It turned out to be a difficult month, for almost a week I did not have time to create a map, now I have to work at double speed in order to finish everything before the end of the month.

I almost finished the main floor, it remains to set up the lighting and some other little things. The floor with the cells is not ready at all, I continue to work.

It's looking fantastic. Such dedication to detail. Better than the original for sure.

mark2580

there are fewer details than in the original )))

TheotherNoun

Haha. I remember you mentioning, A SFM issue, right?

mark2580

For example, in the captain's office there are more various objects on the table, but I decided not to make them. In SFM they will all disappear, and in garry's mod they will decrease performance. If someone needs it, they will decompose the needed ones themselves. There are many different bags, rags, leftovers of fast food lying around in the locker room, I didn’t do all this. I want not only to have time to finish the main room, but also somewhere to attach the location where the MP of the gto character is created. And where he is chosen. The so-called "mugshot room". This location is not complete and is only used in interface mode. I hope I can fit it nicely into the police station. https://imgur.com/a/IxbnnOx

TheotherNoun

I understand now. The mugshot room in particular looks most interest. I wonder if you could get it to scale as well?

mark2580

to scale ? I haven't built this location yet, maybe you can suggest something ...

TheotherNoun

I haven[t got much feedback regarding the design of the mugshoot room itself. However for the scales along the side of the walsl that measure height I think it'd be good to compare the measurements with https://sfmlab.com/project/27939/ this model. From experimentation, it's very close to accurate when comparing real world and "game world" heights and proportions. Obviously game logic shifts things around but in this case it might be interesting.

If we combine the scale with SFMLab and Breen from hl2, then this is clearly visible. When the scale from GTA looks more like the truth. As I was told, there should be feet, i.e. 6=180 centimeters=player. Back in 2015, I figured out how much to increase models from GTA V, based on chairs and sofas. Even if this is not true, I will not change anything, too many models have been made. Although my guess I think is very close to the correct size, I was convinced of this more than once creating a new map. https://i.imgur.com/6BKOH7N.png

I see! Sorry for being a nag. But thanks for taking the time for clearing things up for me!

I advise you to read this page. By default, 3ds max (I use it) uses inches, they are similar to the units in the hammer editor. Those. 72 inches would be just the standard height of a male character in hl2, for example, gordon himself or breen. https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Dimensions
