Chapter 75 – Straw Hats vs CP9: Part 2
Franky was rushing down the corridor towards what he thought would be the kitchen area of the Tower of Law. ‘It makes sense that it would be on the ground floor, right? I just need a refill and I’ll take these CP9 bastards apart easily!’
Bam
Fukuro’s round body slammed down in front of Franky from above, shattering the stone floor and cutting off the cyborg’s path. “Chapapa! I’m Fukuro the silent, lover of gossip! You cannot get past me!”
“Damn it! Before I could get to the kitchen and fill up!” Franky’s blue hair was a bit limp, noticeably drooping down over his forehead as opposed to its normal flared fringe.
“It’s four on one!” Usopp declared as he, Chopper, and Vivi caught up to Franky. The shipwright had bolted the instant they’d reached the ground floor, heading for the kitchen.
“Yoyoi!” Kumadori bellowed from behind the four, putting them in a pincer, trapped between him and Fukuro. “Yoi! Yoi! Lo, thou pirate! After one hundred years, at last we meet! Halt thy trespass! Halt, I say!” He slammed his shakujō on the ground repeatedly, making the rings atop jangle loudly. “YOYOI!!!”
Chopper held his ears. “He’s so loud!”
Vivi brought up her arm as grains of sand began to flow from it. “We can handle both of you!”
Kumadori’s hair began to move and spread out, as if it was alive, while the kabuki-themed assassin made an exaggerated theatre pose. “Noowww thooouuu arrrtttt miiinnneee!” His hair lashed out to wrap around Chopper and Vivi in a blur, before beginning to squeeze and constrict around their limbs and bodies.
“WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!” Usopp cried out, his eyes bugging out in shock at seeing Kumadori’s hair moving around.
“Yoyoi! Abandon all hope of escaping!” Kumadori declared loudly while aiming the bottom of his staff at Vivi and thrusting it forward to impale her. “NOW THOU DIEST!!!”
Pssshhh
The staff went straight through Vivi’s stomach with a cloud of sand coming out of her back. The princess turned pirate merely looked at Kumadori, completely unfazed. Her entire body turned into sand and she flowed around the constricting hair, reforming only a meter away.
“Oh yeah!” Chopper shrank down from his full beast form and back to his regular hybrid form, easily slipping out of the hair hold and landing lightly on his feet on the floor before moving to stand beside Usopp.
“Yo…yoyoi…” Kumadori’s loud voice was suddenly very small after seeing both Vivi and Chopper easily escape his hold.
Behind the three Straw Hats, Franky was squaring up with Fukuro, trying to get past the CP9 member and to the kitchen.
“Franky Boxing!” Franky threw a barrage of jabs and straights, even mixing in a few hooks to try and take down Fukuro quickly.
“Tekkai!” Fukuro steeled himself and took the blows, his eyes widening at the force behind them and how heavy Franky’s fists were.
Franky threw a powerful haymaker straight at Fukuro’s head. “Oryaaaa!”
“Soru!” Fukuro vanished and the punch passed through empty air. Franky looked upwards, seeing Fukuro near the high ceiling, his arms and legs spread out to allow him to hold himself up between the wall and ceiling. “Koff… How can you punch so hard? You’re no ordinary human!”
“Now matter how much you try to turn your body into iron; my fist is real iron!” Franky smirked up at Fukuro, before charging straight towards the open doorway of the kitchen. “Finally! I can refill!”
Fukuro blurred right after Franky with another Soru. “Like I’d let you!”
-Sanji versus Jabra-
WHAM
“Gah!” Jabara’s large hybrid form crashed into a wall, spiderweb cracks spreading across it. He hacked out some blood from his muzzle and pushed himself up off the ground. “Who the hell…are you?” He demanded of Sanji, not having expected that the pirate could actually catch up to him.
“The hunter that’s come to kill the wolf.” Sanji said with a smirk as he walked towards the Zoan Fruit user.
Jabra growled at Sanji before rising up to his full height and throwing his head back. “AWWWOOOOOOOO!!!” He howled loudly, like he was pumping himself up for the coming fight.
“Hm?” Sanji’s eyes sharpened as his Observation helped him predict Jabra’s incoming attack.
“Tekkai Kenpo!” Jabra’s body tightened up with Tekkai, but he leap forward anyway, his clawed hands nothing more than a blur. “Okami Hajiki!”
Sanji raised his knee to block the strike, but the force was even greater than expected and he was sent flying backwards. “Grk!” He crashed into the fair wall, shattering the bricks and masonry in a cloud of dust.
Jabra cackled at sending Sanji flying. “Hahaha! That wasn’t so hard!” He wrote off Sanji as dead, mostly from experience, no target that had ever been hit by his ‘Okami Hajiki’ technique had lived. “Maybe I should go hunt down the other pirates as well?” He looked towards the corridor that he and Sani had taken to get here.
