Okay, so by my count, Will has 2 primary, 2 secondary, and 1 tertiary slots available. Here's a list of the last known offering of Abilities. Some things to keep in mind: any new Ability will either be a secondary or tertiary ability. Can't select any new primaries, only upgrade them.Tertiaries cannot be upgraded, so Will HAS to pick at least 1 new tertiary Ability. We also need suggestions for upgrades for Uru Drake's Eye, in the format of: Monster/Effect. No guarantee If i'll use them or not, I just don't have a solid idea of how to make the Ability better yet.I currently have a handful of ideas for things Will can upgrade his Primaries with: #1, His right hand, in order to have 2 Phantom Hands and increase the number of slots to 10, allowing for him to give powerful Relics to many more Vassals without hampering his build. This won't remove the Class on his right hand. The reason why his left doesn't have anything is because he was missing the hand when the class was applied, so it kind of thinks that's the way it's supposed to be.#2, The predator. It will be able to give miasma effects to either Map or Aspect of the Serpent. more on that later when we run into it.#3 Something that allows him to modify relics in Phantom Hand ( i only really want this to eventually upgrade the butlers. if there's a better way, gimmie an idea)#4 Something that lets him use the manifested Relics? (Honestly this might be way too OP to allow)As always, more suggestions welcome! And without further ado, here's the list of unclaimed Abilities that you can base your suggestions off of. No guarantee it's complete, or in order.

Titans grasp could be will answer to killing monsters. It would allow him to hold big old honking weapons that could slay a mother dragon. It would make it so you wouldn’t need to add another warrior to the party. It also might have cool interactions with phantom hand.

Bigguyman

I don't expect this to be used, but Will could sacrifice a part of Simon to Phantom Hand, and it can assimilate with other people.

Andrew

Don't know what monster you could sacrifice, but an interesting upgrade for the eye could be to slightly alter the miasmic structures he sees. It could allow him to upgrade the butlers over time by altering the structure of the miasmic pattern. Of course if he gets the alteration wrong the structure can become chaotic and have... Undesirable effects. So he is going to have to experiment and study before making permanent changes to any of his gear. An interesting aspect might be he could eventually try to alter his own miasmic structures to avoid his fate.

Kath

The astral thread seems incredibly synergistic. It makes gravity a terrain (maybe kind of if it is enhanced enough). It might also allow Will to study miasma better by studying a very simple skill (simple and weak effect). Also if it is chosen as secondary it could probably be upgraded to cover a lot of area and as such scale his terrain manipulation that way.

Ed Je

Maybe a qualitative size increase to the storage of phantom hand? Maybe changes the size requirement into a mass limit where he can toggle the mass stored to become part of his own at will. Interacts with dimensional oyster to make it so it still a addidive series limit to the mass stored.

Cozy Book Corner

My first thought was on the map - giving the ability to edit the map and have it reflected in the terrain in the tower as long as it's the same [limiter of some kind]. You alluded to something similar with the supply support who could retroactively turn materials in their ledger to other things as long as they were the same size.

Trey

titan’s grasp feels like it would be a solid secondary choice and he could sacrifice something to make it work with miasma. blood binding and molt both seem like solid tertiary options

Arnon Parenti

Uru Eye mostly seem to have no focus, maybe add some sort of lensing effect like tracing Miasma structures to their source or doing something with scope of miasmic structures, so he can see both future and past of what the structure is and will be if left undisturbed. Kind of like The Game of Life where you let structures live by simple rules and see what will happen to them, this can lead Will to the origin of the system if he traces back the right miasmic molecule.

CoveringStorm

Dragon part sacrifice to map: 40 charges; Mark a section of the map as your domain, within this domain charge regenerates fully within 6 days for you and your vassals. While the domain is active you recieve information about the abilities used within your domain. (Could be interesting if he marks himself as his domain and then uses the map to study is own abilities more)

Jk

I’ve always thought the counterspell aspect of phantom hand is really cool but a little underused. It seems like upgrading that as they start to face more monsters with debuffs/active abilities might be smart Maybe instead of countering the spells, the hand can store them for later? Monster: Spell-stealer gibbon Sacrifice: monkey’s paw. Allows phantom hand to store non-corporeal or miasmatic structures and release them again at will. This way it doesn’t get powercrept by will learning magic, because storing the spells and having them in phantom hand is still useful.

