2026-10-11 20:00 Happy Sunday, Camilla. Scream (1996) is my all-time favorite horror film, alongside Halloween (1978) & I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997), because of how it deconstructs the genre as a whole. That's what makes it a fun not-so-scary horror comedy in my book. You should DEFINITELY continue with its five sequels. My favorite part of the movie will always be when Randy Meeks explains the rules of surviving a horror movie because you can't survive one if you don't follow the rules.

This is a great horror franchise. You should continue with the sequels. All the movies are good except maybe the last one. I particularly didn't love number 7 but it's still a strong series.

Scream is one of those movies that the more you know, the better it gets. once you see Black Christmas, The Slumber Party Massacre, even Child's Play, you get a better understanding of what it's doing

I like the mystery of these ones. First time I watched I thought Dewey was the killer.

A great start to this franchise. I definitely recommend everything up to Scream VI for future reactions. Scream 2 is my personal favorite for reasons I can’t spoil 🤐

Scream is just one of the best franchises in the horror genre. Not all the sequels are as good as the original, but that's to be expected. I definitely recommend watching them. Spacing them out is a good idea. Maybe a sequel every 2-3 months? That way it won't take you years to go through them while still leaving you plenty of time to watch other things in between and not get burned out on the franchise (or horror in general).

🎬✧˖°🎞️⊱𝓒𝓪𝓶𝓲𝓵𝓵𝓪⊰≽^•˕•^≼, I enjoyed the SCREAM! As well as your reaction lol, too bad you couldn't go full blast with the vocals but very cool your being considerate to the neighbors. The show does a good job of putting out a lot of possibilities to keep you guessing but honestly, the first 2 people most would suspect is Billy and Stuart but since they appear so obvious they'd be dismissed as it feels too on the nose. SAW (2004) is another franchise that believe it or not makes you think. Probably more so than scream, more than just gore and worth the watch.

Setting up Billy as the obvious Red Herring, then giving him a fake out death is such a great way to hide the killer in plain sight in a whodunnit. When you rewatch the movie, it's hilarious how obvious Billy and Stu are as the killers, but the movie does such a great job of making everyone a suspect and keeping you guessing it's easy to overthink it. That and the two killers twist are just too good. Glad you enjoyed this one! As many have said, the Scream franchise is genuinely very consistent. None of them quite live up to the original, but there is only one I would consider a bad movie (Scream 7). Hope you find time to stick with this series and react to the others.

Also, just a fun fact for this one. If you look at the posters and promotional material, this was really sold as a Drew Barrymore lead film as she was very popular at the time. And originally, she was actually cast as Sidney. But it was her idea to switch characters to be the opening death, Casey, but still promote the movie like she's the lead. So it was a massive surprise to the audience when the supposed lead that was all over the marketing died in the first 10 minutes of the movie.
