Wanda and Pietro Maximoff couldn’t be called the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in this movie. They’ve traditionally been associated with the X-Men, and since Fox owned the film rights to the X-Men at the time, Marvel Studios couldn’t use those names or connect them to mutants. Instead, the film ties their powers to HYDRA experiments with the Mind Stone. Including X-Men (2000), Fox was busy making its own X-Men movies during their ownership run, including some characters that now overlap with Marvel’s efforts. Disney/Marvel reacquired the X-Men film rights from in 2019.

ohh interesting I didn't know they were linked to the X-men universe!

Can't wait for your reaction to the next Avengers movie (Infinity War). It's not just one of the best MCU movies, in my opinion it's one of the best superhero movies ever made.

Blind Entertainment

From what I understand is that Tony was intending to leave the avengers, and him creating Ultron was his plan to protect the earth once he left. When his Ultron plan backfired he chose to stay due to feeling guilty, and to atone for what he caused. That’s my take, but it could be wrong. Also Quicksilver getting killed off was done to subvert expectations. Everyone being more distracted thinking Hawkeye would die, Quicksilver the new character dying was more shocking. Fans also speculated that Marvel killed him off on purpose. At the time Fox owned the rights to the X-Men, and even though those movies aren’t great they had just introduced their own version of Quicksilver that was a popular character in those movies. In the comics Quicksilver, and Wanda were both apart of the X-Men, and A enters, so they had dual rights, and both Marvel, and Fox could use the characters. However at the time if Marvel used them they weren’t allowed to reference mutants, or the X-Men.

Andy Serkis = Ulysses Klaue (Ultron) = Gollum/Smeagol (LotR) = Caesar (Planet of the Apes) = Kong (King Kong) = Alfred (The Batman)

Love me some Linda Cardellini! Loved her in DTF St. Louis. Liked “Dead to Me” better (w/ Christina Applegate).

Camilla's Corner

yess I've seen both! I agree - I liked Dead to Me more too! although DTF was filmed in GA so it was cool to see some familiar places etc

And toes in DC in Robert Pattinson’s “The Batman”! Yep, The Batman & Penguin should be on your list somewhere, sometime. (Selfishly, not before X-Men) But ‘the list’ is never ending.

Paul Bettany: One of my favorite decisions that Marvel made was using Paul Bettany as the actor for Vision after having him be JARVIS for multiple films. Would have been easy enough to find another actor to play Vision.

Next MCU = Ant-Man. Sooo very looking forward to you seeing this one. For me, it’s in a virtual tie with GotG as the funniest MCU movies. You are in the MCU’s golden age now.
