We're gonna have six rounds and I'd like a few of the other contenders have a few surprises/gimmicks of their own that Will has to think on his feet to defeat.I'm interested in interesting Abilities, and cool synergies between Relics and Abilities, I.E. Builds.Tragic backstories not necessary, but welcome.

Comments

Jimmy Oneil

A character thats basically a prototype raiden from mk series

Jimmy Oneil

Lightning, teleporting, enhanced strength, has a actual fighting style

Melody Haren Anderson

It occurs to me, what about one of them being a spider themed Kobold. Rather than using insects like Loth, they have thread weaving and similar abilities for self made traps. It'd make a lot of sense, and be uncommon enough to get far. Will might have problems, except he's seen what a clever Kobold can do. Probably with some sort of storage device that is limited to silk/thread products, letting them prepare and deploy traps almost instantly. Probably need some sort of way to hide them without the prep time.

Michael

Bring back someone who got the toad sacrifice from the first floor. Tank synergistic between taking a hit and dealing a debuff at the same time. Could be a Wyrd variant around debuff instead of thorns, like a climber attempting to mimic the Wyrd family. Primary abilities: Mucus Creation, Warty Skin. Secondary Abilities: Toad Gullet, Acid Bath. Slows you with Mucus that synergizes with other slow relics to stop opponents, then eats and burns with acid. The slow helps allies avoid damage. Warty Skin to help avoid small cases of damage that would otherwise slowly build up over time. Can’t cause ‘death by a thousand cuts’ without dealing more at a time.

sedael

necromancer who attempts to steal the very enthusiastic minions of Will only for those minions to actually be under will's control the entire time and betray the necromancer in the most cliche'd bit of all time

Josiah Elliott

Idea one: some sort of shape-shifting like rubber arms and being able to quickly change shape, and maybe a relic that allows them to add or shift mass so that the can make the equivalent of a 1000 pound club out of their arm Idea two: throwing weapon based with synergies via an item that adds energy to thrown items , one that makes the ricochet more, and one that protects from self damage Idea three: just the opposite philosophy of William, rooted in place, extremely high physical damage, sends others away from them, all the works Idea four: A chubby baker girl with dough golem just so Will gets that conflicted feeling when fighting, maybe like a dough hydra

AI Doomer Pop (e/ak)

Someone with mirror match powers who is just very very very confused as to what the heck is going on when he turns them on.

Ed Je

Can we get someone who is hard to percieve, by using taunt abilities that have been inverted by the effects of relics? He also inverts healing into a direct dna damage causing cancer and malformation that cant be blocked? Hes an inverse paladin with a dark appearence but interally a timid and sensitive attitude towards life. His tragedy is that the only relic he has of his parents is the one that inverts his abilities and is the reason everyone mispercieves him, but he knows that the relic is the only key to see his parents again.

Michael

Potential Rival: Storm Monk Primary Abilities: Metal Skin/body, Magnetic Field/Lightning ability? Secondary Ability: Heat Venting, Metal Skin combined with Magnetic control would allow incredible speed and power, with a downside of rapid heat generation. Relics to help boost speed and limit heat would help keep the damage up longer. Secondary would ease heat build up, potentially turning it into an additional attack.

David Weller

A necromancer who controls all his corpses by (nearly) invisible puppet strings. Because of the puppet string weakness, his corpses are extra tough and excellent fighters.

Thomas Issa

Other obvious attempts from the church of Garesh to kill Will

Michael

For fun: ‘Baker’ Girl Makes illusions and focus on debuff that make the target act like they are 3 edibles. ‘Me and my three weed smoking girl friends’ meme

Cyrus McEnnis

Ok. Diablo-based gaming system. Favorite builds: Teleporting wizard who's pumped their fireball spell to an absolutely ridiculous extent. Main weakness is AOE damage close. Has a tendency to set herself on fire. Javazon. Javelin wielding Amazon specced into chain lightning such that the lightning bounces between targets including himself. Weak 1 v 1 due to taking damage on the bounces esp. if Will steals a lightning damage reduction relic, very strong against multiple targets. Magic Find Barbarian. Specced entirely into finding relics more often. Completely useless on his own, but his relics? Top notch and he has money to burn. Corpse Explosion Necromancer. Another edge case in a tournament as she needs corpses to start with, but I'm picturing someone with a trebuchet loaded with dead cows trying to make her mark. Dodge tank monk. Ridiculously low damage output, matched by absolutely insane survivability. Relies on calmness and zen to function, Will gets to use plan: annoying orphan to make them loose their temper and the match. A lot of my other favorite specs are already represented in the Party of Oh - most notably, Loth. Gotta love a minion based trap class >.>

Edmango

A little girl whose skills focus heavily on charm and getting people to do what she wants, like politely asking them to leave, but when it fails she just throws fireballs and is effectively an off brand nuker

Josh Cothran

One of them should be evil and die. I volunteer as tribute

Helix

Buffer/debuffer. Reduces stats and effectiveness of abilities. All while empowering themselves. Think rigging the scales.

