Unable to watch the video for some reason. It gets stuck on infinite loading when I try to play it. The other Vimeo links worked for peacemaker and stuff so idk why this one isn’t

Jonah

Yeah works now but that was weird lol

Jonah

This episode is a psychological horror, huge lore dump, and big flashy final battle wrapped into one that basically is the base to which all of Nasu’s future works are built upon. Like with the Counter Force being the will of humanity, which also happens to record powerful humans throughout the ages outside of time to be used as servants, the Spiral of Origin/Root serving as the ultimate goal for all mages (the holy grail war was created as a means to access the root using souls to power the gateway). There’s so much lore and thought behind every aspect of all of Nasu’s series that I have trouble grasping it all lol, and yet he manages to keep it focused on the characters and philosophies as the driving force behind everything

Jonah

The concept of “mystery” (the force powering all magecraft and magic that loses potency the more is revealed through the scientific method) in this universe has always been my favorite version of an excuse as to why certain powers aren’t completely known/explained and non replicable between mages. Despite having a whole Clock Tower organization dedicated to teaching and researching magecraft, if they research too much into one field, the mystery there would be completely lost, rendering the magecraft useless

Jonah

This would probably also be my pick for favorite episode and by far the best adaptation of any Nasu work
