Season 1 was set after episode 6 as well, the storm troopers and imperial guys were remnants rather than being straight up empire, season 2 picks up not long after where we left

Most of the Tatooine episodes are filmed in Tunisia and for a few Death Valley, California.

Tatooine was the name of a small village in Tunisia where they filmed it in Episode 4 and anytime they need Luke's home they use it because it's still there. Not sure where they do the other scenes.
