I'm compiling creatures for the next slot of calvinian summoning, for a vote. So far I have spiders and maybe fireworms?

Feel free to suggest your own creatures, either based on reality, or custom made mobs, and we'll put the ones I like up for a vote.

If you make up something, name, physical description, ability.

No spiders please. Since he can put himself in to the summon, maybe a combat form that is normally very small and weak in real life but when scaled up has some pretty amazing features. But, my vote is land version of the electric eel.

Tommy Littlefield

Hercules type beetle (make a good shield wall breaker) but modified to also spit that burning fluid acid shit that some beetles have

Austin Gibbs

Flea or ticks or worm ant's or someone making him eat a primate giant monkey gang!

Anonymous

How about a little helper goblin? There's gotta be some scrappy lesser races out there you can enslave into scrambling around, stealing and sabotage.

Mi

As options open up, I'd go with specialization according to size. Wasps are perfect as they are size-wise and make a hell of a swarm for low-level threats removale. I'd add one for very high level fights that doesn't need to sting or bite to inflict damage like a skin to skin poison (curare comes to mind) and I'd chose another one for MONSTER Godzilla mode and take a beast of the insect world that would be insanely scary human sized such as : Ladybugs, Weevils, Scarabs, Fireant ...

C&C

Personally i'd use slimes with some kind of offensive ability. Slimes in general have a wide variety of uses so it would be fitting for your character i suppose.

Austin Gibbs

My only reason for the fleas or ticks is the fact that if you scale them up to dog sizes they turn into nightmares fast moving armored 3d moving blood sucking monsters

Enaz the great

Creature: the webneb the result of a horny tentacle monster and unfortunate giant spider . The webneb is a six leged amphibious spider shaped monster that has all the elastic tentacled goodness of it's Lovecraftein parent . On top of this ,these little abomantions posses the web making skills and sheer unbridled rage prone to most giant spiders .

Tommy Littlefield

Why is everyone choosing spiders? it’s literally just more poison biting (but with less mobility) and webbing which he had the ability to make him self

Beeees!

Maybe some type of small raptor that could be scaled up to be huge and do crazy powerful divebombs

Seadrake

Whatever you chose it must taste absolutely vile. I can see the General "enhancing" the abilities of her subordinate, by giving him a rare but absolutely vile tasting creature. PS thought of creature in reply bellow.

One part of many bits of payback for kidnapping the princess.

IMO definitely not another arthropod, or else Calvin's gonna turn in to a Skitter knockoff. I think fire slugs are not entirely munchkinly optimal, since he can get the same effect with alchemical vials and really they're only good for explosions. I'd say: work with Kala to figure out if there's some useful animal with dial-a-yield poisons; she's probably got a grasp of the good shit given the requirements of her Seer abilities. Definitely bonus points for thumbs - maybe some sort of poison arrow murloc?

Tommy Littlefield

You got gnomes or something thats good at crafting? he could insta spawn a whole legion of utility workers for post battle repair and clean up

Tommy Littlefield

A bat would be useful he could use a whole flicks echolocation to locate something or someone he’s hunting down

Tommy Littlefield

An ape or gorilla cause he could literally use a version of it to make himself basically a stronger better human shaped thing and make a giant version for boss fight along with a giant weapon for his conveniently thumbed hands and already exhausting weapon skills

rwn

You know what would be pretty dang frightening though, is if he managed to get a doppelganger or some other sort of shapeshifter into a summoning slot. He could use One of the Guys to basically steal their shapeshifting ability, and with Calvin's Feel Intent and Acting skills he could pass as pretty much anyone with just a bit of research.

Tommy Littlefield

A butterfly that uses illusion only able to change its looks so he could cover him self with a bunch of them and have perfect active camo when he is using stealth and dagger skills

Chris

The exploding ant. Ants are the second strongest creature in the world. They are armoured and they can dig tunnels. They can also strip a carcass real quick so he doesn't need to waste a skill to consume his next summons he can just hart of the swarm and eat it. Did I mention the ants explode?

Prinny Knight

Kibbold, a kobold imp named "Bits". Small bipedal creature about 1' 8"- 2' 2'' -dood- Lizard like aspects, tails, claws horn. Imagine a hairless cat, stands on back feet with horns and lizard like tail. Not genius, but capability to learn. -dood- Have thumbs and if treated well, won't try to steal everything you own like a butt goblin. -dood-

A disgruntled nondescript squirrel

tiny spider monkeys like the real ones but with 8 eyes and 8 limbs and gecko pad feet to crawl on smooth surfaces or on ceilings. Really cute but in a disturbing swarm. Maybe make the one he has to eat really trusting and freindly with a natural trait that makes them adorable so he has a hard time psychologically hurt to kill and eat it. Have them live in burrows so that they can also dig with their tiny cute claws.

Mmmmyes

Moles or other digging creatures. Maybe worms. We have air mobility, give us ground mobility as well.

