Hi. It's me. Yes, yes, I'm alive) In short, I got sick, I was completely inoperative for more than a week, the pressure constantly jumps, it happens that it is even difficult to sit at the computer, especially doing something in 3ds max / hammer. In general, the progress is not very impressive, I rebuilt this house three times, changed the proportions, the size of the rooms, etc.

In the end, only this is ready so far. Until the end of the month I will try to make at least some more bathrooms.

It looks like a pretty huge project. And the house looks impressive. I hope you feel better as the weather begins to turn cold.

I hope you feel better soon, Mark. But..."Not impressive"?? This is AMAZING! This is exactly what I've been needing for ages! I hope that you'll at least make a version for SFM where all the rooms are unfurnished though. Looking at the main bedroom and family room/den. Also how will the attic stairs work? Just planning to make objects/props for the door and stairs? Same question for the regular doors. Can you going to make the doors props, so we can manually add them in and animate ourselves?

- sfm version of the map will go without saying - Yes, I was thinking about the unfurnished version. So far I do not even know if this is the final version of the premises (especially the basement and attic). - the model of the staircase to the attic had animation, I ported it unchanged, at the moment you can climb there only in a squat, I think for sfm this is not a problem at all (in the original, a person climbs by bending over and holding onto the stairs like a handrail)

The attic looks nice, but the basement looks great. Especially the layout. My question about the attic was about how you can't really interact with things, like in GMod. So I was just wondering if you will just end up leave the opening a blank hole, and just have the door/stairs just be a prop. The same as all the other regular doors. Just have them be props. So every room with a door isn't only closed permanently. But this is all brainstorming at this point, since like you said this isn't the final version. It looks amazing though. I can't wait to see what the end product will be.

well, probably only for the sfm version, I think gmod users will not be delighted that you have to arrange the doors yourself)

Hope you feel better soon MARK! Take your time! As for the house it looks absolutely stunning, and i'm excited for it as gmod mostly have houses that still uses hl2 textures that are absolutely ugly to look at, outside of city 17 Overall, very impressive work!

Yes, you are right. Quite often I see such cards and they are called "a card from this game" although if it had not been written I would never have guessed that, for example, there is a jewelry store from payday 2, I played this game for a while and I know what it looks like, this map has nothing to do. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2389690944 Thanks. I feel better today. Right now I am continuing to work on the map.

There's this specific map i got just to use it's pier for a scene (since there isn't many piers out there, i even thought of porting the GTA V Pier myself once for personal use), but it looked so depressing, with all those half-life assets sticking out like a sore thumb https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1193674667 Another type of map i dislike is either the ones that mish-mash a ton of content from many games, like using assets from that 'The Ship' game that doesn't fit Left 4 Dead 2 assets and maps that uses lots of brushwork to create furniture, making it all blocky and yucky Glad to hear you're doing better, though!

The layout of this house seems pretty familiar, any chance it's based on the same layout that was used by the house from the game "House Party"?

mark2580

Yes, this is an asset for Unity and UE4. It's called HQ Residential House, but I'm doing it a little differently.
