I have this personal fixation where I try and calculate what ending scenes would make for a perfect commercial break if it were to air on television. The end of the scene where Alex's mom cuts off Justines hair would've been perfect. It also helps that this is the end of Justine's segment in the movie.

I'm commenting as I'm watching this so you might've picked up on this later but the reason why the camera panned down to Archer's paint can's around the 25 minute mark of the video is because it's implied that he wrote witch on the side of Justine's car. Sidenot: I used to think that someone writing "Witch" on the side of Justine's care was a little on the nose and that "Bitch" would've porbably been more naturally from the character's POV, not necessarily from the film, but clearly Witch is a perfectly natural word for the characters since you jokingly called her character a witch before someone painted that on the side of her car and before you figured out the twist.

What are you saying at 49:46? You said something like: "That's why I find drug A super boring." Or something like that.

Alice Flagg

The irony of Wong being taken out by a witch... again.

It's implied or inferred by the little girl narrator that there weren't many people that had ring camera's. Archer and another family's were probably the ony one's or atleast the ones that Archer could get a hold of.

Curious if you think the introductions of character with their name on screen would be good coming out of commercial or whether that is too obvious and would disrupt the flow?

ShadowDog Productions

There was a joke just like this in Once Upon a Time with the Evil Queen and Snow White. It was equally subtle and I missed it until it was pointed out to me

ShadowDog Productions

You've reminded me of how awkward some of those commercial breaks would be when theatrical movies would be brought to TV

I thought this particular junkie was great character. Often, I find them as stereotypes..but he seemed super realistic.

ShadowDog Productions

He was great. I also noticed in editing he's the one outside the liquor story asking for money to go see his brother, which he tries to talk to on the phone. I didn't remember that when we see him later

You probably don't realise it since you haven't seen Fantastic Four yet but Julia Garner plays the silver surfer in that film. So have 3 actors in this film who've played Marvel characters: Josh Brolin (Thanos/Cable), Benedict Wong (Wong) and Julia Garner (SIlver Surfer).

oh I'll give some reasons to hate on this movie. So Paul walks into the house with a shotgun after arresting the junkie and then he gets turned. Where did the shotgun go? When they're trying to kill they use bare hands because obviously they don't have a gun (and the fork scene shows they are capable of using weapons) except Paul doesn't use the pistol he has for no explainable reason. All of Paul's chapter could be removed from the movie and the movie doesn't suffer at all as everything revealed in it that refers to the kids also is revealed in the junkie's chapter. So this movie could have been an hour 40 but they decided showing you this fuck ass cop was more important. it's like they wanted a movie that had interconnected plots like Magnolia so badly they forgot they were making a movie with an actual central story. "based on a true story" btw

ShadowDog Productions

That's a good point about Paul. As far as the zombies using tools or weapons though, I think it depends on their orders. Obviously the witch ordered them to use the forks in that scene, but maybe if they don't get specific orders they just use their hands. The movie isn't clear though that's true

Erik Christensen

He probably dropped it and didn't pick it up, same thing happened with the head of the school once he got turned. Just immediately dropped the phone in the kitchen. They just go nuts on a mission.

Erik Christensen

They're not really cunning after they get turned...just go crazy

I dont think this is one of the worst movies or one of the greatest i think its just good. I have 2 main issues with the film. the introduction of the witch was a little out of nowhere and should have been a little sooner. secondly the last scene of the film feels so absurd and funny. i dont know how i should feel about it. Should i be laughing? Does it fit the tone of the movie?
