It changed form to resemble a goat when he touched it...because that was cool.

It has a secondary ability to encrypt communication between wearers of similar masksAs for the primary ability?I was thinking about giving it some kind of 'sneak attack' ability booster that kicks in when an unaware creature is attacked, but that fits with the old no-face theme.Do we need a unique goat-themed ability or should we stick with a sneak-attack thingy? If you've got a suggestion, now's the time to gimmie, before it's set in stone. It can be:A: Goat-themedB: Non-goat themed. And that pretty much covers everything.BONUS:What other weapons/gear did No-face have on him?If you've played Diablo 3/4 that's the kind of gear we're looking for. an ability bonus, a resistance bonus, and/or a bonus to specific special abilities.Suggestions in the comments!

RedInkQuill

It has an ability that feeds off one of the wearers sacrifices randomly. In this case it was the gravity goat

RedInkQuill

It would do something else for loth

Daedalus

Maybe a bonus to attacks made from unexpected angles? Keep the ‘sneak attack’ core but make it more goatly

Joe ?

It takes part of your identity when active, and in exchange amplifies one of your sacrifices. So like maybe when in use it takes your name and makes you think goat like thoughts, but he can walk upside down like the gravity goat he saw could. No face had some kind of changeling as one of his sacrifices, which would be part of why he was talking as if he was a hopeless slave kind of before he died.

Jamarr

Maybe a percentage based chance to stun when attacking from stealth?

Enzo Elacqua

Yeah I like this one. Could also be that maybe it feeds off the most recent climber who touched its sacrifice, in this case Will, which alters the look of the thing. Would make it more of a versatile gear for Will, as he could have others touch it briefly giving him access to some rando ability

Enzo Elacqua

I feel like the obvious resistance would be to scrying if that’s a thing, or to like detection skills. Could be he has the whole memory wipe thing going on from a relic as well, or maybe a knock out gas if he primarily kidnaps. I also feel he would likely have outside of the other stuff a cool assassins tool kit which could be useful, like lock picks, daggers, etc.

Gaunt

Memetic property to blend in with a crowd Other gear? An Any Tool type relic maybe. High quality lock picks. Something to quickly bore through metal such as acid touch gloves. A sneak set of items. Disposable weapon: a stab and break rondel dagger.

Enigma Mask: A mask for spys and assassins. When worn the mask takes on the appearance of one the users sacrifices [Goat for will, some sort of faceless thing for No-Face]. When worn allows the user to communicate with users of a similar item on the same floor. With a charge all attacks made against an enemy who is unaware of you do double damage for 30 seconds. [Enigma is is inspired by the Coventry problem from ww2. The Nazi Enigma machine was cracked and supposedly Coventry wasn't evacuated in spite of The British being aware of it in order to make sure it's cracking was kept secret for strategic reasons].

Macronomicon

Ring that makes the audiovisual aspects of Ability use smaller/quieter/less visible.

rwn

Goats have 340ish degree vision, so maybe turning into a goat's head makes it grant that? Or keeping with the gravity goat theme, maybe some sort of gravity sense - it would be pretty hard to parse (there's a lot of gravity going on all the time), but theoretically it'd let you sense anything that interacts gravitationally, which defaults to "everything". If has an active ability, it'd turn him into a goat duh.

Crispined Glover Potato Snacks

Disposal Dagger: A spade shaped dagger useful for burials. When digging it becomes twice as easy and efficient to dig through soil. With a charge, when you stab this dagger into earth make a 6 by 6 By 6 cube of soft, sandy soil. [For Loth]

Opportunity Drive

I like a similar idea where it gives you an ability related to one of your sacrifices. It could give Will a devourer style ability, scary baphomet goat head let's him use a charge to eat mana/charge constructs/spells.

DrFumbles

I like the idea of the mask taking on an aspect of one of your sacrifices at random and then giving an enhancement or ability related to that sacrifice. For Will that is the Gravity Goat sacrifice. Possible ability is Goat Ram. Spend 1 Charge to charge forward dealing increased damage on your attack and giving a knock back effect.

DrFumbles

The charge could maybe even allow for non-horizontal movement (allowing him to use it midair or at enemies that are flying) to lean into the Gravity part of Gravity Goat.

Ed Je

It improves headbutting related attacks by 50%, and adding a charge allows you to grow goat horns that fall off if they take too much damage (like a maximum damage taken threshold). Could be abused to take infinite damage on the horn as a funky ultimate shield.

austin kutz

I just assumed it has a memetic effect that caused people looking at the wearer to feel that they weren't out of place, perhaps for charge, but maybe not if it's a high enough ranked item

Macronomicon

that was one of No-faces primaries, and he took items that synergized with that. I should add that to the description...

austin kutz

Makes since if he's a specialized rogue type with more of a focus on infiltration than combat. I guess with the mask being so flashy (the most noticeably magical item we've seen so far) it's easy to ascribe No-Face's power to it BTW, please finish WotR. I figured out a way for you to get yourself unstuck from the corner you wrote yourself into: Calvin puts everyone he cares about, his magic tower, and all the best talents of the world into one of his bottles and travels through the abyss himself or the Fractal Mimic (AKA Learners mom) carries the bottle with all of them in it to another siphon in another world. Since distance and time are purely subjective in the abyss, the travel time should be instant, in theory.

