*HEIGHT OF HEADPHONE WARNINGS*

This series has not let me down and just when I thought I could know what to expect -- the series does a lovely twist and turn in the best way with this episode! This episode was SO GOOD! It keeps reminding me why I enjoy this series so much --

-- giving us amazing animation, shippable moments, action, and more surprises that build on the mystery, even this late in the season!

just here to appreciate Wirbel, he been hard carrying his two teammates. Also F for Richter, so strong but got ambushed by Sense clone, he def was one of the strongest there

You are far enough in the series so I can say this finally and you can understand why I would say it: For 2024 anime of the year, There is Frieren and then every other anime. I almost feel bad for any other anime trying for anime of the year in 2024. I am like you, the style of animation that Frieren uses for the fights is exactly my cup of tea. But I think to myself, Why should that be any sort of surprise? The attention to detail in every episode shows the love and care the studio put into creating this anime and its why I agree with you saying "Frieren just does not miss". I do enjoy Sense's character. The quiet, intelligent and powerful character that knows her own strength and her own weaknesses. We talked a little on Ubel. She is such an interesting character that I want to know more about her, but I just don't like her. It's a love/hate thing haha. She is not my favorite character, but she is a great character. See you next week!

I dont see any english reactor pronouncing all the names correctly / as you would in German, so dont worry about that ;). Also Blei is the German word for the metal / chemical element lead, not lead as in leadership.

Omikron

Richter was asking who Edel is, not the other dude. She just came up to him and started talking about how amazing the golems are even though they have never interacted. If I was in his position, I would also be confused

This was such a fun episode to watch - it went by in a flash for me. I was surprised to see Frieren unlock magic like we've never seen before - tapping in to almost a Mob Psycho attack after losing her arms, using her mind to slam Fern across the room and into the wall. After hearing you discuss how you enjoyed how this series keeps the fights nice and short last episode I was like uh-oh, haha. The Frieren fight still had quite a bit left to it, but you noticed they re-wound the fight from other angles to show more which we didn't see last episode as well as the conclusion. All the Ubel backstory is so good, I agree! She has really come a long way since we first saw her.

OHHHH "Lead" as in the element - thank you! And thank you for the kind words and comment - I've been getting flack for my pronunciation in other series I'm watching, so it's become a reflex to try and defend myself proactively! I appreciate the comment a lot! That puts me more at ease!

RIGHT?! Wirbel has literally, LITERALLY been "carrying" his team! And yeah, Richter just had the WORST luck of them all in this, or one of the worst! Thank you for the comment!

Oh, I can see why you would place Frieren as anime of the year, even though I haven't seen all the ones that have come out...and we have half a year to go...hahaha! BUT STILL! It's just gorgeous animation-wise and the story and characters are just RICH. Yes, the attention to detail is definitely why this series doesn't miss! Sense is just such a solid character - she's a fun foil to Ubel with their clashing personalities! I don't blame you for not liking Ubel - it's a "love to loathe" and I've had characters like that! I do love the way she's written, as it exceeds my expectations of her as just a rugged, badass female character I thought she'd be at the start - this gives her so much more depth! Thank you for the comment! Excited for these last few weeks with Frieren, but sad we're almost caught up!

I loved this episode as well! And yes, Frieren was DEFINITELY channeling some Mob in that attack, I agree! Oh yeah, to be clear, a long Shonen battle doesn't "bother" me -- I sat through half a season on Namek with Dragonball Z back in the day, haha! But I like a show that gives us a fresh take on a fight and doesn't DRAG it out without need -- which is why this fight was so perfect! And yes, I love Ubel's character and how she's been developing for us! Thanks for the comment and kind words!

Might have said it before but, Übel? she scary... and possibly a sociopath. That test might have been flawed, but probably not deserving of the death penalty. And of course Übel's doppelganger went for Land, it wasn't like there were two other more offensive mages right there that might have needed restraining instead. Hmm if Übel ever manages to sympathize with Land and gets together with him (instead of murdering him) they could... you know, have some fun with Land's special ability, if they feel so inclined. I can just see the "defeat" in his eyes if he one day is faced with two Übels at the same time. 😜 Thank god for the rescue golems they really came in handy, there wasn't a single death this test was there? For a minute there i was for worried for Methode, going on about taking on Fern by herself, and the point of underestimating Fern having come up several times. Probably didn't need to worry though, she seems to be on top of things.

Ubel IS scary! But honestly, Land may be saving the world by keeping Ubel (potentially) eternally distracted in her quest to empathize with him -- my sympathies go out to him but who knows! Maybe enemies-to-lovers can be a thing with this series!
