, he's awesome. I talk about it at some point in these 8 episodes I did yesterday. his range is incredible. The way he can switch from serious to comedic in the same line of dialogue is insane

17:26 I completely missed this message the first time I watched anime.
