I could be interpreting it wrong, but I think Jinshi was laughing when Maomao said she had to help Xiaolan because it would mean she wouldn't sleep well because Maomao couldn't just come out and say that it was because Xiaolan is her friend- if you couldn't tell from what she was thinking to herself regarding Xiaolan, things like "we owe each other nothing," but it seems like Maomao thinks of her relationships transactionally, which makes sense given she essentially grew up in the Verdigris House where no one gets something for nothing. It did seem like he was being a dick, but I think it was just him recognizing how bad Maomao is at expressing herself and/or recognizing her own feelings about things and the people around her

Princess Lingli actually has the same VA as Gyokuyou- her mother- and it’s actually the same VA for Frieren

I meant to bring up when you watched episodes 11 and 12, but if you hadn’t picked up on it, when the “imperial brother” is in public, he’s always wearing a mask that covers his face, so that’s why most people have no idea that he and “Jinshi the eunuch” are the same person- and now we see that with a face mask and platform shoes, former concubine Ah Duo has been able to pretend to be the brother as well- that’s partly why everything that “he” wanted to say was whispered to and spoken aloud by Basen at that meeting
