help me decide which widely renowned film franchise I should start watching first!

Have you watched the Marvel Cinematic Universe yet? If not, I'd suggest you do it at some point. :)

I'm sure you've already been advised on the matter, but it must be said: If you do Lord of the Rings, the extended cuts are your best option!

Camilla's Corner

not in its entirety, but I've seen some bits and pieces, so I figured I'd start with series that I've seen absolutely nothing of / know nothing about!

Extended Version, for the Rings Trilogy.

Like most of the comments, Lord of the Rings extended edition is a must. It's really long and that can make some people hesitate to watch them but it is a fantastic time.

PHILLIP CORNISH

Oh please not another MCU channel. Not a fan but respect if you are. Theres 100s reactors already do these do we really another one?

Lord of the Rings (extended cuts) all the way. Back to the Future is a good second. That movie is part of our culture.

1.) Extended editions all the way. 2.) This is "high fantasy" and in that it's an entirely different universe, literally. There are many creatures that populate this universe; 'men'/'humans' for one. 3.) J.R.R. Tolkiens' work: "Lord of the Rings" is considered to be the foundational work of high fantasy in an Epic way. He created this universe, all of the people's within it and their languages, he created everything within it! 4.) It is a complex story, a lot of characters where some have similar sounding names, a lot of 'facts' and it can be daunting to try to remember it all in 'one viewing.' Just knowing that is 'half the battle' and don't worry about it. Let the music, the imagery, the characters and their relationships and the story itself guide you on this Epic journey everyone should take. "Every movie is a universe unto it's own" and it will inspire you to think of questions, but will give you the answers in 'its own time.' Thank you Camilla!

5.) Peter Jackson is the one that brought the books to life through this movie! 6.) Close captioning can help with a lot of things!

I would've voted for Jurassic Park but since most of us want Camilla to start her LOTR journey, I'll oblige. Now she'll have something to talk to Addie about. #LordOfTheRingsForCamillaAlmond

Im in the minority when I say theatrical editions make for a more better paced movie. But once you see it the extended editions are like a nice treat.
