you guys, I have been practicing so much self control to have not started the official halloween/horror discussion and polls until now. it's finally september so I think it's finally time to start some more planning!

this post is your designated spot to dump any and all Halloween or horror/thriller requests and suggestions for this year. it can be one, it can be several, it can be a sequel or a one-off, it can be horror, it can be comedy, it can be animated.

if you're newer or missed it, last year we watched Halloween, Se7en, Psycho, The Shining, Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Weapons, and The Nightmare Before Christmas. here's my YT playlist with (I think) all the horror/thrillers on the channel in general

I already have lots of lists with poll themes and choices in mind, but I want to see what I should add and what gets the most requests. I'll be putting up a similar post on my channel community tab soliciting requests too!

A Quiet Place would have been my suggestion, but you’ve already seen it. So how about A Quiet Place Part II? I don’t think it’s as good as the first one, but it’s close. I haven’t seen A Quiet Place: Day One, so I can’t tell you if it’s worth watching. Other than that I can’t think of anything. I love Halloween as a holiday, but I don’t watch many horror movies.

Morning, Camilla... yes, it is difficult to resist the Halloween type movies to react to. I think it is one of the most popular times to react to movies .... here are my several choices for movie you may consider reacting to by type of horror movie to....they are as follows... Zombie : SHAUN OF THE DEAD (Horror/Comedy starring Simon Peg) ; Sci-Fi Horror film : THE THING (1982) starring Kurt Russel; 2nd Zombie Film : WORLD WAR Z starring Brad Pitt.

Please consider "Sleepy Hollow" (1999), "Zombieland" (2009), "It Follows" (2014). And for a tamer supernatural thriller, "Ghost" (1990). Thanks! 👍

The_Doors_

The Burbs (1989) Comedy with horror themes

Oh man, there's so many. How about John Carpenter's The Thing (1982)? I would also suggest Prince of Darkness (1987) and In the Mouth of Madness (1994) but The Thing is the absolute must see, the most well-known and legendary of those John Carpenter horror classics.

All of the Universal Monster movies would be good. For something light hearted, Practical Magic (1998), since its sequel is coming out next week. And for something that's very scary, then The Exorcist (1973).

Alex Tan

Halloween (1978) would also be good as well.

Mike A

Ooooo, Shaun of the Dead & World War Z!

Mike A

Nice! Zombieland! And Ghost is a classic.

JKP1138

Alien (1979), The Thing (1982), and as a more lighthearted option Casper (1995).

For a fun lighthearted Halloween movie, I’d recommend The Monster Squad. On the more serious side, I would go for the sequel to The Shining which is called Doctor Sleep.

MrBamaRed

Got to mention Rocky Horror Picture Show, even though it is not a "horror" movie per se, especially with the recent passing of Tim Curry. Poltergeist is a classic if you are looking for those style movies as well. I don't believe you have watched RHPS.

Alexander George

Could be followed up with the sequel ALIENS as well.

ButtercupsTrueLove

I have seen "A Quiet Place: Day One" and think that Camilla would enjoy THIS one for a reason I won't divulge. It helps to see the two previous films but not absolutely necessary. EDIT: Camilla has already watched and reacted to "A Quiet Place".

Scott Lindsey

It's not a movie but if you have not seen The Haunting of Hill House its perfect for spooky season and its a great show, only 10 episodes.

Mike A

Army of Darkness (1992). Old-school, low-budget Comedy/Horror by Sam Raimi. You get Bruce Campbell, whom you’ve seen/cameos in the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies, also by Raimi.

Norman

Sisters (1973) is a Lois Lane psychological horror nightmare.

Belthazor82

When you watched The Life of Chuck a little while ago, you said that you had never seen anything of Mike Flanagan before. Therefore - and I know this is a bigger time investment with 10 episodes - I highly recommend The Haunting of Hill House. It's an absolute masterpiece in storytelling and cinematography.

I think Undertone is a highly underrated film, although there are those who would disagree. It might be more accurately described as a psychological/suspense thriller than horror, but it still gets pretty creepy. There were several times during the film where I thought that if Hitchcock were alive today this is the kind of film he would be making.

Camron

Love to see Scream.

Blind Entertainment

Hocus Pocus (1993), Coco (2017), Dawn of the Dead (2004), Zombieland (2009), Cloverfeild (2008), 28 days later (2002), Shaun of the Dead (2004)

Kurtis Keith

Hereditary (2018) Scream (1996)

Camilla's Corner

agh i do want to see that, I might have to keep in mind for next year! time-wise I hadn't planned far out enough for a tv show

Belthazor82

Yeah, I understand that it might be too much for your schedule on such short notice. I'm glad you want to check it out, though. You can always watch it some other time, too. Doesn't necessarily have to be for Halloween. Especially since he has other shows that are worth watching, too.

Warren Van Wyck

Goosebumps (2015) with Jack Black was surprisingly good.

Warren Van Wyck

I second Casper. I haven’t seen the other two.

Joe M

Get Out (2017), and my underrated vote goes to 1408 (2007).

Chris

Alien, Shaun of the dead (then hot fuzz and the worlds end after halloween), scream, Hereditary, the thing, Candyman (1992), 28 days later, night of the living dead.
