Spells without Materials/Rituals (Patreon)

In the last chapter, I introduced three new spells.

Dregor’s Binding: Binds two objects together so that what happens to one, happens to the other.Gretchen's Idyllic Manifestation: Creates a permanent construction based on the user's imagination.

Miniature Vistas: Creates a miniature of a landscape.I created the spells with their product in mind, and didn't bother to think of specific material or rituals for casting any of them. Would you guys care to brainstorm those? They always turn out more robust and wacky when I can draw from others.

Dregors binding gotta have chains of a prisoner and wedding ring of the recently dead. All forms of binding in one way or another

I mean dregor's binding is clearly voodoo as you described in the recent chapter so i would go with the "real world myth equivalent". A likeness of the target. a physical piece of said target (a hair, in the case of the land a piece of dirt or rock), Incense, and blood to power the magic i think are generally what is described in the mythology

Miniature Vistas: Eye of newt to capture the image, fairy's dust to make the vista in an illusion, then a Nightmare's tears to bring the illusion into reality.

I don't mind going a bit traditional, but i do need items that had 'Essence' in them that can bind to certain concepts.

I assume blood of something with essence would work maybe a magic chicken blood instead of mundane chicken blood? a cocatrice maybe? I cant think of any other mythological chicken equivalents. Frankly its funny thinking about someone mass farming cocatrices for spell components. would basically have to do the whole process blindfolded.

I'll offer one ingredient or set of interchangeable ingredients for each and one action for each: Dregors binding: needs eggs or another natural adhesive or sticky substance (possibly the semen of a magical animal with especially viscous emissions), other ingredients need to marinade in the chosen substance for at least 2 hours while exposed to moonlight. (This ingredient focuses the ideas of creation and attachment.) Gretchen's Idyllic Manifestation: needs spores or seeds from psychedelic mushrooms or plants with similar effects, must dry overnight near a sleeping person. (This ingredient connects the mind to reality by blurring the line between. This is also an excellent opportunity to have perry or his not-GF get high by accident. Wonder what tinker twitch on shrooms would come up with?) Miniature Vistas: needs either hair from a shrunken head, the foreskin of a creature with a micropenis, or blood from a creature with dwarfism. Must be boiled in the center of the location you want to make a miniature of. (Connects the place to the idea of "smaller than it's supposed to be")

that is a lot of spores, micropenises and semen. I mean, i'm not opposed to adding them here and there, because there's GOTTA be magic jizz. I'm just not sure i could do it without icking out readers. Oh well, i guess we're gonna find out =)

Make the construction one require lumber and then you can make jokes about how lumber is harder to get than magical reagents

Idyllic mani : house gnome thumb and sap of the will shaper tree. House gnomes repair and clean with a snap and the will shaper is the translation from elvish, a specially care-taken tree that grows to the needs of the elves.