Josh Cothran

One of them should be a huge fan thanks to Jason and yield as soon as the match begins 🤣😂😂

Crispined Glover Potato Snacks

A trainer class. They have the ability pacify and adopt monsters but they only want cute ones for branding purposes. For example, they have a heckhound, which is just a corgi made of flaming fur and their tongue licks boil your face off.

Dax

An invisible, flying nuker that does AoE damage to points in space rather than throwing bolts that give away their position. A teleporting hulk of a man with immense regeneration and strength. A speedster Rogue that creates perfect clones of themselves. The clones can also explode. A gravity mage that uses continuous ramping effects to crush opponents, and debuffs to hamper any resistance. Metaphor of overcoming his own past build. A blade master with both psychic magic and illusion magic, to confuse, disorientate, bait, and provoke. Very fun house mirror room.

Vinohr

A body swapper with deliberately low stats could make for an interesting fight. Force Will entirely out of his element

Patrick

I wouldn't mind seeing a few trope characters thrown in. Like a cultivator type arrogant young master using either a jian (Chinese sword) or a spear for instance. Some movement techniques and air magic techniques where it looks like he is from one of those wuxia hong Kong martial arts movies like Crouching Tiger Hidden dragon or House of Flying Daggers

ShamefullCat

Totemic warrior of the honey badger. Vicious, unrelenting, and able to shrug damage. This fighter loves a good scrap and let's their aggression lead. This gives William a good target to try tricks on but their willingness to headbutt Death can be an unexpected counter.

JTP

Rock lee style fighter. Physical abilities that have will looking for relics, but no, just ludicrous conditioning, and super low mental stats. Portal sniper. I'm rubber you're glue. Classic berserker. Bodybuilder mage Blue dragon

Crispined Glover Potato Snacks

A rebounder class. They have insane endurance and are built to take a huge amount of damage, then in one-punch pass all the damage to their target. Downsize is that if they dont pass the damage quickly enough they could become unconscious or die from it.

Crispined Glover Potato Snacks

Alchemist Lady deathstrike. They take a potion that would be harmful, like a poison or debuffer, and inject it into their target from the syringe needles they grow from their fingertips.

Ricky Kukowski

a Bard who's buffs/debuffs increase based on how many people are watching/listening. similar to our Taunter but instead a buffer/debugger.

Daemion

A tank with extreme resistance, very heavy plate armor and relics that give him all kinds of protection and regeneration. Basically an unmoveable object that directly counters Will's low strength. Perhaps a bard or musician. Sound based AoE attacks. Shockwaves that double as offense and defense, making it difficult to get close. The sound/music does psychic damage. A Nuker whose explosions leave toxic gas behind and who can teleport from gas cloud to gas cloud. Given enough time the entire arena would be covered, suffocating any opponent. Someone extremely lucky and/or drunk boxing. Stumbling out of the way of any attack, accidently slapping the opponent... but they need to drink alcohol the entire time to keep the effect active. A little girl who is an hardcore brawler and much, much stronger than she looks. Nothing fancy, just pure skill at taking people apart piece by piece. Or maybe more martial. The art of folding clothes while the people are still in them.

Karma

Look at the top stories on Patreon and have him fight their protagonist! Or even your own stories like Perry.

Exrotes

Carrie shows up having found a Sacrifice that lets her black glob of power eat relics and imbue the effects onto other pieces of clothing (Fashionista theme) for sick combo's like putting weapon effects on gloves to proc them on top of the effect of whatever weapon she's holding. Some guy with a slasher villain build made up of a minor psychic damage or fear aura and a powerful regen ability (something like a hydra sacrifice) and either a relic or a mutation that lets him empower one ability based on the effectiveness of the other so the more he regenerates the higher his psychic damage goes and the more damage he deals the better he is at regenerating. Just as a setup for Will to call BS on infinite loops that were just brought up.