WHAM
A kick to the side of the head buried Jabra’s large form straight through the nearest wall. Debris went flying as a cloud of dust was kicked up, small pebbles of broken wall falling to the floor as Jabra’s legs twitched. Only his legs and large, fluffy tail weren’t buried in the rubble…but Sanji could still hear Jabra’s ‘voice’ clearly.
Sure enough, the Wolf Zoan pulled himself from the rubble and spun straight into another attack. “Jusshigan!” Both of his clawed hands shot straight at Sanji, wrists together and all ten fingers curled to aim straight ahead.
Sanji saw the attack coming with Observation and easily swayed around the thrust. He lightly placed one hand on Jabra’s outstretched arm and used it to leap into the air, putting him even with the large Wolf Zoan’s transformed head. “Troisième Hachis!” He barraged Jabra with a flurry of kicks to break down the CP9 agent.
“Tekkai!” Jabra used the Rokushiki technique that he was the best at and tanked the flurry of kicks that slammed into him with a pained grunt. ‘What the hell?! His kicks are…!’ He glared at Sanji the instant the rain of kicks stopped. “That won’t work, fool!” Jabra lied as easily as he breathed, despite the clear pain he was in.
“It’s annoying the way you harden like iron!” Sanji shot right back. “Makes it harder to tenderize you!”
Jabra’s left foot was a blur as he kicked straight upward, the nearly opaque air slash cleaving through the air in a strange leaping motion that sliced the ground every time it touched it. “Rankyaku: Koro!”
Sanji sidestepped the air blade, letting it slice through the wall behind him, and was in Jabra’s guard faster than the Rokushiki user expected. “Basse Côte!” He kicked off the ground with one leg and slammed a front kick straight into Jabra’s chest. “Longe!” His next kicked slammed into Jabra’s side, nearly breaking his Tekkai as his feet started skidding across the floor. “Tendron!” A sidekick slammed into Jabra’s thick neck, leaving an imprint of Sanji’s dress shoe beneath the fur. “Flanchet!” A front kick was buried into Jabra’s tightened abs, forcing air to escape his muzzle forcefully. “Quasi!” His opposite leg crashed into Jabra’s thigh, nearly buckling the leg. “Queue!” Using the momentum from his previous kick, Sanji spun around Jabra and slammed a roundhouse kick into the base of his tail, using the momentum from Jabra’s skidding form to increase the force even further. “Cuisseau!” Sanji’ kicked the back of Jabra’s other thigh, staggering the assassin and giving him time to move around the wild swipe from the Wolf Zoan’s sharp claws. “Jarret!” He continued his motion and was at Jabra’s side, slamming a powerful kick into the other man’s shin, taking the leg out from under Jabra and forcing him to kneel on one leg. “Veau Shot!” Sanji leapt backwards to avoid both of Jabra’s claw swipes and then kicked off the ground so hard the stone floor cracked.
“Tekkai Kenpo!” Jabra crossed his arms in front of him and tightened up every muscle, ignoring the pain it caused him. Sanji’s kicked slammed into his crossed arms and sent him flying backwards, his feet leaving the ground entirely for a moment before he managed to land and stop his backwards momentum. “All your little cooking attacks are just making me hungry…”
Sanji cut Jabra off while tapping the toe of his right dress shoe on the floor. “No, I can feel you breaking down, little by little.” He saw through the lies spilling out of the Wolf Zoan’s mouth.
“Roga!” Jabra blurred forward, his claws flashing out and striking Sanji, knocking him backwards until his back hit the wall. Blood fell from the small laceration that had gotten through Sanji’s black suit. “Hahaha! While your moves don’t work on me, my Roga works on you! Tekkai Kenpo: Roga no Kamae!” He took up a martial art stance with both arms forward; his sharp claws aimed at Sanji. “I’m the only Rokushiki user who can move while using Tekkai!”
His gloating was cut off as Sanji shot straight towards him. “Deuxième Hachis!” Kicks so fast that even Jabra’s eyes couldn’t keep track of them all slammed into his Tekkai hardened body with so much force that he went rocketing into another wall and through it entirely. The crash sounded more like an explosion and dust and debris flew everywhere.
“Maybe that’ll shut you up.” Sanji exhaled, really wanting a cigarette right now. “Ah, damn it…” He cursed as Jabra pulled himself through the hole in the wall.
“Admirable. I’ve been waiting…” Jabra said as he sat down, leaning against the wall next to the large hole. “…for a fellow like you.” He put his hands on his legs and looked at Sanji. “Enough of this pointless fighting. Go save Robin.”
Sanji blinked once at what Jabra had said. “Huh? What’re you talking about?”
Jabra sighed once before speaking again. “I wasn’t going to say anything, but Robin and I were parted in childhood. She’s my little sister.”
A dress shoe crashed into the bottom of his jaw faster than Jabra could react. He rocketed into the air and slammed headfirst straight into the brick ceiling. Dust and debris rained down as Jabra hung there like some kind of macabre chandelier.
