another great reaction, Lauren and Harry! Dunno if you recognized the actor who played Lt. Jones, it is Colin Hanks, the son of Tom Hanks (who has a hard to spot cameo as the third german soldier screaming in pain on the bank the day after the raid). The lighter that the soldiers were using was actually to leave black soot on the metal parts of the rifle to cut down on the shine at night. This was long before things like cerokote that modern rifles can be painted with to camouflage them. one of the things that isn't really spelled out in the show as well as it COULD be was the extent of David Websters injuries. Popeye and Guarnere had busted out of the hospital with minor injuries. Webster literally couldn't walk until he got through with rehab before being redeployed.

Sorry for the late reply David, I thought I had replied but I think I did in my head 😅 Oh I completely missed that but now you've said it he looks so much like him of course it is!! Ah clever about the soot, I haven't heard of this before but what a great idea.. So much attention to detail in this series it amazes me each episode. Oh yes we weren't really sure about Websters injuries so didn't pick up on how much of a big deal it was that he returned!

It’s all good my friend! I must confess that I haven’t read the book that BoB was taken from so I don’t know how well some of these things might be described on the page as opposed to the silver screen. My knowledge comes as it often does in these scenarios from a combination of reading comments and doing research on various things that stimulate my brain when I see or hear them. Hope New Zealand is pleasant these days…..Houston as it happens, is “blessed” with THESE four seasons: Almost Summer Definitely Summer Still Summer and Christmas Day The most brutal part of the year for us is july and august, so the heat is ramping up. Thank GAWD for air conditioning…..

War is not my usual reading genre so I only really read up on it after having watched something that stays with me! This series however has intrigued me so I think I will try the book and see what is missed out or elaborated on! Eek we are in the middle of winter which wasn't doing that bad until last week we had some torrential rain which flooded a lot of the region! We are lucky to not have been too badly impacted but we are hoping for some nicer weather to dry things out over the next few days 😬 We definitely get all the seasons in our area (not snow but still cold in winter) but we both would rather the heat 😅NZ is a bit behind with the ol' air conditioning especially in homes so glad we aren't too scorching in the summer! Good luck for the coming months, hopefully it isn't too brutal this year!

well, I'm not stuck in a miserable un-AC'ed machine shop for the first time in 8 years sooooo, I'm doing OK.....my house AC works, my car AC works (AND I have covered parking which I may 20 dollars a month for and it is TOTALLY worth it....).....assuming neither one goes out (I HAVE had the NON-joy and the NON-privilege of having those happen.....DURING the summer) I should be fine.... Do ya'all live in a place that gets snow during the winter? Houston certainly does NOT.....I think in the 11 years that I have lived here, I have seen a small amount of snow on 3 separate days....
