it's time for a multi-level poll! I asked my producer tier what genre they'd like to see more of, and these were some of the most popular answers.

if you have any requests within any of these genres, leave them in the comments and I'll consider them for the subsequent poll for whatever wins!

Being the 1st person to answer this poll. .. I think this is a good opportunity to dive into the Western genre; particular Clint Eastwood... his films: Fistful of Dollars trilogy (Fist Full of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, The Good, The Bad & The Ugly), The Outlaw Josey Wales, Pale Rider & considered Eastwood's best Western movie & top 10 Westerns of All - Time : UNFORGIVEN.

I'm pulling for New Hollywood and I'll throw out an early suggestion for A New Leaf (1971), the inspiration for my profile pic and username, and directed by the divine comic genius Elaine May.

It's been many years since I've seen the Fistful of Dollars trilogy and I'd be up for watching them again.

Game Night (2018) is my favorite comedy from the last decade. I am always up for watching that again. I remember watching it for the first time on an overnight plane ride with my sister. Apparently she was laughing so hard that she was preventing others from sleeping. If any of you were on that flight, I apologize on her behalf. Looking forward to watching whatever you pick, Camilla!

Recommend the TV series Ted Lasso. It consists of 3 seasons. Looking forward to whatever you have in store, Camilla!

Looks like comedy is the frontrunner. Here are my recommendations: The Naked Gun (1988) Rush Hour (1998) The Nice Guys (2016)

I voted New Hollywood, but I actually think films from this era (e.g. The Graduate, Bonnie & Clyde, Midnight Cowboy) will be more impactful once you've become more familiar with classic Hollywood films. For Westerns, you might want to alternate between classic Westerns (30s-50s) and "revisionist" Westerns (e.g. the Dollars Trilogy, Butch & Sundance, McCabe & Mrs. Miller) to understand the development of the genre. Stagecoach (1939), John Wayne's breakout role and the film that lifted the Western from B-tier to A-tier, is a great classic to start with. Other top classic Westerns include Red River (1948, dir. Howard Hawks), My Darling Clementine (1946, Henry Fonda, dir. John Ford), The Gunfighter (1950, Gregory Peck), Winchester '73 (Jimmy Stewart, dir. Anthony Mann), and 3:10 to Yuma (1957, Glenn Ford).

BTW, if you react to "oldies" (i.e. pre-1980 films or so), I suggest NOT renting them on YT! Often YT will say an old film is available in HD, but when you actually check the resolution it's only 480p (not 720p for SD or 1080p for HD). It's basically consumer fraud. Classic films on Amazon Prime are actually shown in HD, so I'd advise watching there instead. When shown properly, the cinematography in old films can be stunning.

The movie About time is like syfy time travel but with a romantic twist

Warren Van Wyck

That movie was both fun and hit me so, so hard.
