CIEA archive vol. 1 - warning sign (Patreon)

the CIEA archive returns with vol. 1. production started on 14/04/2018.i'll try not to post it too often, so to space out each post more. (and so it doesn't come off as filler.

apparently, CIEA was a "updates on wednesday" comic. i don't remember that...around this time, i could do a bunch of comic pages at once, in a row. the most was 6 pages across 2 days. that's at least 3 per day...i can't do that anymore. i don't know why.it's the proper debut of our wonderful lil' protagonist, childa innocha. not much of her attitude or writing has changed i think, but she has become less wordy. by that i mean her dialogue is a lot more curt and childish...in a way. you also get a glimpse of adala and the twins' mom.i'd rather talk about those two when the time comes to focus more on them...or whatever. i will say that a lot of adala's reflection on childa was cut and edited from this chapter and given to the new prologue i made, from childa's perspective via journal entry.there's a few different alt. pages here. a textless chapter cover, and non-black bg for page 15. i guess at the time, i didn't know if i wanted childa's mostly shaded silhouette to be obscured by the black bg. that's what i went with in the end anyways.compared to the original flipnote thumbnails, the chapter has been cut and edited down for a nice n' breezy 22 page intro chapter. i ain't comfortable sharing the first draft. (lol) there's some dialogue i wish i kept though. mostly in the last page.

it just fits her better, writing wise.

a part of me wonders if i was trying to "one-up" the first draft's writing by being more dramatic or wordy. less is more, ya know.

in the future, i wanna write and draw shorter and more concise chapters like this one for the sake of pacing and actually getting places plot wise.
