Wow, what a blast from the past. I used to watch this a lot back then, because it debuted here in English around the same time as Naruto like 2005/2006. It's a fun bout of randomness.

Ol' Yellow Eyes

Wow I'm surprised someone would list this as the worst comedy anime of all time. It's a pretty legendary series in Japan, that's why it ran so long. Not only are there that many episodes, the comic ran even longer and it has multiple video games. This series ran in Shonen Jump alongside Naruto, One Piece and others series that you've watched. It's pretty respected among Japanese manga authors because it's such a brutal but loving satire of anime/manga and especially Battle Shonen. When Bobobo's author wanted to use the main character from Yu-Gi-Oh in a joke he had to ask permission from the creator (who also worked at Jump) and Yu-gi-oh's creator loved Bobobo so much he demanded to draw the page for Bobobo himself. I guess a lot of the jokes don't translate well though, like in this episode there's some wordplay you obviously didn't get because it was in Japanese. Though I know the English dub did their best to rewrite jokes to try and make them work so this might be a rare case where the dub is better. I think some of the humor in the show later on though does translate regardless though because some of it is just turning a battle shonen manga into a Loony Tunes cartoon where the funniest asshole wins the fight, not the strongest fighter.

every time I shit talk Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo someone tries to convince me the later episodes are better then I tell them the episode I watched and their last defense is always " well you have to be a certain time of your life for it to work" well then it can't be that good now can it?

I remember seeing ads for this series in the back of the manga I read growing up, I've never read it but the promo image is seared into my brain. It's crazy though, I've only heard good things about this series
