There were hints about Escanor liking Merlin from when he was first introduced- his bar was named “My Sweet Gluttony” in honor of her- and now we know that her sin of gluttony is because she’s a glutton for knowledge, and she’s stopped her own time in order to have plenty of time to pursue it- the commandments recognizing her true name/identity means that she’s been around since at least before they were sealed 3000 years ago

The only commandments we know for sure are dead/out of commission are Fraudrin who was just killed by Meliodas, Greyroad who was captured by Merlin, and Galand who is still stone from breaking his own commandment. I think you’re right that the “emotions” Meliodas loses when he dies are the more positive “human” ones- he killed Fraudrin in a pretty cold way, even with Griamore protesting- we can’t know for sure, but it’s possible that he might have come over to the human side, or at least not been actively against them anymore

I’m pretty excited for season 3- though I will reiterate that the animation takes a huge hit (maybe not every episode, but some vital ones were very disappointing)- and to add insult to injury, there is also some censorship- blood is white instead of red- it doesn’t last the entire season, I don’t remember when it stops being there, but it’s very apparent in the first few episodes

There's a movie between season 2 and 3, and it flopped pretty hard in japan that animation studio have to sell the anime to another studio, hence season 3 is pretty poor animation quality, but the story is pretty amazing. there are censorship such as censoring blood and a huge decrease in sexual harassment such as main character groping elizabeth. This anime is one of those few anime that had better rating outside of japan than in japan.