“I should skin you for lying about Robin like that!” Sanji nearly snarled out. “But I doubt she’d want your mangy pelt! Nothing but lies spill out of your shitty mouth!”
“Gah!” Jabra fell from the ceiling and crashed onto the floor. Blood was leaking from his muzzle and he gingerly held his head with one hand.
Sanji glared at Jabra, still angry for Robin’s sake. “Haven’t you ever heard of the boy that cried wolf? No one believes a person who lies all the time.”
Jabra got onto all four with a growl, making full use of his hybrid form. “Tekkai Kenpo: Roga no Kamae! Soru!” He blurred all around Sanji at high-speed before his clawed hands seemed to come from every direction. “Rokaru Area Network!”
“A slashing attack?!” Sanji managed to guard thanks to his Observation, but that only gave Jabra an opening.
“Tekkai Kenpo: Don Po Ro!” Jabra’s fist slammed into Sanji’s hasty guard as he barely had time to turn and face the incoming attack. The heavy fist sent the cook flying across the open space until he hit the far wall like a rocket.
BOOM
The wall practically exploded, sending dust and debris flying everywhere.
“HAHAHA!!!” Jabra laughed cruelly, his sadistic nature shining through. “Geppou!” He leapt across the air and spotted Sanji in the cloud of dust, pulling himself out of the rubble. “Rankyaku: Lupus Fall!” He kicked with both legs twice in rapid succession, launching four arcs of force towards Sanji, all four taking the shape of wolves as they streaked through the air. Instead of cleaning slicing on contact, the odd variation of Rankyaku exploded on contact, like an airburst.
Bam Bam Bam Bam
The entire wall was blasted apart and Jabra landed before the wreckage easily, his eyes, ears, and nose searching for Sanji amid the thick dust and rubble everywhere.
“GRAAAAAHHH!!! AWOOOOOO!!!” Jabra growled and then howled at his seeming victory. “Hahaha! Did you think you had a chance?! I’m a wolf! I won’t stop until I take down my prey!”
“I won’t let a mutt like you kill me…” Sanji said as he stood up from the rubble, having managed to dodge all but one of the wolf-shaped air blasts. There was some blood on his face from a small cut, and his black suit was roughed up, but other than that, he was mostly fine.
Jabra seemed almost amused. “Oh? You’re still alive?”
Sanji smirked at the Wolf Zoan. “I’m not going to go easy on you anymore.”
“Hahaha! Go easy on me?!” Jabra laughed mockingly. “Are you really mad about Nico Robin? You’ll only create an opening for your enemy if you lose your cool! If you’ve got time to pity that depressing woman, you’d be better off thinking of a way to save your own life!”
“Watch what you say.” Sanji shot back, his eyes filled with an intense, heated glare. “When I get angry, I tend to heat up!”
Jabra scoffed at Sanji’s words. “If you can’t focus, you’ll never win! My attacks are clearly working!” He leapt forward and planted both hands on the ground, kicking upwards at Sanji with both feet. “Tekkai Kenpo: Matenro!”
Sanji spun to the right, dodging the kick…but then he continued spinning, faster and faster until all Jabra could see was a black blur. The assassin leapt put of range of any kick, just in case. For all of his bravado, Sanji’s kicks had been rattling his bones since the beginning of the fight, even WITH his use of Tekkai.
“I don’t know what you’re doing spinning like that.” Jabra held his hands forward, wrists together, all ten fingers curled to aim at Sanji again. “But I’m not letting you finish! Jusshigan!” He charged forward, only to stop in his tracks when Sanji stopped spinning and a bright glow entered his vision. “What’s that? Your foot turned red?!”
“Diable Jambe.” Sanji raised both arms into a guarding stance, while also raising his burning hot leg upwards. “The speed creates friction and heat, and the high temperature increases the power.” His eyes locked with Jabra’s. “You might even say…”
Jabra winced slightly as Sanji’s leg audibly sizzled and glowed brighter. “It’s shining?!” Before Jabra could react, Sanji’s burning foot slammed into his stomach like artillery fire. “GAH!!! HOOOOOTTTTT!!!” He bellowed out before all the air was forced from his lungs and he blasted through the far wall, hit the next wall, cracking it, and then rolled back out of the hole in the first wall while nearly clawing at his burning chest and fur.
“…that’s its destructive force is devilish.” Sanji finished while Jabra howled in pain.
“Gaugh!” Jabra hacked up a mouthful of blood while writhing on the ground. “IT’S HOT!!! AGH!!! I’M BURNING UP!!! EVEN MY BONES ARE HOT!!! I THINK THEY’RE BROKEN!!! TEKKAI DOESN’T WORK AT ALL!!! WHAT KIND OF KICK IS THAT?! ARRRGGHH!!!” Smoke wafted off his chest, the fur their singed black as it continued to smolder.
Sanji leapt towards Jabra, ready to finish off the CP9 agent.
Jabra rolled over onto all fours and launched himself at Sanji with a ferocious snarl. “Idiot! You think you can take to the air against a Rokushiki user?!”