Chris

For modifying relics in phantom hand.... could have him find some kind of what would normally be a throwaway item that let's you cosmetically affect a finger or hand... thinking nail polish. That he can somehow misuse to modify the effect attached to whatever finger. Might be too broken though

Trey

dragon part sacrifice for uru eye- make what you see your domain. allows him to manipulate it even easier. big synergy with him being able to see miasma and manipulate it more

Garnet of Flame

Linguistic Mastery: Passive, Gain comprehension of all languages comparable to that of your native tongue. While this does trivialize the deal with the dragon, I feel like it fits his World Traveler class, would be all around useful, and might lead to some nonsense if he ever considers miasma to be/have a language.

David Burchfield

Something like a medusa or basilisk (serpent theme) that would allow him to petrify the miasmic or dimensional structures he is looking at (counterspell, dimensional lock type effect), would need some sort of resistance and skill to use or it would be too OP. Keeps with his serpent and pvp theme.

Thomas

Aspect of the Goat upgrade using sacrifice from Stephen the Indigestible. Their digestive system becomes able to process food unfit for human consumption, -> Their digestive system becomes able to process anything and will consume that which tries to digest them, OP upgrade will solve the tower killing him by letting William eat the tower, or dimensional shifts, or even miasma, or terrain, or fear or . . . So freaking OP. I'm not sure if this is still the wording of William's primary ability.

David Burchfield

I think consuption as a primary is just too good. He could both get bespoke relics with sourdough and possibly resuse them with the right sacrifices.

Frotzy

Simon seems like a crazy synergy with sourdough, indigestable... maybe allow relics to be recreated from dust, with some imitation, or something that allows him to push custom relics even further.

McIntosh Ewell

Deceiver's Molt is the one I'm most interested in him gaining

Gorane

It has been aspect of the inmortal serpent for 150 chapters by now btw

Thomas

I didn't remember the new name and found it on RR in chapter 5, because I couldn't remember what it was called, but I remembered what it did. The abilities aren't mentioned by name that much anymore only what the effect they have is because almost everything William Oh does now is a cantrip.

Macronomicon

'too good' is problematic from a writing standpoint, lol.

CoveringStorm

I don’t know exactly what you want to change about the butlers, but instead of an ability that you can use to modify relics in the hand what about some kind of sacrifice that changes how buffs in the hand apply to the relics? Right now it’s just a flat multiplier based on acuity but what if will could chose to modify only certain parts of relics within his hand (welcome to the nightmare of sliding stats) or perhaps sacrificing parts of things within his hand already to modify other things within his hand. Be it a specific attribute or an entire item. This is starting to sound like a derivative of consumption. What about upgrading phantom hand with essentially consumption but only for relics within his hand. I don’t think that sourdough would be able to save the relics and then another primary upgrade could modify consumption for more finesse. This seems expensive upgrade wise though.

Kath

For Uru Drake's Eye: A "meteor eagle" would give better detail and motion blurry resistance, An "ironbark chameleon" could give better spatial awareness and/or independent eye control, A "prismatic butterfly" for more photoreceptors (see more colors => better able to differentiate miasma structures and illusions, An "amber dragonfly" for motion vision and high speed processing and better targeting. I hope these are useful inspiration. (They are based on actual animal facts from my quick research.)

Kath

For his Fantom Hand, maybe the ability to store the immaterial/non-solids or ghosts of the recently dead that can be released to be summoned. This ties in with making the butler ghosts better (summon a butler then capture it then release it stronger with stat scaling) (obviously ghosts from a necromancer would resist this). This could lead to slotting abilities (miasma being immaterial) instead of items, shortcut his miasma structure studying/storing curses or blessings by capturing them directly without giant bone crystal or massively expand storage because gasses can be compressed in storage and then be released at high pressure/explosively (liquids are better if they are compressed with his ability). Maybe store fear this way to make teleportation caches.

