To counter what you were saying about how Diane would just come back by making a significant enough change/different choice (which does make sense, and I agree with your reasoning), Gloxinia also said that there was a chance they could have died in the trial before they even reached the point of the pivotal decision for each of them- so even though it would have been in a moment where Gloxinia or Drole obviously didn’t die, it means that King or Diane could at any given point- which could mean up to and including Diane choosing to die instead of becoming a commandment- instead, she came back because she made the choice that Drole had just told King that no “proper” member of the Giant race would ever do- to run away

I’m thinking that the flashback to 45 years ago and Gowther waking up under the castle where Nadja was exploring was implied that he was unconscious/knocked out since 3000 years ago when the other Gowther did whatever he did to end the Holy War and he ended up dying- Gowther recognized what was left of the Fairy King Forest and calculated that 3000 years had passed- so presumably after what happened with Nadja was the first time he erased his own memories

Also, you might not remember- but last season when it was revealed that Gowther was a doll (after he was stopped from manipulating Guila and changing her and her brother’s memories) they had Diane ask Meliodas if he knew that Gowther was a doll, and he said that it was his first time hearing about it- yet here, he says he knew all along and that he knew the mage/wizard who made Gowther- I think maybe he just didn’t want to talk about the demon race/commandments/etc at the time, but it does establish that he could/would pretend to know less than he actually does- up until the second Vaizel festival and the showdown with the commandments there, he always dodged/deflected when Ban (in season 1) and King (in season 2) questioned him about being part of the Demon race

I think the guards charging in to Nadia’s room was believable- the noise they heard coming from her room was Gowther crying out (which didn’t sound like her and thus would be suspicious), and as you said, what they saw looked really bad

Maybe youre noticing a pattern with the seven deadly sins, each one of them was falsely accused of commiting a grave crime of one of the seven deadly sins. Gowther (Lust) was accused for murdering Nadia when all he really did was try to put his heart inside her already dead body. Meliodas(Wrath) was accused of nuking Danafall out of wrath when it was just the giant purple demon that did it 20 years ago. Ban(Greed) was accused of drinking all of the holy water that grant eternal life when it was just his girlfriend that forced him to drink it. King(Sloth) was accused for abandoning the fairy forest when he was just chasing after another fairy before losing his memories. Diane(Envy) was accused of killing Matrona out of envy when it was just bunch of humans setting up a trap, and later we found out Matrona was alive the whole time. I think they havent shown the flashbacks for Merlin(Gluttony) and Escanor(Pride) yet, though I might be wrong.

Meliodas did level Danafall when his rage overtook him- the next few episodes will give more details on the state Danafall was already in when that happened- and I would say King is technically guilty, but his amnesia is a strong extenuating circumstance- but yeah, overall the “sins” were mostly false or misconstrued
