We included our reactions to the last portion of Episode 5 in this video as well. We were informed that the episode was mainly a fun filler episode so in the instance of time we will not be reacting to the full episode. But we will continue with Episode 6 sometime this weekend! We really enjoyed these performances and want to show WSWF some love. We will be posting our reactions to the performances on YouTube soon so be sure to like and comment there when it's posted!

Handsome Hayeon Can't Hurt You

a little context on the team korea performance you guys mightve missed but every korean knows EXACTLY the story once the dancers show up with the hats. Those hats in traditional folklore are worn by grim reapers(? there isn't QUITE the corollary in english) who are there to escort you across the death river into the afterworld. So the entire storyline of team korea is that the grim reapers are there to try and take Roh Yeon Seo (the actress in the beginning) into the after world as she sleeps but then wakes up from her nightmare at the end realizing it's a dream (or is it?). Unfortunately, I think the next episode is all but decided. I honestly do think if MNET doesn't award team korea for this performance, they'll be put in quite the pickle with advertisers, regulatory agencies, etc. It sounds like hyperbole but the reason I say this is.....it's not just the view count. It's the accounts commenting on the video. Official cultural organizations like The National Museum of Korea, The Cultural Heritage Association, The National Gugak Foundation (gugak is the blanket term for traditional korean music since the track they used featured a bunch of traditional instruments) and others (so think if like The Metropolitan Museum of Art or the Smithsonian commented on Motiv's video). In additions, official government accounts like the City of Seoul, City of Busan, National Tourism Board, National Firefighters Association, Univeristies and others all have left comments Add to that brands like Lego, Burger King, Kellogs, IKEA, a bunch of korean cosmetics companies, even RIVAL TV networks have left comments It isn't just that a lot of people or celebrities are commenting (which they are....Jay Park for example) it's that this video has caught fire in ALL of korea. And in all honesty.....the overhead shot alone puts team korea in the top 1 or 2, it's not like it'd be awarding a BAD performance. If MNET were to not award them for a video that the National Museum of Korea asked to return back to the museum, I think the entire country would riot. It's one thing to have a bunch of fans pissed at you.....a whole another thing when venerated institutions like all the cultural organizations disappointed

They were all amazing!! My personal preference 1. Motiv 2.Rhtokyo 3.Bumsup 4.Ojogang 5.Agsquad

Motiv is my number 1, hit me right in my heart fr. I think RH is low in views because it felt more like a MV than mega crew.

The little girl in Motiv's mega crew is Miyu! She's from Indonesia and has been blowing up because of her participation in international hip hop battles and, of course, her amazing dancing skills.

Thank you! I thought that was her name due to the video I had seen pop in my feed prior but didn’t want to get it wrong. 😆. She was amazing.

Good points and thanks for the background on the concept. Puts the story into context. Can’t wait to see how it all came together.

Yeah, Ojo Gang's cultural theme was not very clear, but I think their concept might have to do with the idol culture in Japan, hence why there was Twice and the lightsticks. And a cute little detail I saw somebody point out was that the lightsticks were in the colors of all the crews, which is really cute!

I had my wife watch the performances and she pointed out the lightsticks might have to do with idol culture as well. She enjoyed RHTokyo more and thought Osaka could have done a bit more. Still a good performance though.

I have it as 1. Bumsup 2. AG 3. Motiv 4. RH 5. Ojo But if we take into account the high angle section then AG goes to the bottom and everyone else moves up.

MIU

This is very late but I actually attended Motiv classes with Marlee before. I’m so proud as a dancer to see her success grow throughout the show. She is very passionate and is not afraid to teach the history of hip hop in all her classes. On top of that, I feel as a dancer who went to a lot of dance classes she does a very good job in actually teaching the foundation of the dance style rather than just teaching a cool choreo and calling it a day

Wow that’s amazing. Must have been an amazing experience. She just seems very passionate and truly love what she does. I’m glad to hear about a personal story like yours so thank you for sharing. I definitely have become a big fan.
