CIEA archive vol. 5.5 - perspective (Patreon)

...oh. oh yeah, that's what i was forgetting. this short intermission chapter is 13 pages long or so, and it was released on 21/04/2019.this one's in color. that's nice, i guess.

it starts with another entry into childa's journal.actually, i wanna make it a regular occurrence. but the pace i release pages and chapters at to warrant it makes it an a rarity instead. sigh.after a comment on good ol' smackjeeves about my terrible handwriting childa's terrible handwriting, i tried to clean it up a bit more while trying to maintain the chicken scratch look. it may or may not still be illegible.we don't usually get the luxury of perusing childa's thoughts on things, so her journal is a fair glimpse into her perspective...and biased summary. if she were to narrate the story as a whole, you'd find she's a very unreliable narrator. (lol)

if last chapter focused on cheri, this one's on purei.if anyone's characterization changed, it's her's. modern day, she's quite a bit different now. have you noticed?well......it's semi-intentional. i initially wrote her as a sweeter, one noter. as she warms up to and gets familiar with childa's antics, something in her shifts. in any case she becomes one of the first people to tolerate childa. how nice. it helps that childa and purei gets to talk to someone around their age. (though purei's roughly a year older.)

thanks to it's brevity, this chapter is in color.actually, maybe i should try that again. my coloring method's back then weren't exactly ideal. it also made me realize that i had to draw more backgrounds kinda, to fill the blank space i'd usually leave it as. so now there's a lot of odd color choices here and there.nowadays, i think i'd just say "fuck it" and leave it as a blank white space. maybe.coloring is a pain in the ass, so i'd rather stick with B&W. still, like i said, i would like to try my hand at another batch of color pages.

and that's about that for this one. short chapter means short entry. there's some more character interaction now outside of childa's, which is kinda nice i guess...but i wanna write more childa stuff.

this chapter was completed on 22/06/2022. why did such a short chapter take 2 months? alas, it's the last time we'll have such a quick production cycle for a chapter.

oh well.next up is the start of ARC 1; chapter 6 - mission start. see ya 'til then.
