the Bubasaur translation was weird. She said "weird guy" basically.....think it was just for later when they talked about being a pokemon trainer bc Li-zard-euh is the korean name for a pokemon . One of those the subtitler tried to make it relevant to western audiences but didn't quite make sense

Again....."survival crops" is a weird translation (only bc the term doesn't exist in america) but basically it means famine food or food you eat when rice or barley wasn't available. The term goo hwang refers to the color (yellow) of those crops so potatoes, roots, etc