“Diable Jambe…” Sanji saw Jabra’s next move with Observation and poured his Armament Haki into his leg. Just as Jabra was closing in, Sanji lashed out…but not with a kick like Jabra had been expecting. The chef’s hand grabbed onto Jabra’s jacket sleeve and Sanji pulled himself to the side while bringing his hips around, putting more torque and power into his next kick, on top of the Armament Haki imbued in his leg. “…Flambe Shot!” The burning kick slammed into the side of Jabra’s transformed head. A blast of flame erupted for an instant as fur was torched upon contact. Jabra went rocking down to the floor…
BOOM
And continued straight through it.
BOOM
And through the next.
BAM
And shattered the stone floor on the ground level.
Sanji landed from his kick, right next to the new hole in the floor. “God created food…” He breathed out a little heavily, still not used to using Diable Jambe. “…but the Devil created spices.” He pulled out a cigarette while looking down into the hole at Jabra’s motionless body, smoke rising off the defeated assassin. “But perhaps this dish was too spicy for you.” He pulled out his lighter and lit the cigarette, taking a short drag before exhaling the smoke. Sanji couldn’t hear Jabra’s ‘voice’ any more, but that could be because the man was unconscious…or dead. “I’ve got to go find the ladies and make sure they’re safe.” He took off towards where he could faintly feel the ‘voices’ of his nakama. “Wait for me, Robin-chwan!”
-Franky, Chopper, Usopp, and Vivi versus Fukuro and Kumadori-
“YOYOI!!! Shigan: Cue!” Kumadori thrust the bottom of his shakujō at Usopp.
“Gah!” Usopp cried out as he dodged, throwing himself to the side. A perfect hole left in the wall that he’d been standing in front of a half-second ago. “That thing’s not even sharp!”
Chopper swung his fist at Kumadori from the side. “Heavy Gong!”
Kumadori stood still, bracing his body. “Tekkai!”
Fist met face and Kumadori staggered back, blood running down his nose from the unexpected strength behind Chopper fist.
“Yo-Yoyoi! Thou has a heavy punch!” Kumadori continued his odd, kabuki-like theatre speak.
“I hit him with Armament Haki…” Chopper was nearly wide-eyed at not laying Kumadori out with his strongest punch.
Usopp took the chance provided by Chopper to launch one of his special rounds at Kumadori from his Kabuto slingshot. “Special Attack: Exploding Star!” The larger than normal pellets raced through the air towards the assassin.
“Soru!” Kumadori vanished in a blur, the shots going wide and exploding against the far wall across the large, open cafeteria area.
“Where’d he go?!” Usopp looked around, using his Observation to search. “ABOVE!!!” His eyes nearly bugged out as he threw himself to the side.
“Shigan: Cue!” Kumadori’s staff pierced the floor in a blur before he landed on the ground again. “How does thy continue to evade my attacks?!”
Sssssshhh
Sand rushed across the floor and tried to wrap around Kumadori’s legs.
“Geppou!” Kumadori leapt upwards and kicked off the air to get away from the swirling sands.
Vivi wasn’t going to give the assassin any time to counterattack. “Bara El Rimal!” The swirling sands compressed and fired hundreds of hard sandstone pieces at the airborne Kumadori.
Kumadori kicked off the air and used Soru at the same time. “Soru!” He vanished int a blur and the ceiling above was torn apart by the fast-moving shards of sandstone. “Kami Shibari!” His long white hair seemingly came alive again as it rushed towards Usopp, the only one that wouldn’t be able to escape the hold.
“I’m not into that!” Usopp cried out as he launched another of his special ‘stars’ towards the incoming hair. “Special Attack: Sticky Star!” The ammo hit the writhing hair and exploded with a wet ‘splat’ sound.
“Yoyoi?!” Kumadori quickly realized that his hair that touched the strange goop stuck together like glue. “What has thou done to my hair?!”
Usopp smirked. “How do you like that, assassin?! So much for your weird octopus hair!”
Kumadori’s eyes widened in anger. “Oc-Octopus hair?! You…you…this most disrespectful remark! Geppou!” He shot at Usopp, his staff raised before the end burst into flame…somehow. “Thou hast ruined the glorious mane of a lion! And for that, there can be only death!”
“GAAAHHH!!!” Usopp’s eyes bugged out as he raised Kabuto to try and block, predicting Kumadori’s path with his Observation Haki.
PAAASSSHHH
The burning staff made a cloud of scattered sand as it slammed into a sudden wall of the fine grains. The fire was snuffed out as the bottom of the staff sunk into the wall.
“Tirs El Rimal.” Vivi said, her sand shield protecting Usopp. “Sayf al Sahraa!” Blades erupted from the sand shield suddenly, blurring towards Kumadori.
“Tekkai!” Kumadori tensed up his body, putting everything he had into his defense. The sand blades sliced straight through his black suit, then his skin, and into his flesh, all while pushing him backwards at high-speed.
