It's gotta be Steve the inveterate trickster, because of all of them they have the best ability to disguise and it would be way easier to run away when everyone is looking for an older man instead of the woman that they are. Mason could also be one, but only because they probably have the money to afford something to help with hiding.

Josiah Elliott

Actually Loth would work too as no one knows much about Kobolds and maybe Loth is actually a beautiful example of a woman in Kobold culture.

Conor

"What's your opinon on female divers?" Asked by Loth lol Foreshadowing.

Exrotes

If we do get a Loth reveal it gets immediately followed up with both of them agree that there never will be any attraction because Will sees Loth as a scaly midget and Loth sees Will as a spongy fleshed bipedal pig.

Macronomicon

Yeah, i felt like it was too overt when i wrote it. Might have to tone it down, lol

rwn

Mason would have zero reason to do that on purpose - he's way too self-involved to consider being someone else. That being said I could totally see Mason as a girl who just doesn't realize everyone assumes she's a boy, because she's too self-involved.

Joshua Gunty

I kind of like pretty much any of these, but Loth feels like it would be fun.

Cozy Book Corner

I thought about commenting myself but this was my immediate thought too

bradyman50

I'm pretty sure that's the kind of thing that matters less and less as they go up levels and become made of magic or whatever

austin kutz

Loth already confirmed that female kobolds look almost identical to male kobolds. He's got no reason to be a female kobold disguised as a male kobold in human lands.

austin kutz

Or because her dad made her wear a disguise tool because he saw terrible fates befall many female climbers

6th option: Macronomicon

Dee

I think Loth would both be be in line with the character. It’d make sense to me if Loth decided to present as male because human society tends to respect males more and wouldn’t know how to tell if Loth was lying or not. There’s also the irony of the trap master being a trap. 😂

Deinos

Seconded

Gaunt

Kobold! Kobold! Kobold! You teased us with the big horned deisel drinker. The shapeshifter never got explicitly freaky. It would be a delight to get to see some scale polishing goin on.

Joshua Gunty

Fair, unless Loth was lying and female Kobolds look decidedly NOT like males, and they've been hiding away their females/made it culturally taboo or actually forbidden for them to leave their homelands.

Joshua Gunty

If that were the case now William needs to deal with the fact that any kobold they see has a chance of causing a real problem for them because of Loth, but I suspect Williams not going to stand for misogyny and would have Loth's back. I think it would be pretty compelling plot.

Ranger Science

oh oh Loth is "secretly" a girl b/c kobold, but now *Will* has to be secretly a boy b/c disguise. Shenanigans ensue!

Daemion

The only option that makes sense here is Loth, all the others can't really be female... unless they suddenly have an artifact of genderbending? That being said... Loth already raised the topic and it honestly wouldn't really change anything because his/her gender doesn't matter. ... and since it doesn't really matter, perhaps we don't need it at all?

Frank

Look, if you want to go the harem root it’s gonna be a lot of effort to establish enough new girls when you already have the majority of the first characters as dudes. But! If you genderbended Will that would allow a reverse harem to be pretty easily established! Now the recurring Bakery thoughts might conflict with that, but it’d be pretty funny for none of them to actually mean the double entendres involved. In conclusion, Make Will a girl, it’d be both easier and funny.

Joe ?

It's weird that a lot the replies seem to be skipping over the fact that Loth was always secretly a girl. You have included so much foreshadowing for this that it would be weirder if she wasn't. She's made a bunch of references to it and even gets clearly jealous any time Will shows other women attention, like when she talked him into picking Steve as their priest. Their first interaction talking about kobold courtship even kind of hinted at it.

The fact that you're framing it as a girl in disguise already tells me that you aren't thinking trans character which I think is a shame you should at least consider it, but if you do decide to do something like this, I think you should take it seriously. I don't really know what form you are going with this, but a trans character could be super cool especially a trans man. I would find it kind of tiresome if it was just a ohh gender roles are limiting so I decided to play a man. Especially in a world with stats where they dictate your final strength more than any biological predisposition. I don't know I'm just tired of sexism in all fantasy even when it doesn't make sense.

Deinos

I vote for 7: Futanari

StrollingEye

Reword it to ask how many genders there are with you soft skins ...

Josh Cothran

How’s it sexism to not include a demographic that is typically less than 1% of the population? Like, I get it, you wanna virtue signal, but a lot of people don’t really want political shit in the things they read for enjoyment

B

The answer is gonna be all of them isn't it

TheLost

Its clearly Loth the moment they talked about females horns being grabbed then pointed to there own horns

The Golem Crafter

Thank God you understand Josh lol. Most people find that stuff uncomfortable to read about and I really don't want political or virtue signaling crap in the fantasy books a read.

BlaueFeder

he also talked about his preferences with women though...

BlaueFeder

I stay firm with my vote: Oh god, please NO!

David Giles

I don't recall that character.