RAQN

Wasn't two phantom hands offered as a class advancement upgrade? To be able to get it outside of that seems to cheapen the class advancement rewards, imo. A simple Uru Drake Eye upgrade would be to let him filter what he wants to see. It's valuable because he would be able to identify exactly what the Tower labels each thing, along with other benefits. The upgrade can be a bird since some species can toggle aspects of their vision, essentially. Honestly, though, does it even need an upgrade? It does everything he wants from it already. As a whole, Will's main weakness right now is lacking a powerful offensive option compared to fighter/swordsman builds. He also lacks versatility in extended fights because of his hand's long cooldown for swapping. If he can't stat check something, and they have counters to his main gimmicks, he's suddenly extremely lacking from my POV. Consumption as a tertiary or a secondary with one upgrade could solve a lot of the problems. He crafts a few items for their abilities and then uses them. It even scales with resistance so he can have Explosive Sourdough equipped while using them. Turning a relic into a consumable which grants any ability to fit the situation seems ideal. The upgrade for it could be to allow multiple effects at once for insane stacking Then, he can also upgrade his Phantom Hand's storage for said items. More space and maybe he can even target living things (a way to teleport himself at will short distances to dodge attacks?). Some other considerations I had but couldn't find a place to articulate well: - Can Consumption of a Set item grant him qualifications for it? If so, he can have the power of multiple Set bonuses simultaneously - Blood Binding Tertiary and Consumption Secondary: can he gain benefits from the attached ability on the relic if he consumes it? It's guaranteed to be good for him because it aligns with his sacrifices already. It also is a way for him to draw out the Uru Drake Progenitor's abilities/qualities by rerolling until he hits it. - Blood Binding makes it so that the relic is Fated to return. Does that mean it makes it more unlikely that said items are destroyed? If so, he now gets a passive buff against all plots to strip him of his gear, one of his major weaknesses - Modify relics in hand is strong. Maybe it's a monster that fuses parts of itself as the sacrifice. - Will should raise up a crafter class vassal. They can make things that he then improves on or vice versa. In my experience, crafting abilities go exponential when collaboration occurs.

Vinohr

A sacrifice that allows Will to consume one of his slotted phantom hand items for some benefit would be cool because it could synergize with sourdough and allow him to gain the physical version of the item again, allowing him to modify and swap slotted ifems

Exrotes

Maybe give Will a hand upgrade that lets him sacrifice a stored relic to apply one of its passive or active effects to the next relic he adds to the hand, so he'll need to find/create something better for synergies and can't infinity stack but he can slap the butlers onto a rogue synergy item.

RedeyeA

Spectral obstruction snail: a snail that can intangibly spear an eye stalk into a climber's body to lower stats or disrupt abilities. When applied to Uru Drake's Eye, the upgrade would let Will extend his eyeballs, turning them into intangible eye stalks that can directly interact with miasma inside solid objects. He would still be able to see from the eyes with them extended. The eyes can extend several feet, but keep the same volume so they get very thin.

Stanisław Drewienkowski

Blood Binding seems interesting, but it decreases flexibility by only being on one item (unless there can be multiple bound weapons, but that doesnt sound right), and it is kicking the bucket down the road about what powerup Will gets exactly since the RaNdOm power could be ANYTHINg dimmensional. I like it tough since for one time cost this can help Will get out of some nasty binds, that is if he gets trapped somewhere without a weapon, the fate warping aspect alone could come in handy.

Apotheosis

"Whatever that spider that's weaving curses Proprioceptors" for the eye, it would grant him him a proprioceptive sense of miasma around himself, allowing him to weave spells and modify his class without needing to actually look at the miasma

kaiki

Ima suggest this mostly for the humor, but also I think it makes some sense. His right hand to sourdough, it makes it so he can restore relics from his phantom hand slots. + for phantom hand, also his right hand… Have sourdough show up when he offers the right hand for phantom… this way he realizes he needs to do it again… From previous comments and hesitation he has had, I feel the fact he needs to do it twice now, will cause more agony then doing it once.