BAM
The wall on the far side of the room shattered from the force Kumadori and the sand blades hit it at. The sharp blades cleaved through brock and mortar, collapsing the wall on top of the CP9 member.
“Special Attack: Sunflower Star!” Usopp fired five of his Exploding Stars simultaneously at their downed opponent.
BOOM
The fiery explosion engulfed Kumadori.
“Did you get him?” Chopper asked, knowing that he couldn’t use any more Rumble Balls today. ‘If I do, I’ll break my promise to Doctorine…and the monster will come out again.’ He couldn’t risk his friends’ lives with a third Rumble Ball.
“Yo…Yoyoi…” Kumadori stood up, his suit shredded and burned, his blood flowing freely from large lacerations across his torso, his hair still stuck together and now smoldering with small flames. “The noble lion…mustn’t fall…” Blood ran down his face and from his lips. “For the thunderous roar…of the noble beast…will settle this fight!” He raised his bent shakujō unsteadily, his entire body shaking.
Sssshhhh
Sand swirled around Kumadori, rising up from the floor to wrap around him swiftly.
“Dafn Al Sahra’…” Vivi controlled the sand and encased Kumadori within the swirling grains. More and more piled up rapidly, the pressure increasing within as Vivi compressed it. There was no screaming, no sight of blood, just the sound of the shifting sand as the pile grew larger and larger until a veritable sand dune had buried the entire section of the room.
“That…that should do it.” Usopp said after the sand stopped moving. He looked over at Vivi. “Thanks for the save.” He gave her a smile, knowing how much even a little positivity could help after taking a life.
Vivi returned the smile with a small one of her own. “You’re welcome, Usopp.”
Chopper was respectfully silent to let Vivi process, but he turned to look for Franky and the other CP9 agent, only for neither of the men to be there. “WHERE DID FRANKY GO?!”
“EH?!” Usopp looked around, not seeing either of the two either.
“They’re that way.” Vivi pointed the way. “I can feel them through my sand.” The tiny grains were spread thinly all over the floor and were easily tracked along by people’s feet.
Down the corridor and in the large kitchen area, Franky was still trying to get to the massive refrigerator that was against the back wall, while Fukuro was blocking him at every turn.
“You sure are good at running away!” Franky yelled at the round man with the zippered mouth.
“Chapapa! That punch you’re so proud of…you expect me to just take it?” Fukuro questioned with a mocking laugh as he was once more holding himself between he ceiling and the wall.
Franky smirked and took off running straight towards the huge refrigerator. “Then I’ll just help myself!”
Fukuro vanished in a blur. “Soru!” He reappeared in front of Franky with his fist cocked back. “No you don’t!” He threw the punch, but Franky raised his arm, and his already large forearm expanded like a circle, blocking the blow like a shield.
“Gotcha!” Franky grabbed Fukuro’s zippered mouth, and with a powerful heave, slammed the CP9 agent into the wall, shattering the bricks and mortar. “Weapons Left!” His left hand flipped out of the way on a hinge to reveal a cannon barrel in his arm.
BOOM
The fiery explosion covered the area and Franky didn’t wait around to see the results as his drooping hair nearly fell flat against his forehead. “Damn it… I’m almost out of cola! I’ve got to get to that fridge!” He ran towards the giant metal box again.
“Not so fast!” Fukuro blurred in between the fridge and Franky, his arms spread wide, and his round body blocking the way.
“Damn! He dodged it! You first-class coward!” Franky yelled at Fukuro, glaring at the other man from behind his sunglasses.
Fukuro’s eye twitched at the insult. “Chapa! What did you say?! You…!” He got into a stance, raising both his arms much like a boxer. “Now you’ve gone and made me mad! Just try and counter my lethal fist! My super-heavy punch thrown with the speed of the Shigan technique!” His fist blurred and slammed into Franky’s face. “Solid Beast!”
Franky’s head rocked back and he staggered back a half-step. “Ah… What a gentle little punch…” He said, even as blood fell from his lip. “Strong…” He swung his right fist and it slammed into the side of Fukuro’s face. “HAMMER!!!”
“Tekkai!” Fukuro barely managed to use the technique as the punch crashed into his cheek and he felt blood fly from his mouth and nose. “You’re punch…is an amateur punch…” He said a little shakily. “Solid Beast!” Fukuro punched Franky in the cheek as hard as he could.
“Nnngh!” Franky had braced himself this time and didn’t move his feet from the blow, even as his blood fell to the floor. He smirked at Fukuro and spit out some of the blood. “Yours is a wimpy punch… Heh heh heh…”
Fukuro nearly growled at the diss. “Nope…yours is an old man’s punch.”
Franky instantly snapped. “Then yours is a baby’s punch!”
“Yours is a pansy punch!” Fukuro spat back.
“Panties?!” Franky misheard the insult, but it flared up his anger more than the actual insult would’ve. “NOBODY CALLS ME PANTIES!!!” He started throwing punches with abandon, all aimed at Fukuro’s face.
