I got distracted yesterday and today I did some business calls, which usually take the wind out of the sails of my writing. I'm easily distracted. Expect a makeup chapter on sat-sun.To make up for not posting for a couple days, I'll share some thoughts & plans.Going forward, I'd like to write the climax of the conflict between Tom and the Great Houses, and get his daughter back, then write a resolution with a good hook so I can set it down and do something else for a while.

This should take 10-20 chapters. My current train of thought is that at the end, Tom will return to Earth, lapsing the story back towards a more urban fantasy, with the primary villain going forward being Carol's brother who is in control of the president. If you can think of a better direction for the third Arc, I'm all ears. Before the third arc, I'd like to try my hand at writing a superhero story. There's a lot about superhero stories that don't resonate naturally with me. I find it hard to write about slice of life sprinkled with battles where no one dies, and powerful, comprehensive worldbuilding is difficult for me, and making sure that all the sidekicks and villains have their own unique backstory and powerset is a juggling act that I don't think I'm up to.Which is part of why I want to do it. so many aspects of superhero stories are what I'm weak at. Therefore doing it will help strengthen my skills as a writer. I think.I also just have the bug and wanna get it out of my system.my current Idea is The MC is a Tinker who uses technology/machines to abuse ritual magic to an astronomical degree.Basically my favorite kind of character, but in a superhero setting.Let me know if you think it would be funny for the main character to launch a canister at foes that defiles the image of a wrathful deity a thousand times a second upon impact, triggering a reflexive smiting at the location of the shell.

It will be a LitRPG for reasons that will make a little bit of sense, and the way the system works will draw heavy inspiration from Generic System.XP = potential for change, or Impact.

I'm going to introduce HP as a shield mechanic, as in you don't die when you run out, but you can't face-take artillery anymore or you'll become red mist.

TLDR: Soulmonger's got 10-20 chapters until the end of book 2, then I wanna write a litRPG super story.Let me know what you think! Also if you wouldn't mind finding and upvoting this review on RR, that would help the story gain a little more traction on the site.unless that's against the rules. In which case I didn't ask you to do that.

excellent!

I found and highly enjoyed the author’s “systems of  the apocalypse” series on kindle, and so I looked here to see what else  the author had written, and I’m so glad I did. This is great! Believable  characters, interesting world building, and fun page-turner action.  Highly recommended! Recent entries have changed the story up some, and I  can’t wait to see where it goes from here.

Sounds good looking forward to it. I love your super overpowered characters there the best especially your tech guys.

The question on that canister thing is it an unconscious reflex or a conscious reflex cuz then if he does it enough times is that God just show up and it's got to be an oh shit moment for it

Macronomicon

it'd have to be an unconciocus reflex or else he'd be in some serious divine trouble...which would be a fun B plot. Might have to do divine community service or else get smited.

Tech tinkering Rituals Sounds fun. Defiling holy Symbols Sounds more like antihero than superhero to me. Spoiler warning would have been nice instead of leading with: Baby survived beeing shot in the Last chapter.

Zombi apoc where the "infection" is nanites in controll after the mind dies

I’ve seen hints at large scale superhero politics in stories like The Boys on Amazon and Super Crooks. Also, to a lesser extent, Invincible. All on Amazon. It would be cool to see your approach to this in a litRPG setting. Is there a super hero on the level of those marvel reality bending hero’s that’s just arbitrarily decide to play a game of super hero’s and villains? Does this being enforce hp as a way to play the game and lose without really putting your life on the line straight away? What happens when people forget that the whole thing is a game, and their are gentlemen rules. Is the MC actually this rule making hero but has emptied himself of the ability to change the rules while he’s playing? Does he know that he’s the rule maker? Just some ideas. But yeah I’m interested in seeing you bring a batman with attitude into a superhero world.

If you find the fact that there are no real long term consequences in a super hero universe bad. Then make the BBEG kill heroes who disrupt their plans. But have the BBEG use minions to do their work and then kill the heroes who stop their minions when they are on a mission, but otherwise ignore what happens to them. Need to make the BBEG not care about anything but their own interests, basically an unsocialized Sheldon Cooper but without the desire for recognition. It would make the world a little on the grimdark side, but there would be real tension for the aspiring hero every time they try to stop a crime.

Doesn't have to just be messing with the 'goodish' gods, could also mess with devil's or some other blood sacrifice god meaning it wouldn't have to be antihero, just ambiguous methods but generally nice like his previous lads. With a bit of tinkering and some heretical thinking there are plenty of ways to make use of the the gods for fun and profit. Could make something that takes some of their blood and completes a sacrifice in their name, something like a tranquilliser dart in reverse with the sigil pattern or what ever you use to complete it inside. When it let's blood in it completes a few hundred tiny sigils. With the right rule set it could technically be them completing it and so no blow back on him. Could even size them for non lethal by reducing sigil numbers.
