Yeah this show just showed you guys that the Confederacy of Independent Systems its members are not just only full of droids and weird aliens. Also multiple players and firms that are involved in this Galactic War like you guys witnessed the Banking Clan which doesn’t care which side wins, also the other player you guys might remember but the movies explained little was the Techno Union; this organization was an engineer organization they mostly build transportation for the working class but they also build the Droidekas, and other types of droids for the Confederacy (The B1 Droids were build by the Trade Federation).

In a kids show there has to be a clearly defined bad guy for the kids to grasp and root against which means near the beginning the Separatists were kind of cartoonishly evil doing all sorts of things. But a lot of fans actually now sympathise more with the Separatists and some even seeing them as actually maybe the side that is more in the right. The Republic had become corrupt and was not listening to the concerns of planets in the Outer Rim and so they want to become Independent. The Republic is fighting them because it wants to stop them from going independent. This war would not be happening at all if the Republic (well, Palpatine), just allowed them their independence. By using droids, they also spare more of their own populations lives while the Republic is just happy to use an army of cloned people that know nothing but that they are born to fight. However, obviously things got a little twisted. Since they are outnumbered and have to face the fact that their enemies are sending super-powered generals after them, they needed to align with some more evil Corporations like the Trade Federation in order to have a fighting force and also Dooku and General Grievous. But Palpatine and Dooku are in cahootz obviously to use both sides against each other. And if you remember, the Empire is a human supremacy state. The surviving Separatists join the Rebel Alliance after the Republic becomes the Empire.

If you remember, the Empire is a human supremacy nation. By making it so the Separatist's are mostly Alien, Palpatine and Dooku can further entrench their power because they can use the fact that they were at war with these aliens in the past to get the Public's support to discriminate and enslave them in the Empire.

It's really fascinating watching the conflict of each side and how they try to justify their actions! Agreed that the initial depictions of the separatists. We enjoyed the humanisation of them in this episode and also how they seemed to democratically vote and want to go ahead with those plans (although Dooku doesn't allow it). It was nice for the audience to have some confirmation that both sides have corruption but also people truly wanting the best for their people. We definitely struggle with the over-use of the clones in situations when it is clear they aren't going to make it. Particularly as they keep the human emotional intelligence, it seems so brutal to create them purely for war