Fukuro took the punches, landing every single one he threw right back. “THAT’S WHAT YOU ARE! PANTIES, PANTIES, PANTIES!!!”
The two continued slugging each other before Franky straight up tackled Fukuro and the two started wrestling on the ground.
“Get off me, you bastard!” Fukuro cried out as Franky was on top of him and had one hand yanking on his mouth while the other blocked Fukuro’s punches.
“Shut up, toad mouth!” Franky socked Fukuro again. “I’ve gotta get to that fridge!”
Fukuro kicked off the air powerfully. “Geppou!” he shot along the floor while Franky fell off of him in surprise. “Soru!” He vanished again and Franky could only raise his guard. “Solid Beast Supreme Technique: Owl Strike!” A rain of blows came from every direction, slamming into Franky over and over again.
“Gah!” Franky tried to counter attack. “Beans Left!” The four barrels popped up from his left wrist, but the pellets barely fired…more like they rolled out of the barrels, really.
“Chapapa! What was that supposed to be?!” Fukuro mocked as he slammed Franky into the floor with his barrage of punches.
Franky managed to kick Fukuro in the stomach, creating a break in the barrage. “Got to have cola!” He only made it two steps before Fukuro’s fists slammed into his back, knocking him to the floor again.
Bam
“Gah!” Fukuro cried out as a fiery blast hit him in the back. “What?!” He turned to look at the doorway and spotted Usopp with his staff slingshot, Vivi on his right with some sand swirling around her. “How’re you two here? What happened to Kumadori?!”
“You said cola, right?” Chopper’s voice came from near the fridge, making Fukuro’s head whip back around, seeing the short Zoan user at the open fridge door.
Franky elbowed Fukuro, making the larger guy flinch for a second. “Yeah, three bottles!”
Fukuro was about to slam his fist back into Franky, but was forced away. “Soru!” He vanished an instant before a cloud of sand would’ve engulfed him.
“Here!” Chopper threw Franky three bottles of cola.
“You’re a lifesaver!” Franky caught the three bottles just as Fukuro reappeared.
“I don’t know what you’re doing! But I won’t let it happen!” Fukuro threw a blurring kick at Franky’s back. “Rankyaku!”
Franky took the blow and barely budged, even as blood ran down his back. A strange sound, like an electric engine humming to life, was heard within the large kitchen. A second later and a crash of thunder was heard as well, while Franky stood up to his full height. “SUUUPPPEEERRR!!!” He bellowed out, slamming his forearms together to form the blue star shape of his two tattoos.
Fukuro wasn’t impressed and made it known. “Chapapa! Drinking cola’s not going to change anything!”
Franky turned around, raising both his fists again as he walked towards Fukuro. “Put up your dukes.”
“Chapapa! You fool! I’m sick of your wimpy punches!” Fukuro scoffed at the cyborg.
“Strong…” Franky cocked back his right fist the instant he was in range to punch the assassin.
Fukuro tightened up his entire body again. “Tekkai!”
“HAMMMER!!!” Franky slammed his right fist into Fukuro’s gut more powerfully than ever before.
“GAH!!!” Fukuro’s Tekkai was useless as all the air was forced from his lungs, along with a mouthful of spit and bile. He went flying and smashed through two soldi brick walls before crashing onto the concreate foundation of the tower…outside. “Ack! Guh…” He hacked and sputtered, trying to get any air back into his lungs while a deep, burning pain filled his gut.
Chopper, Usopp, and Vivi’s eyes were all wide open and bugged out at the sudden overwhelming power Franky displayed.
Franky smirked as he walked towards the holes in the two walls. “Sorry about that. You were right. My punches up to now…were real wimpy.” He grabbed the flailing Fukuro’s head and easily hauled the much large man to his feet…and then off his feet and the shorter legs of Fukuro now flailed in the air.
“Wh-What…are you?” Fukuro coughed out, his core felt like it was on fire…his muscles and his guts felt like they were ruptured, and he could barely put any strength into his body.
“I had a long, long time to look over those old blueprints. And being a tinkerer myself, I couldn’t resist trying my hand at few small things.” Franky revealed, his smirk still in place. “But you don’t need to worry about that.” He palmed Fukuro’s face and slammed him bodily into the concrete, shattering it and leaving Fukuro’s body in a small crater. “Go to sleep for a while.” Two metal pipes emerged from the bottom of Franky’s forearms and he brought his arms together to connect them, his hands making a cylinder around the sole exit point. “Coup de Vent!”
BOOM
A blast of sheer air pressure blew away part of the foundation of the Tower of Law. At the bottom of the deep hole, Fukuro’s unconscious, or dead, body lay motionless.
“WAS THAT AN AIR CANNON?!” Usopp cried out, his eyes wide and sparkling at seeing the powerful weapon.
