Sorry I've been slow with the chapters. Got a checkup appointment this morning and a bunch of amazon related stuff the last couple weeks.New chapter tomorrow. Probably.

NOWWhich mini arcs would you guys like to see happen? The winner is not guaranteed to happen next, I'm just evaluating their popularity.1: There's a wall break and Perry defends civilians alongside other randoms supers.2: Brendon's value is revealed...maybe. On the Terminators arc: you know, austrian bodybuilder terminators don't make any sense. Nobody would trust them. But anime waifu terminators who act cute with a constant sugar rush... Also as everyone knows, hacking terminators to turn against their masters is pretty easy.

Some of these arcs are great for when the story is more mature. Let the kids have some fun.

JG

I Like all of them but would like some more world building and a better idea of the state of the broader world thus i choose 3

I just got into buying salvage title motorcycles. Shit is so goddamn cheap even with all the red tape, and the possibilities are endless for me as a normal human tinkerer. The kind of thing Perry could get into would probably be the greatest possible return on investment he could make at this stage.

Pastor Joubert

Besides turning 50k worth of junk into a 3 million dollar suit of power armor?

Joseph

I think world building is a bit too early. We still barely know anything about the city Perry currently lives in. Lets focus on that for a while before we jump the shark to more cities

How about when the train ride eventually happens we get a breach storyline as well? The train is attacked and the super forces aboard have to repel the attack and get the train clear, then the city comes under greater attack. It would make for a good overarching greater plot for that section and it ticks off two items on the list. Most of these would work well with each other. While Perry is away the boys bring his suit components to the market, more experienced tinkers discover what he is doing but can't work it out themselves and invade his lair to steal his ideas and notes, so Perry invests in a junk yard as an auxiliary lair and has trouble there then runs into magical vermin problems and has to hunt them down and sells them to Dave the Unicorn, and a bunch of stuff. It all kind of works together. If you want it to.

Hmm you might be right but from the description it would be an introduction to the international situation and not a complete switch of focus i would agree that it would not make sense to change scale from the local city yet. Maybe having vistors from an exchange program might work better...

Before Perry leaves the city for any reason I would love to see him fully set down roots, unless the plan is for him to get up rooted and start over in another city, can’t see why that would happen though. The old guard trying to poach his tech would lead to a similar form of escalation because rn the main thing going for Perry is his system first and his magitech second. Old tinkers coming into play shouldn’t really start happening until you are ready to bring Perry into the next league and could be used as a kind of hazing/onboarding process. You have to be strong enough to protect your interests after all, that’s kind of the dividing line between little league and big league. As for the train ride, I’d love to see that before old guard tinker intervention and after he establishes a more sophisticated lair. Imagine him going to the next city over, seeing cool shit and thinking “I’m gonna upgrade my lair and so much shit when I get back” only to have old guard touting a new discovery of magitech? For all those reasons I voted for mutant ghetto and junkyard, it’s got worldbuilding for current city and of a demographic we’ve only seen once before, introductions now leaves you another piece on the board for future stories as the writer and owning a junkyard will contribute to his “root” system.

What if the first pass of a terminator arc was comically and incompetently done? Then if the story turns dark later, it can come out that they were there all along or that they were actually pretty sophisticated and gave humans a “win” so they would stop trying to catch them etc.

SunderGoldmane

The ghetto arc can flesh out more of the current city and possibly open up a dialogue of how refugees from that other planet get lumped in with mutant undesirables from other cities. The mutant gangs don’t all have to be from the city perry is in, we could be given a small glimpse of what another city life is like through the conversation with someone who left them and came to Perry’s city and now is in the ghetto.

SunderGoldmane

Imagine Perry selling tinkered vintage motorbikes…. Powerarmor is functional but vintage is collector level of wealth.

SunderGoldmane

Oooooo school trip gone wrong, train to another city, city practically falls and Perry returns with refugees? Bringing the story back to his hometown and letting us see city level threats being contested by big leaguers?

JG

Welp you guys convinced me im switching my vote to the ghetto

Chris M

Ever tinker needs a backup base in case the first lair gets compromised

At this point I"m hoping that Brendon doesn't have any value and it's just all the cowls trying to get him because all the others are. Or that the reason Perry keeps using him as an experiment is he has a mild power making other capes/cowls assume he's the perfect test subject.