Stanisław Drewienkowski

Shame Will gets tetriary only now, it might have come really handy in getting some real lessons from Mother, instead of the attempt to blow him off

Spicyice101

He 100% needs Titan’s Grasp, either as the secondary or tertiary ability. Not for the ability to hold larger things, although that’s a bonus, but for the smaller things. Once he gets the “miasma is terrain” ability, Titan’s Grasp will let him easily control how much miasma he “grabs” at a time, allowing for very delicate miasma operations, great for building up his left hand.

Alan Ben Sen Clem

Half the reason magic is cool is because it's hard to do. It wouldn't make much sense if the Tower itself gave you the ability. I agree with your opinion on the counterspell effect. It's supposed to be diabolically powerful but we didn't get to see much on that side.

Trey

if loth were to give will the norworm corpse as a sacrifice for one of his abilities i think i have a cool idea. if he sacrificed it to phantom hand it might allow his hand to burrow into someone and use their abilities. instead of stealing their kit wholesale he can start using their skills against them in a fight. not sure if that is as good as something else for phantom hand or if loth would even give up that sacrifice but still, would be cool to at least see what affects a norworm sacrifice would have on wills abilities even if he doesn’t use it.

Jk

It could be a way for him to climb the tower more sustainably too, like he could store a few of badur’s preservation spells whenever he plans on climbing. I always thought that was the “original” purpose of his phantom hand as a part of the Resourceful Climber class, to carry supplies, so I figure letting it carry magical supplies is a natural progression.

Kote's chronicles

This one has my vote. Should also allow him to change the amount of terrain his cantrip can manipulate i think. Right?

GryphonKnight

I always thought the Giant bones that store Miasma would be cool for Will’s hand Then in the future some cool monster flesh, then blood, then skin, then finger nails Maybe use sourdough to regrow the above parts an each can be used to fuel different cantrips Or have the finished hand gain a consciousness and class of its own Will accidentally sacrificed a part of himself for his class, what if Brianna’s Blood accidentally contaminates a rare sacrifice or Loth’s 🎬

Kurt A

Consumption seems to pair well with sourdough.

Levi

Seeing as will is all about planning, versatility, having unlimited cute baker girlfriends, and being part snake: New tertiary from Simon the indigestible: Gourmand Digestion Consume a piece of a creature/being to temporarily gain some of it's power. Receive a bonus to stats based on the creatures primary stat distribution. Scales based on how good the food tastes. Alternatively or additionally temporarily grant a less powerful version of the creatures primary ability based on the last active primary used, or any passive that was active

Farxzay

I thought it was said by a priest pretty early on that Will’s hand couldn’t be restored by the Gods because it was “claimed by the Tower”? And not something like there being no memory of it? Also, idea for the Phantom Hand relic upgrading ability: using a sacrifice from Simon the Indigestible, the Hand would be able to “regurgitate” its consumed relics, reverting them to the state they were in before being absorbed. This would put the associated finger on cooldown as it recovers.

Luke Scheffe

Would probably allow some synergy with phantom hand as well, perhaps increasing control of his phantom hand based abilities or even just its ability to grapple with ghosts.

Luke Scheffe

I really like Inexorable, I feel like it has a lot of potential, I'm just not sure how well it would work with his existing abilities. But if he got it and got a sacrifice to apply it to creatures or objects under his direct control, it could boost his ranged attacks to be unblockable. Plus, I feel like ghosts fit with the concept of inexorability really well, so it could turn into a buff for his ghost butlers(and phantom hand)

aaa bbb

Uru Drake’s Eye+ Bend light for better sight. Scales with acuity. "Better sight" here have multiple applications. 1- kill blind spots: by bending the light behind your skull to enter your eyes you could see in all directions (of course this would probably cook normal eyes. Maybe damage climbers eyes. But considering the drake eyes and his regeneration, it shouldn't be that big of a problem.) Although I'm not sure how it'd look from the outside. I'm thinking hazy like a mirage. 2- it could help in his "light cooking" with his terrain manipulation. As long as he thought of it to be for "better sight". 3- Bending light to see something from all sides. (I think that's called in 3D?) Although this might need the object to be in close proximity. (Depends on acuity. Another sacrifice might help? The worm thing maybe?) Will could use this to study miasma better. 4? Potential aura farming xd? As i already said i don't know how it'd look like from the outside. But it might look scary or cool? Like his face being darker (or straight black) with his eyes blindingly bright. Or his face being hard to focus on. Idk Of course this would be a huge headache to get used to. Oh and the monster could be one that used it's light bending as camouflage. A snake perhaps?