Franky laughed as he waved away all the dust that had been blown into the air from a single discharge of his weapon. “Hahaha! Yeah it was! My Coup de Vent! It takes a bit of my cola reserves, but nothings I’ve ever hit with it has gotten back up!”
“That was amazing!” Chopper cheered, his hands raised in the air, his eyes sparkling just like Usopp’s. “So, this is what a cyborg can do?!”
Vivi wanted to let Chopper have his moment of awe, but they still had things they needed to do. “Guys, we need to regroup with everyone.”
“Right!” Usopp raised his right fist in front of him. “We need to get back to the Sea Train with Robin and everyone else! Oimo and Kashii are coming too, so we’ll have to find a way to make that work…somehow.”

The cowardly man in the leather face mask was panicking as he tried to run away towards the only escape route he knew would guarantee his safety. Sweat poured down his face as he ran, snot dribbled from his nose, and there were tears in the corners of his eyes from fear.
It was the most honest expression of Spandam’s true nature as a sniveling coward with an overinflated sense of self-importance.
“I have to get away! As long as I survive, nothing else matters!” Spandam said to himself while huffing for breath. As soon as he was through the tunnel under the water, then he’d be safe. ‘Once I cross the Gates of Justice, then I can start planning my revenge on Nico Robin, Cutty Flam, and those damned Straw Hats!’
The thought that he’d be severely punished for this grand catastrophe didn’t even cross his mind, such was his self-delusion.
“Gah!” Spandam tripped as something suddenly grabbed his leg. He fell flat on his face and flailed on the ground like a toddler before managing to roll over onto his back. “Wh-What was that?!” He cried out, one hand holding his face from the pain.
A hand and arm ‘bloomed’ from Spandam’s chest right before his eyes, making them widened in shock and fear.
Slap
The hand slapped him across the face so hard that blood flew from Spandam’s busted lip and he swore he felt a tooth come loose.
“AGH!!! OWWW!!!” Spandam tried to scramble away, but two more arms ‘bloomed’ from the floor and grabbed his legs, pinning them down. “N-No! Let go of me! Let go!”
Robin stepped around the corner; her arms crossed in front of her chest. Nami and Mikita followed behind her, just a step behind, none of the three women looked happy in the slightest.
“You’re such a spineless little coward.” Robin said coldly, looking down at Spandam.
“N-Nico Robin!” Spandam tried to struggle more, but a leg and foot ‘bloomed’ from the ground and stopped on his crotch. “GAAAUUUHHH!!!” He cried out in pain before the scream trailed off and went high-pitched.
Mikita scowled down at Spandam. “That one was for hitting our Robin.”
Nami glared at Spandam, reminded of a certain scumbag Marine that had caused nothing but trouble and pain for people that she cared about. “How can there be so much trash working for the government?”
“T-Trash…?” Spandam squeaked out, clearly insulted, but unable to mouth off like he usually would.
Another hand ‘bloomed’ and punched Spandam across the face. “Yes, trash.” Robin said with a cold hatred in her words. “Only trash like you could think a Buster Call is something to be proud of. People like you that scheme and hurt others for your own selfishness and greed have taken everything from me since I was a child.” Two more arms appeared and grabbed Spandam’s right foot. With a sharp twist, an audible crack was heard.
“AAAUUGGHH!!!” Spandam screamed as his ankle was broken.
“Stop screaming.” Mikita stepped forward to kicked Spandam in the side once, cutting off his air supply for a moment. “You brought this on yourself.”
Crack
The left ankle was broken by two more hands. Spandam could only wheeze and whimper from the lack of air in his lungs.
More and more arms ‘bloomed’ from the floor and the walls, eventually lifting Spandam up into the air, his feet dangling a dozen centimeters off the ground. The man was shaking his head side to side, snot running down his nose and lips, and tears of fear poured from his eyes.
“We only have a short time…” Robin said darkly, letting out nearly two decades of repressed rage and hatred for the World Government. “…so let’s begin.”
The horrific sounds of bones breaking rang out over and over again. The dozens and dozens of hands and arms took hold of Spandam and focused on certain points first.
Crack
The right knee was shattered.
Crack
The left knee followed.
“Auukh…” Spandam’s eyes rolled up, but a swift slap across the face forced him back into consciousness.
Crack
The left pinky finger was broken, left to hang at an odd angle.
Crack
The right index finger was snapped.
Mikita and Nami bore witness to every injury for Robin’s sake. Watching as each of Spandam’s fingers were broken, one by one. They stayed silent, but their presence alone offered Robin all the support she needed to finally take some measure of revenge against the World Government that had taken her life from her for so long.
“Uuugghh…” Spandam let out a low whimper, drool falling from his half-opened mouth.
Snap
“GAAAUUHHH!!!” Spandam’s scream filled the air as his lowest left rib was snapped by one of the multitudes of hands.
“You still have twenty-three more ribs to go.” Robin said with cold indifference to Spandam’s suffering.
The masked man was finally the one on the receiving end of cold, cruel, and uncaring violence. And it would still not be enough to make up for every horrible thing he’d done in his life.