GOAT FRIENDSHIP POWER /the power to tame goats

Greg Wheatley

Either head butt or the power to eat anything.

In-Game_Name

If the masks tend provide some sort of stealth ability, the mask could come with the ability to shapeshift into a goat. It could any type of goat the bearer has seen or maybe eaten.

Edmango

I like the idea of taking an aspect of one of the sacrifices, specifically goat. I'm down for anything on the vein of this!

Ranger Science

I mean. Clearly it’s now the Mask of William Oh, Greatest Of All Time! Dexterity bonus, and a two-second look ahead? (spider sense) Costs a charge, and auto-procs on lethal damage - if you want to play with time puns.

Nathan Ganesan

Since Will obviously needs to be a full satyr by the time he catches up with his parents, I say the mask let's him gain various buffs from licking different minerals, like a goat standing on the face of a cliff.

Ellija

Visage of the Sacrifice: Use charge to cycle the visage through the wearers sacrifices, the selected sacrifice's primary power is used to attempt to make the wearer less conspicuous. Gravity Goat: Terrain and cover grows to limit visibility of wearer. (some synergy with boots?) Uru Drake: Not sure but something related to magical senses sliding off the wearer maybe? William O: Fame Inversion, the more people in the area know of the wearer the less able they are to connect them with their name or description.

Josh Cothran

It should grant him regenerative properties as long as he eats goat meat with it on 🤣

Cyrus McEnnis

I'd say the most valuable and in keeping with the properties of the mask shown thus far - a passive block to identification. However, if we want to perhaps build towards a set bonus - the ability to set off an AOE burst on hitting a target is always nice. Or you could tie it to the fainting goat and have people in range of a bleat fall over in a faint.

Cyrus McEnnis

As far as No-Name's gear is concerned - given his primary focus and his role as a noob-snatcher, bonuses to stealth & dominance would be expected. Perhaps some crowd control abilities to go with the memory-wipe.

Melody Haren Anderson

It seems it somewhat tailors its form and likely powers to the user, which is why it's a goat. The way it seems it likely sort of shows weaknesses, and allows a bonus to exploiting them based on the user... probably allowing a charging headbutt. As for his equipment, probably debuffs to incapacitate No-Face's targets.

Fucking Shracc

Intimidation aura, and a stomp AOE attack which also boosts the aura effect for a charge.

Kote's chronicles

Increased vision in distance but lose some ability to see above. Like a goats eye shape. (-).(-) I know the point of his character is synergy of items so maybe... Steel jaw and teeth to increase ability to eat anything for some form of nutrition. Eat lower tier forms of metal? Maybe add a temp bonus from odd things he eats. Eat dagger get piercing dmg to punch from 1 remaining hand? Obvious would be ethereal ram horns summoned when you head butt. Like dungeon Carl's gauntlets. Reinforced skull from blunt force trauma, like a rams skull. Less brain damage. Boring but best powered would probably be a flat or percentage bonuse to skills from his goat themes sacrifice. Dumb and silly, but In a bad way, would be to modify his...droppings to be the clean pellets.... Please don't do something along those lines. Get enough of that kinda thing from Dr Kong. Non goat themed. Some form of vision enhancement such as low light or maybe just eyes adapt to light changes quickly. Steel jaw

Kote's chronicles

I like the idea of the eating for bonus as it means he may need to eat loot. So now his stomach and hand require continues sacrifices of loot of money.

Metool

On the theme of goats and sneak attack, it enhances leg strength outside of combat. So it could give you a first strike if an opponent is unaware and it has utility.

Michael

Mask of the GOAT: Primary ability: Changes the eyes and skull of the user while wearing the mask. Goat eyes, greatly increasing field of view. (No drawback, as it’s the primary ability) Skull increasing durability of the head and neck to prevent fractures, while growing horns to further increase damage dealt. Bonus to strength, agility/endurance. Passive bonus: minerals deposits are easier to locate.

MurkyTruths

Goated mask: tiny, stacking bonus to all ungulate related skills and abilities. This builds of fairly slowly but could have a high max stack limit (ie max stacks letting him get footing on a cloud or balance on a pine needle.) stacks disappear upon removal of the mask, and the cool down is in inverse proportion to the time spent wearing the mask.

Alphanos

Primary ability: Identity obfuscation, like the gray cowl of nocturnal from Oblivion's Thieves Guild questline. When donning the mask, everyone (enemies and allies alike) perceive the wearer as a separate second individual. This second identity persists across wearings.

StrollingEye

I reckon the cool 'looks like a Goat' aspect comes from being touched by someone with Gravity Goat as a part of their build. Someone else touching it would provide hints to their build. Perhaps it gives, as a power, simple info of other folks' build in confusing but vaguely helpful tactile/appearance ways?

Baines

local body gravity is always normal to the soles of your feet

Stephen E Wilson Jr.

Vision thing makes sense to me. Makes people ignore you and expands your field of view.

Deinos

I know! It becomes sentient and makes dick & missing hand jokes!

Darren Deloach

Goat eyes - increased preception ability

Cj

I know I kinda joined this one late, but what if the mask could have different effects or stat boosts depending on the sacrifice it’s mimicking