AG

For titan’s grasp the ability to hold items that would normally be too small for him might be useful for doing detailed microscopic work on his home made wands

Cyrus McEnnis

Ok. So, at the core, Will's set is a survival type rogue / ranger. He interacts with terrain & ediolons to survive. Upgrades that come to mind: The ability to extend his Aspect to others. Would give party members / vassals the ability to eat the same way Will does, and given how important logistics are this high in the Tower being able to safely forage for food would be a huge benefit. That, and the passive resistances would be huge. Phantom Hand upgrades: extending the ability to interact with objects could be fun. I've long been a fan of Titans Grasp, because it directly addresses one of Will's weaknesses being unable to use a 2 handed weapon. Now that his hatchet is starting to lack girth, switching out to a claymore or similar that is statted such that it accounts for both slots would be an instant upgrade. Map - the obvious one is making it so changes on the map reflect in reality

Gorane

Why would you expect a random priest to have super accurate info about wills condition instead of making stuff up

Gorane

As everyone has said, his secondaries are tied between Titans Grasp and Consume. Sadly Titans Grasp has wayy to much synergy with making him better at manipulating miasma and also boosting his combat power abit via 2handed weapons or large anti-kaiju items. His teritary should be blood binding or consume then

Gorane

I think you previously had that his offered skills get better with Him getting more XP and achieveing more impressive feats. Therefore you should slight improve his skills

Gorane

I think he needs to have offered some usual "world traveler" relat3d new skills.

Gorane

Ibappriact3 the well formsted and thought out analysis. I do not agree however that Will is struggling combat wise. Titants grasb will give him a small boost in combat and probably one primary upgrade well boost that too

ParadoxFox

Can consumption work with manifested relics?

Nùmenor

Inexorable is interesting because of the wording "compelled by the world itself." I wonder if there is a distinction between "the world itself" causing an effect and the normal workings of miasma. If so, maybe Will could use this to help him avoid death on the 50th floor. Either way, I'm sure he'd be interested in studying it.

unmellow the gamer

eyeball monster that is impossible to get the jump on: sacrifice to uru Drake for all senses to count as vision, and vice versa. You can feel misasma, and listen to anything you see. Etc. lore possibility. A famous sacrifice for scouts of all kinds do to it always providing some useful enhancements to your Sense based abilities. Despite being an eyeball it has great hearing, tremor senses, and more in spite of the fact it shouldn't. This would also make prey senses a shoe in as widening all your senses sounds nice.

Ruan Labuschagne

Just let him use the manifested relics, this is supposed to be an OP power trip fantasy, you've handled op well in the past

Gorane

Boooo no

Gorane

If he only needs it for 50th floor he can get it at lvl 90

Gorane

Probably needs an upgrade for that

Gorane

This is one of the more original ideas ive seen, great idea

Gorane

Sourdough is at max upgrades already

Gorane

It couls be a late game skill ie he takes ut at lvl 90 to be able to understand the underlying language of the tower

Gorane

Uru Drakes eye could be upgraded to 1) show other areas of the light spectrum ie get heat vision 2) better ability to zoom in and focus on specific micro objects 3) see slightly into the future ie [accuity/100] seconds of precognition 4)be able to bend light to your eye to see further away, wouls give him cantrips to pair with aspects. 5)can add uru drake eyes abilities to eindelons under his control ie butlers, phantom eyes, whatever item constructs