Snap
“Twenty-two…” Robin began to count down, making Spandam forced to wait, unknowing when the horrific pain would come again…until it suddenly did.
Snap
“AAAUUGGHHH!!!” Spandam screamed, even as that made the pain worse.
“Twenty-one…” Robin kept counting.
Minutes later, Spandam hung limply from the dozens and dozens of arms, his body grotesquely twisted and broken. But he wasn’t allowed the peace of unconsciousness, still being slapped awake every time he passed out from the agony.
“We don’t have time left to continue.” Robin had been doing her best to keep track of the time since Spandam had sent the order for a Buster Call. “This place is still far more than you deserve as a tomb, but I’m honestly done with you and this…” She let out a heavy exhale of breath. “…I don’t understand how your type of people can take so much pleasure in making others suffer.” She crossed her arms over her chest and the arms holding Spandam up tightened their grip on his body. “But I’ll make sure there’s no possible way you’ll make it out of this place.” With a thought, the arms began to bend Spandam, they pulled his torso back and pressed on his lower back, while pulling his legs further and further back as well.
Spandam whimpered and tried to shake his head ‘No’, but as two hands pulled back on his chin, his mouth was forced closed and his head was forced still.
The pressure grew on the spine, vertebrae and connective tissue reached their limits…and were then forced past them. Muscles tore, bones cracked, nerves were pinched…and the pulling still continued. Spandam was barely able to even feel any new pain at this point, his nerves already overloaded…but he could feel this sharp pain growing worse and worse as his back bent far beyond its physical limits.
Crack
The spine snapped in half, right at the lower back, paralyzing Spandam for life, if he did somehow survive all of this. Robin’s dozens and dozens of arms vanished in flower petals, dropping Spandam’s body like a rag doll onto the cold, hard stone floor.
“Hah…” Robin let out another breath, long and slow. Gentle arms wrapped around her and hugged her warmly, sandwiching her between Nami and Mikita. “Thank you.” She sank into the warmth and let the mild disgust from committing torture slowly fade away.
“Anytime, Robin.” Nami promised softly, gently squeezing the other woman just a little tighter.
“We’ll always protect you and love you.” Mikita whispered to Robin, leaving a warm kiss on her cheek to seal the promise.
The three held each other for a long moment, taking comfort in each other, before they tossed the broken body of Spandam in front of the two massive steel doors he’d clearly been trying to reach. With a quick use of her Devil Fruit, Mikita pinned Spandam to the floor with some scraps of metal, using her tons of weight to press the metal straight into the concrete. It was very likely that the entire foundation of the Tower of Law would sink into the sea when the Buster Call arrived, and none of them wanted Spandam to go anywhere before this place flooded. Even if he woke up, he’d only be able to look at the locked steel doors that he’d thought would be his salvation, unable to move towards them with his broken and pinned body. Spandam might even get to watch as the water flooded in…but Robin, Mikita, and Nami didn’t care. They simply refused to give the sniveling monster of a man any more thought or time, ever again.
“Follow me.” Nami smiled at her lovers as she took off down the corridor, following the most powerful ‘voice’ on Enies Lobby, Luffy’s.
-Enroute to Enies Lobby-
The ten warships from Marineford sailed in formation towards the judicial Island. They could already see the Gates of Justice and the call to open them had been given.
“When will we arrive?” One of the Vice Admirals questioned his Helmsman.
“We should arrive at the target within the next ten minutes, sir!” The Helmsman answered promptly.
None of the Marines on the ten warships could possibly expect what they’d see and experience once they passed through the Gates of Justice.

CP9 has fallen.
Lucci, dead. Kaku, alive the last time Zoro saw him. Kumadori, dead. Jabra, probably dead. Kalifa, still alive when Nami and Mikita left. Fukuro, alive…maybe. Blueno, still unconscious somewhere in a pile of rubble. Spandam, wishing he was dead as his life slowly slips away.
Usopp, Chopper, and especially Vivi, made short work of Kumadori. Their combined arsenals effectively disabled Kumadori’s biggest strength.
Fukuro and Franky’s match went close to canon…until Franky got his cola. Then we get confirmation that Franky ‘tinkered’ with some of the things he saw in Pluton’s blueprints and applied his own ‘best attempts’ to his cyborg body! His strength vastly outperforms Fukuro’s as Franky manhandles the larger superhuman man. Then we see the more advanced version of Coup de Vent! An air cannon blast that, with a single blast, can devastate whatever it’s aimed at. Much more powerful than it was in canon…because the system behind it is also much more advanced! And yet still, somehow, powered by cola! Lol
Will the Straw Hats leave Enies Lobby before the Buster Call even arrives?
Or will Luffy have to demonstrate just what happens when ANYONE tries to hurt one of his nakama? Especially one of his lovers!
Just how does the Enies Lobby Incident end?
Keep reading to find out!
Until I get your reviews, later!