Jamie Trevino

Honestly giant fleas, ants, centipedes. Ants would be terrifying just because think, what’s a POUND of ants? There is at least one ant species poisonous enough that only 100 can kill someone even if they aren’t allergic. A pound of ants? Even assuming they are 5mg monster sized ants, that’s still 90,000 ants

Anonymous

I can think of a few things. Earth worms for digging. It is said that cockroaches are the fastest land animal for their size, you could really get somewhere if you could run at 200 miles an hour as a mega cockroach. Something that lives underwater, maybe some sort of lobster or something.

Faeblood

Slimes would be a good fit if he could adapt them more. Armored slime for defence or healing slime for recovery acid slime. If he grabs the ability to mix and match summons parts he could make some crazy stuff down the road depending on if he will be gaining more summon slots

Jesse Tomlinson

What about some sort of squirrel or something that has ridiculously fast twitch reflexes, but a bloodthirsty or rabid version of it. Like a squirrel and shrew combined or something.

maltmana

Some sort of burrowing creature ,great for infiltration and escape

A

A warped creature that can perceive and/or interact with warp and bent. Small to take advantage of the weight cap on Calvinian summoning; perhaps a stealthy/phased scavenger critter attracted to battlefields and other higher warp events. Burrowing octopod with elemental affinity or warp jets/clouds for defense?

Anonymous

I'd say something like a rat would be perfect, For one they already know how to behave in swarms which if the wasps are any indication would help with giving them orders. They also if scaled up could make reliable and smart mounts for the group. They would also have utility as scouts / infiltrators, nobody is going to think twice about a rat slipping through a building or city. Plus they would still be able to tunnel which quite a few people seem to think is important. If you were going to make it stranger you could even go with something like a cranium rat which have a hive mind that could take his heart of the swarm to a new level as far as boosting the swarms intelligence level as a function of the amount of rats.

Jacob

A creature that can dig through stone cause the best way to lay your enemies low is to cut the ground out from under them

Michael Ox

I can just imagine a bug crawling in his mouth while he is asleep and him gaining that creature. My submission: A cockroach, a hard to kill carapace type insect, its power? Surviving A vehicle to transport people eventually and a means of escape as the little bastards are hard to kill. Potentially throw in some magical resistance that no one realized because who would waste a bent on killing a cockroach. Also maybe a means to heal if he can regenerate a limb as a cockroach and get it back. https://www.insidescience.org/news/consider-cockroach

Zach Collins

Hallucinogenic/ poisonous Butterfly, releases drug related mist that causes individuals to experience the full color spectrum along with increased visual sensitivity. potential synergy with Kala's oracle. Bent Flea/ parasite, drains bent and irritates victims. Drained bent ether going towards producing more of them or synergizing with lady killer for an orgasmic plague for all females in the area and a quick bent top up for Cal. Disease or harmful Bacteria, knowledge provided from Elliot which really could have any possible effect you want in a reality torn world Calvins in. Turns Cal in a potential city/ kingdom destroyer in the right "conditions" as well as providing future "hey i'm a Nuke" leverage.

Love the work, keep it up. Hope I've provided some nightmare fuel for enemies.

LordDark

How about this. After tha battle is over a ghost is wandering the battlefild. Kala kills it and has calvin eat the ectoplasm. He can now summon ghost that way half a pound each and drain life on touch.

LordDark

This also would be very wizardly kingly to have a necromatic army.

B

Ants they get dangerous

Kemizle

I like the cranium rat great for swarms and it should let him eat bigger pray to get summons if he uses heart of the swarm

Kemizle

he should get a monkey type monster so he can go all monkey king it should complement his combat skills

DominusIgnis

Ok. Work with me here. What about the nanites from the robot? Who knows what you could possibly do if able to direct them.

DominusIgnis

True. But i guess thats where the line gets weird though. Because the sac of nanites was a byproduct of harvesting the robot. It does kinda sound weird that your collecting something that's a living being from a dead robot that you used thr harvest skill on. You essentially created life with a skill if you look at it with that logic.

DominusIgnis

True, I guess if you think of it that way than nanites shouldnt be a option for summon. But do keep in mind that now you have to draw a line. If you can harvest a robot then can you harvest a nanite? Or are they technically not robots but a component that makes true robots function. Like as you said blood does to a human.

Im just now realising im not putting these in the first thread...arent i just special

person1357

leeches that cause bleeding that can stack and suck bent if combined with lady killer good for water travel as well.

Lord Freezy Pop

If we had to stick to the bug theme I would choose a centipede, a larger version would not only be like an armored tank but it has poison and mobility. Currently Cal is more suited to fight groups of enemies with his wasps and skills a heavy insect like a centipede is tough but more rounded out compared to a spider or beetle. Besides I haven’t seen some use a centipedes a summon in a long time so it would also be unique.
