Hey, friends and fans, just wanted to update you on the situation with my hands after the poison ivy exposure.

Turns out that I'm MORE allergic to poison ivy than most people...to the point that when I went to the doctor they immediately told me that they needed to give me a steroid injection to help my body mitigate its reaction to the urushiol (poison ivy's poisonous oil) and assist it with breaking down the lingering oil in my rash covered skin so that my body would STOP breaking out into more rashes and blisters. I was then prescribed a medicated cream to apply to my rashes and blisters that is so strong the prescription is, apparently, only given out in severe cases of allergic dermatitis.

So, unfortunately, it's looking like another week before my hands are going to be back to normal. Rest assured that the first update will be the Tier Reward for Era of Spirits and Shadows and we'll still have the Random Monthly Drawing at the start of May as well as the Support General Update Poll. I don't want this to take away any more content and updates from all of you, but I'm forced to beg for your patience while I heal and can only hope that you'll all stay with me until I can start writing for you again.

P.S. Just realized it took me almost 13 minutes just to type this out...damn I'm slow with only one-and-a-half index fingers.

Hey no worries go get healthy first you can’t help it if things happen

Orchamus

Damn that sucks. Hope you feel better soon Kairo, that sounds like a horrid time all round

Kyros_Vasera

Reading this, I am quite glad I insisted you go to the doctor as soon as possible. Sounds like it was important you get this info sooner rather than later

Justin Price

Do what you need to do don't worry about us till you better

Gremlin Nyx

Life comes first, then stories. We'll be here supporting you how we can when you're healed

James

Get well soon Kairomaru. I know a little of how you feel - I'm on opoid painkillers and naproxen rn for gout. You can't use your hands, I can't use my feet. Rest up, and enjoy the chance to catch up on your Netflix queue.

Sebastian Pineda

Hey man do what you need your health takes top priority hope you get better soon my friend

Nakul Dave

Oh no, sucks that poison ivy affects you more, hope you get better soon, health should always come first

EtheVoice

Man allergies can be a bitch and I mean that literally. I’m so allergic to pollen it literally made me sick for a whole week endless sneezing and that happened when I was working during the spring time. So hope you get better sir and your hands heal as well.

Grixis_Dragonlord

Just take it easy Kairomaru, we can be patient. It's better for you to prioritize yourself in these situations.

Xander1994

It's fine dude, seriously just focus on making sure you're better first and foremost. I'd rather wait a couple of weeks til you're better than you suffering while you work.

KingKilo310

You're the same as my dad, brother, and I. Hope you are feeling better soon my friend.

savitar

While what happened to you is awful, knowing about it will make you more careful, and if it happens again next time, you'll be able to prevent it completely. Taking some time off is normal. Take care of yourself and treat your body like a temple. Don't worry, I think everyone can wait patiently for the next update.

Garret Benoit

I'm just happy you went before it started spreading too badly. Hope your hands heal well.

Kirk

Seriously man it's fine your health comes first. We just want you to be safe and healthy

Kirito Beater

Dude, just focus on getting healed up. We can wait for your next awesome drop

Beowolf43 making fanfiction

You come first man, if you need time take it, nobody who donated would give a crap if your sick and can't update, we get our money's worth ten times over.

PulseInfinity

Are you alergic to Mangos? I luckily haven't gotten exposed to either poison ivy or oak but I have problems with mangos and they also contain urushiol in their peels. Also get well soon.

Jeremie

I'd recommend just posting your update notes with your phone as it's probably easier to just hold the phone and thumb type than it is to try and type on a keyboard lol. Obviously you can't do the story with your phone as that would probably take you a year per chapter lol

R1Styx

Gotta go full exposure man, get that immunity up!.... jkjk sounds bad my dude take care of yourself. And for the love of all that is holy don't rub your eyes!

Kz3838

I'm sorry to hear that, please take all the time you need. Stay safe out there!

Delphinous

man, that really sucks. sorry that you'd have such an awful set of weeks. don't sweat too much being medically absent just for commiseration, as a strange bit of irony, there are different tiers of anti-allergenic medicine that will be given or prescribed to people. the first level after over-the-counter, i am allergic to, entirely. so if over the counter doesn't work for me, i have to skip the next strongest and go tot he real 'this will fix you but also knock you out for a month' sort of medicine. being allergic to anti-allergy medication is something else

D3AD3CHO

Tha nks for taking the time to explain and not just go radio silent hope you get better soon

Enderai

Holy shit, that sucks. Hope things improve soon.

Christian Jeffress

That absolutely sucks, hope you improve quickly, and take all the time you need. Your health always comes first.

Boss Redd

Never had the that itching pleasure of messing with poison ivy but I've seen several people who have I know it isn't a pleasant experience based on their actions take care of yourself man wouldn't do us any good if you tried to force it and made it worse

Craig Jacks

Damn, just take your time and rest up - no one will blame you for taking care of your health. Take as much time as you need, because this is important.

Daniel K.

So the poisonous plant that grows wherever it likes, looked at you and said "Fuck you in particular!"? Nature can be a bitch. Hope the cream helps and please take your time to recover.

Arnold Wong

I feel so bad that this happened to you and that I hope that you'll recover properly from this and while I appreciate you doing everything you can to keep your promise to us and stick to your way of doing things, it's no problem at all if you don't do anything until your fully and properly healed up to continue everything, you can afford to skip or pause a few things, I mean I'm sure the majority of everyone will understand things.

cet

Yeah, my sister is allergic enough they gave her the prescription that's the next level down for hers a few years ago, and my Uncle is so allergic he can go into anaphylactic shock if he is exposed to enough of it. It's not fun even if you aren't allergic to it. Do what you need to to get better man, and make sure to wipe down anything you even think you might have touched before washing your hands after touching the ivy, the oil takes a month to go inert after being removed from the plant and it will keep giving you a rash if it's on anything and you touch it.

Monkey

I glad that you got the help your needed You healt is more important than your writing

Harvester7

Just focus on healing and resting. I had regular poison ivy rashes years ago and it sucked. I can only imagine how much you’re suffering. Don’t worry about any updates until after you heal.

ChaosOmega98

Is your fingers feeling any better now that you got all the medicine from the doctor

Kairomaru

They don't itch as much now, which is nice. Still covered in blisters though.

Rian Huizar

Fucking yikes; if your reaction to urushiol is *that* bad you should he VERY careful around mangoes. They're part of the same plant family as poison ivy and contain urushiol in the sap of the tree, in the leaves, and in the skin of the fruit. There have been cases of mangoes causing reactions in particularly sensitive people.

Rian Huizar

Just a heads up, mangoes also contain urushiol as they're a part of the same plant family as poison ivy. It can be found in the sap of the tree, the leaves, and the skin of the fruit; especially when green/unripe. Especially sensitive people have been known to have adverse reactions. Oddly enough, people who have grown up regularly eating fresh mangoes usually have minor reactions to poison ivy, oak, and sumac.

Cory

Just take your time and heal up dude. We'll be patient.
