hey everyone! I wanted to gauge everyone's interest for the various Star Wars properties that are out there that I have an interest in watching. I left off shows like Clone Wars and Rebels because of their lengths - but if there's an interest for something not on this poll, leave it in the comments so that I can know!

you can vote for multiple items on this poll!

I am a big Star Wars fan and the Clone Wars and Rebels are my favourite shows. From this list I like The Mandalorian the best, the rest are character back stories (Obi-Wan and (Han) Solo) and/or spin-offs of The Mandalorian, as in The Book of Boba Fett.. I also think you will like The Mandalorian the most of these four shows.

Since you're asking for opinions, I will be brutally honest - all of these properties are going to feel inferior after watching Andor. None of them have the same level of quality in every aspect, none of them have the gravitas. The Mandalorian is the closest, and the only one I would have any amount of interest in reactions to. Obi-Wan has some good moments but it's ultimately kinda bad. Book of Boba Fett is awful. And it's not on your list, but while I'm talking trash, The Acolyte is genuinely one of the worst things I've ever seen lol.

Although I do not really have time and I did not watch most of these TV series. I did see the first season of the Mandalorian and a special portion of an episode in Season 2 & i have to say that "The Mandalorian" is the way to go. It was created by John Favreau & without giving spoilers the first season featured Carl Weather , who is most noted for playing Apollo Creed in the Rocky movie series. The Mandalorian was Carl Weathers last role before he passed away in 2024.

The thing about Boba Fett is that you do have to watch it after you finish Mando S2. Without spoiling anything, jumping right into S3 won’t make a ton of sense in terms of story context.

Mando is very good. Have not watched the others so I cannot comment.

Even though Clone Wars and Rebels are relatively long, if you’re really wanting to get into the deeper Star Wars universe and its lore, these animated shows are necessary. Plus, many of the newer live action shows utilize characters and plots from the animated shows (like Ahsoka for example). They give you enough information to get by if you haven’t watched the older stuff, but you’re still missing out on so much. IMO, a lot of peak Star Wars comes from these animated shows, and while it is a commitment, it would definitely be worth your time.

Obi Wan Kenobi is great, but the Mandalorian is a monster. The Book of Boba Fett can be watched a little ways into the Mandalorian, but if we’re talking just a quick series, Obi Wan would be my choice.

John

I haven't watched any of these. So, I'd be out on all of them. But, if they are popular, go for it.

Mandalorian or Obi-Wan. Can't go wrong.

hmm, is either show necessary before watching the mandalorian? like if we were to watch mandalorian, but then possibly later go back to clone wars or rebels?

creightoncook

You could watch the first season of Mando, but then season 2 starts using characters and a particular item (which I won’t spoil) which are in both animated shows. Again, Mando will give enough information to get by, so you wouldn’t be totally lost, but you’d miss out on the “oh it’s that person who I know!” experience.

The Mandalorean brought star wars back p in quality.

I think the madolorian is the best but also think obi-wan is great and would be faster to knock out!