Robert Nolan

A pugilist with a fire body power and rooting abilities. Aspect of the Salamander give her literal flaming arms or possibly full body flames along with fire immunity; Umbral Grasp from a lovcraftian horror sacrifice lest her manifest shadow tenticals out of the ground that aren't constrained by dimensionality thus countering Will's dimension dodge. Don't got a good name for the third core power but an elastics knock back on punching someone so she can hit hard enough to knock them away and they get pulled back so she can hit them again like a speed bag. For relics, her boots let her "skate" rapidly in a line leaving a trail of fire behind her allowing her to close with or coral her apponent. One ring and bazubands(long armored bracers) add to the knock back effect. Her other ring allows her to extend her flames out 20 feet in a jet. Armor is elemental resistance. Her cloak converts to a throwing net if Will goes up. Her circlet allows the shadows cast by her flames to empower her shadow tenticals. In the end her build is about closing with an enemy and beating them to fiery paste. Will's challenge would be either keeping he away or overpowering her speed bag combo.

Mariposa

He needs to fight a magical innkeeper, a Naruto wannabe, a cursed bard for being where they shouldn't be, a monster tamer, a barbarian that thinks he's a rogue.

hasrul naim

A rogue archetype with abilities revolving around luck... increase the chances for his opponent to fumble or misfire their abilities, while increasing his chance for critical strike

Matt

A grappler barbarian built around breaking his opponent with his bare hands by rending their flesh and breaking their bones. Enhancements include: Mobility Enhancements, Grabbing Enhancements and massive increases to strength, with a few secondary enhancements to rending and bleeding. Uses berserk effects to ignore pain and mental conditions as well as gain limited resistance to damage.

Derek Engols

Someone speed focused, like a rogue/ranger. Specifically someone who would struggle to handle getting yanked into projectile trails/needs space to perform. Someone who is literally a turtle of a tank. So defensive that debuffing them down to 0 Makes the most sense. A literal hard counter. Alternate class of the first fight, a trapper sort of class that doesnt hold a candle to Loth, But focuses on trapping people into an area or maybe someone who uses something similar to an iron maiden? Either way, it'd be hilarious if LoS and stepping out of their trap renders them useless. Like "This whole build is meant to restrain someone completely in this box." And between having minions who can mess up parts of the trap or even open said "box", He's able to just ignore it. I want some niche enough builds that you can see how they would fit into floor/team comps or a reader can see how they exist in the general ecosystem of that floor. Alternatively, could do some spectating of other fights. Loth commenting on another trapper, regardless of how narrow/singular their thinking on could be fun.

StrollingEye

Fighter/nuker. Stephanie Lacewing - Has line of sight attacks in a light sabre style style that start 6 metres /8 foot from her body and is about 4 foot long, which moves with her gestures, or her eyesight. A bit like a broomstick staff, but remote from her hands. Acts like a defence and like a weapon but is either stabbing or smashing or burning energy. She has to see the environment they are in to work effectively. She thought ahead, and bought boots to nullify Home Field (ice) advantage - lava-boots, which melt through the hoarfrost onto stadium floor. Doesn't think they really need to move, just casually stands there and delivers blows. Loves causing damage. Just feels delight at gouts of steaming ice and tendrils molten lava. Can take a hit too, wears treasure of epic level lace 'undergarments of protection n purity', (not at all sexy lace, utilitarian and durable, think knee to elbow undergarments with tragic flap at back for ablutions) atop which is cheap tarnished armour. Has lacewing familiar flying around (a lace hankerchief?) which nullifies the phantom hand or the butler duo, but not both. Other hand Weapons: something flashy destructive, and maybe an attack on standard level clothes/armour attachments, so they fall to bits around you.

Jacob

A summoner who can duplicate matter, create, giant wasps, and can body hop between them.

StrollingEye

You mean a wasp based body teleport?

Tetrasimplex

I would love to see someone with some sort of slow powers. My idea was a person who has a relic that can copy some sort of slowness debuff (maybe something like frozen? or some sort of glue effect) onto an enemy (William Oh) from themselves, bypassing defenses to do so. They then also have something that continually slows them down almost to nothing, think 95% slowness, or 1/20th of the speed, ensuring both fighters are much slower. Then, their actual class is based of of telekinetic magical effects, such as moving objects, or magic projectiles, that they can control with their mind or small hand signals or something similar, which allow them to bypass the slowness effect. If you wanna get really spicy, make it so that the slowness can be copied onto any number of abstract targets that count as 'not allies' such as enemy attacks, thrown weapons, projectiles, the environment, relic effects, abilities, etc.

rwn

I mean, it's a joke - that's part of the power set of another Macronomicon MC

Trebuchet

All time favorite Diablo build is orbiting ball lightning.

Opportunity Drive

A guy with nun chucks that has limited foresight and deflects missiles and breaks bones!