Stanisław Drewienkowski

The second Phantom hand was offered as a second PRIMARY ability, a second hand doesnt cheapen that, since it doesnt provide an additional batch of flexible upgrade slots that could make a second specialized hand, that would still get affected by Family Gathering. And if they somehow interacted as core of the ability is the same? Damn. Here is just doubles the number of appendages, whilst also limiting one upgrade slot that could provide something really whacky, like making storage size LARGE instead, maybe that would take 2 sacrifices that he wont get to use since one slot went towards doubling the hands. A storage capable of holding a tree or a whole dragon corpse would be nuts, opens many possibilities. I don't think Will really struggles in combat, he is specialized in a certain kind of combat, that being hit and run, and a single upgrade won't solve it, not from the options provided, unless WIll can reliably manufacture certain kinds of relics for consumption which might add more damage types to his arsenal, or make cannonballs launched tougher, but provided he expands his arsenal a bit, there is not many things that outright resist everything he has, and Hammer of God and potentially new consumables for powerfull effects, and that can work in extended fights, and whilst true that cooldowns are limiting him, unless his stronghold is in danger he can usually retreat untill a cooldown resets. He should have some weakpoints, and it is hard to really cal Will lacking

Trey

if prey sense were picked as a secondary ability it would be interesting if it could get a qualitative upgrade like predator senses or something if the correct sacrifice was given to it. wasn’t there a brief mention of some predator in a recent chapter? hmmmmm

Patron1kj6tz

Phantom Hand Upgrades -One that allows sacrificed relics to be extracted (puts slot on cooldown) -would allow butlers to be upgraded -would allow him to "temporarily" sacrifice something and get it back -Phalanges (sections between/after knuckles) for slots instead of fingers totaling 14 slots (3 for pinky, ring, middle, index; 2 for thumb)

Patron1kj6tz

Wheat Gremlin/Can condense miasma within line of sight into pre-existing plant life Funny because its a weak monster from the very start of the story Will was opposed to sacrificing and it could be that start of a chain of upgrades that makes miasma a terrain without using up a primary slot Limited manipulation of miasma -> Broad manipulation of miasma -> Miasma is a terrain

Luke Scheffe

Because that was the answer he was given by his god, I'm pretty sure.

A

Can he upgrade Molt with a sacrifice donated by Brianna (she could probably detach a hand without even cutting it off using her shapeshifting) to make his Molts more intelligent and functional. Could create some fun shenanigans where his Molts have minds of their own.

A

I feel like something related to extreme adaptations to hostile environments / terrain-related hazards fits with World Traveler. This would be easy to add as an upgrade to Aspect of the Immortal Serpent since that already grants high altitude adaptions. It would be funny to see Will growing gills and webbed feet on water floors, fire / lava resistance in volcanic areas, or more bizarre and humorous adaptations elsewhere.

A

Map Upgrade: Voodoo Map - Abilities can be targeted and delivered through Will's Map, allowing him and his allies to attack anyone or anything that he can locate on his Map, so long as they're a valid target for the ability.

A

Eye of the Uru Drake Upgrade: enhancement that slightly increases Will's intuitive understanding of miasma structures and phenomenon. Not immediately world-breaking, but gives him a minor compounding advantage in developing new cantrips, spells, etc.

A

New Ability: Make a Path - create a path between you and a nearby location clearing obstacles from your way. Maximum affected area and intensity of effect scales with Focus. This would be "traveling" ability that (a) helps plug a gap in Will's mobility capabilities where his only way out of a completely enclosed area is to use his fear-travel, which relies on the presence of someone feeling said fear, or trying to just punch through a wall, and (b) can effectively operate as an attack ability based on how it clears a path and what constitutes an "obstacle," both of which could be expanded through upgrades if not used for his tertiary ability. =

McIntosh Ewell

That would be pretty cool. I'm not sure how the Tower would react to high level Climbers upgrading one another with their own body parts. As far as I recall, Will's the only human using himself as a sacrifice while still living. If there is some kind of restriction, he could get a higher floor version of the sacrifice that was the backbone of her class

Patron1kj6tz

New Ability Source: William Oh's Left (and/or Right) Hand Name: Recursive Coils Effect: Can't think of one... someone please help, the name sounds cool but I can't think of anything for it
