Look! Up in the sky! It's an origin story! https://youtu.be/eufZCsV7iI8

PS. The video I was reacting to at the end of this file got flagged by Youtube. It's allowing it for now but they could come back and block this video at any time. So if you're eager to watch this I suggest doing so ASAP. If it does get blocked, somebody lemme know in case I don't see the email and I'll put it on Google drive.

If you have to edit out the end part due to copyright then should I leave comments? Should I wait a few days or a week before leaving a comment ust incase you have to reupload it or will the comment be safe regardless?

Alice Flagg

So just to set the record straight, it's not a coincidence that Andrea Beaumont shares her first name with VA director Andrea Romano. Beaumont got the name from the Romano.

Even if it gets blocked I still have access to it so I can still see the comments of a blocked video. So worst case scenario I can always screenshot the comments and provide them to people with the new video. So we're covered either way I think. But waiting a couple days would probably be prudent since I suspect this was a computer flag which means a human will swing around soon and look at it

Alice Flagg

Not that it matters but I was interested in seeing your reaction to Andrea asking Bruce if they'll ever see a place like the futureland amusement park when Metropolis already exists, and is pretty much the spitting image of the park. It's like going to little Italy and asking if there will ever be a country like little Italy.

Man of Steel is actually a decent movie inspite of some of it's flaws and how divisive it is. I might actually request a reaction for the film so that you can judge for yourself. In fact watching James Gunn's Superman film made me appreciate some of MoS's strengths. But after that it goes downhill from there. Synder's DC films got worse with every entry (MoS to BvS to Justice League). Justice League isn't really Snyder's fault, the production was a mess and and was removed from the prodject after his daughter's suicide. The Synder cut is still not a good film in my opinion although it has it's fans and it has it's redeeming qualities.

Good to know, thanks for the update.

I'm pretty spoiled on Man of Steel so I don't know how good a reaction it would be. But you've never made a crappy request so I trust your choices

Alice Flagg

No, you included the clip, I just meant I was expecting a stronger reaction to that moment. Not important, you did everything right, sorry if my comment confused you.

You probably know the broad strokes and the more controversial elements like Pa Kent questioning whether Clark should've saved the bus, Pa telling Clark not to save him and Superman killing Zod, but you don't know about the finer details and you haven't seen the perfomances or the scenes in question within their proper context. Maybe seeing them with the big picture may alter your interpretation. Just to be clear, I'm not making a formal request, just floating that film as a possible request. Maybe after you've seen Superman: TAS or in between seasons if you keep bringing up the movie.

In defense of the retelling of Superman's orgin stoy keep in mind that this is a show made for kids and the target demographic may not have seen Superman (1978), not to mention his origin hasn't been done to death when the show was made. It also sets the world up, keep in mind characters like Braniac and Jax-Ur and Mala have ties to Krypton so it makes sense to depict the planet before it blows up so that audeinces have a frame of reference.

In regard to Superman's origin I don't recall any early iterations where he travelled to earth as a grown man. I don't recall any ealry iterations, I think you may have misheard or were misinformed, I'll have to look into that. But I think it was always the case that he came to earth as a baby. Keep in mind is creators were both jewish and based on the present day character on various mythological figures such as Samson from the bible and Hercules from Greek mythology. It's reasonable to assume that they based his origin on Moses' origin and that was alway shis origin from the get go.