David Burchfield

I like the idea of a Character that gets stacking buffs the longer they stay in combat against an opponent (Call it Nemesis), the buff starts with buffing stats but can eventually give resistances, modify abilities, ect all geared towards the opponent they are fighting(the late more nuanced and strong buffs are the results of upgrades). Their other ability is geared around survival (it is a passive adaptation ability that gives stacking resistances to types of damage they have suffered) (The Adaption Upgrade increased the number of things they could get resistance to, originally it worked against physical damage, expanded to include energy based attacks, and status effects). Their secondary ability works like a Kaio-ken a short term charge intensive {all they can use it on) buff they can use at key moments to survive or overwhelm a foe. Backstory could be anything, but I like a diligent climbing orphan (who paid attention and took notes during their state mandating classes on climbing). They aren't smart but have good instincts and came up with a relatively simple build with heavy passives, good survivability, and a good trump card for holding one till their buffs stack up, or launching an overwhelming attack (I.E. what they were advised to do and well suited for their temperment and skill set).

StrollingEye

Sounds a lot like the Boar from before, but the boat scale strength with anger. How would this Honey Badger be different from the Boar?

austin kutz

And then Will knocks them down like Indiana Jones shooting a master swordsman?

Ral

Monk archetype focused of croud control. Abilities like stunning strike, disengage, knockback, disarm. Punch in the same spot get extra dmg. Hight Kinesthetics, speed, strength, mid low resistance. Something to surprise Will is maybe an opponent that can tether/grapple and fly/air jump to pull opponents out of bounds.

MurkyTruths

A taunter with an illusion focus

StrollingEye

Ah, I thought it was a riff of, but not directly based off, our Kobold friend.

Benjamin Walsh

Aspect of the Toad with a tongue whip attack that can stick to a person; jump high; and maybe do a terrain change to a swamp or something where they get the benefit of active camouflage from a relic.

Got Heem 11

Someone who can see wills phantom hand

Enzo Elacqua

I feel like it’d be funny if the reason Will struggled so much against him is because his two butlers constantly nagging him counts as combat. Could show the flaw in over relying on one plan or something, and would be kind of hilarious.

Enzo Elacqua

I’d like the idea of someone transforming into a huge monster (not quite kaiju but eventually) and with a side ability of every time they change size their relics (and effects) do to. So homefield advantages effect grows ten times larger, a weapon massively grows in size, etc. Feel like they match the vibe of the floor while still remaining challenging

Macronomicon

personality sounds like Deku from My Hero academia.

Macronomicon

'folding clothes while people are still in them' got me good. good battle-maid power specifically for PVP.

Heedless

The key is to have a mix of fun "Will trivializes the fight by lateral thinking" types and "Simple mix of powers gives Will fits" types. My suggestion for the latter is a monk archetype - primaries of grace/power upgraded into perfect balance, and of damage resistance upgraded into debuff resistance. Secondary of regeneration. Will's abilities simply slide right off as they just keep coming for him.

God

It would be hillarious if he fought a William clone. It could be Hilliam Wo.

King Eater

"Who do you think you are? I AM!"

Daemion

I wish I could take credit but it refers to Jiu Jitsu: The gentle art of folding clothes while people are still in them. Called like that because of the grappling moves. Also known as "involuntary yoga".

Tim Deral

Well let's see here, you've already made him the bad guy. And the end enemy will be the grandson (arrogant young master template). So I would say you should probably put in 2-3 strong characters against him and have them get their own teams. This way you also got world building down the road with friendly rivals etc. Also: I think writing the taunt lines was actually hilarious and I'd love to see another. Perhaps also someone like the super speed assassin from one punch man ?

Ral

Paladin shouting his voice activated abilities, then Will is like "pocket sand."

Tim Deral

I was referring to the actual sentences of the guy with the bells. You see- actual Sentences with taunts you very rarely see and that's why I appreciated them. But seriously: speed o sound sonic would be fun too !

ShamefullCat

This is a very good point that I entirely missed. I'd have to think about it more.

Ryan Bimson

Spanish themed bard with castanets that form semi-real/physical illusory beast heads that bite at will in time with the beat. Could have many relics that allow for music making, some ideas include: tap dance shoes that blink them a short distance, cape with bells that causes a blur/mirror image effect (dnd 5e esque), a talking hat backup singer that can activate their bardic magic as if it was themselves singing, exploding maraca mace (chick-chicky boom, chick-chicky boom)

Acoga

A beast master that can summon a bunch of squirrels that initially look like pushovers until they enter berserking mode that makes their eyes glow red, they grow fangs and bladelike claws
