Blazing Saddles So many jumped to mind (Brazil, Blue Velvet, Fifth Element, Tropic Thunder), but I'm going with Blazing Saddles since it's batshit crazy & socially so important. AFI #1 Comedy.

Checked Letterboxd and I am going to go with "I Robot" (2004). My absolute favorite not already on there is "X-Men: Apocalypse" (2016), however, since I know you like to approach "series" movies when you are ready to attempt most or all in that continuum (in this case "X-Men"), I will leave it off for now. And one favorite that I cannot find on LBXD was "Independence Day" -- huh??? So I would probably go with that one too, but I just can't believe you haven't already seen it? Wish me luck!!

Zero Effect (1998)

Chris Gronau

I assume you mean the 2006 version with Daniel Craig, as opposed to the 1967 version....

Noah

Yeah the Craig one

JKP1138

The Book of Eli (2010) Unfortunately the first page of Google results for this film usually contains some pretty unforgivable spoilers so I would avoid looking anything up on this one should it happen to win the spinning wheel. The things you might like to know: It's an action/drama set in a post-apocalyptic world. Starring Denzel Washington, Gary Oldman, and Mila Kunis. Directed by brothers Albert and Allen Hughes.

Duane Richard

American Graffiti (1973), an early George Lucas film.

Uncle Phoenix

Dune (1984) Because Dune is a story of Consciousness and the awakening of one’s consciousness; the old school version is just as relevant. That and young Patric Stewart is just as Charismatic as Jason Mamoa.

Damnit! I was hoping that when the next Movie Poll came round I could get in first. I was going to try to convince everyone to collude in a massive prank whereby we all suggest Twelve Monkeys. Maybe next month.

Grant

Maybe next month. That or Under The Skin (2013). They're both very good btw. As is another repeat proposal - Spy Game (2001). I finally watched your Usual Suspects reaction last week and was refreshingly surprised. I don't normally like watching folk react to that pile of dross because at the end it's always a case of "OMG! That was the best twist ever!" Well someone clearly saw a different film from the one I watched. Anyway, your comment about how that narrative style (someone telling a story/flashbacks) being not the best storytelling technique is sound. (Especially when the flashbacks are a pack of lies). In the hands of a seasoned pro like Tony Scott it can be quite effective. I can't imagine Spy Game being told another way. It also has that race against time element (in a big way). And the clock starts ticking before the opening credits. So if I was going to suggest a film it would be Spy Game. Given that I'm jinxed on these polls, I won't bother. I'll just wait for the Poll and vote for my least favourite mwah ha ha!

Camilla's Corner

OH well it’s not for a poll, it’s for the spinning wheel that happens in my bonus videos - if that makes a difference for you

Grant

Oh! I like the wheel! The Muppet Movie made it on last time! Okay. Speed (1994)

Vedsång

Intouchables (2011)
