I feel like the stabbing of Luo Binghe by Shen Qingqiu we get to sort of see from Mo Xiang Tong Xiu again in Mo Dao Zu Shi with Jin Guangyao and Lan Xichen. The System forced Shen Qingqiu's hand, just as Nie Huaisang forced Lan Xichen's, and both had a hard time looking at the person they stabbed. Just with Jin Guangyao and Lan Xichen it was toward the end of Mo Dao Zu Shi. Luo Binghe and Shen Qingqiu it happens towards the beginning of their story 🥺 But yeah, there's so much build-up for the Endless Abyss only for it to end so much more painfully and then blip, its over and life goes on 😭 Shen Qingqiu: I'm not mourning like a wife who has lost her husband! Shen Qingqiu's disciples and rumours swirling around the Cultivation World: Shen Qingqiu is in the depths of grief over the loss of his precious student. Also Shen Qingqiu being able to see the changes in Ning Yingying's character, yet still being blind to any possibility of future plot changes because of his earlier actions and words 🤦‍♀ I was laughing at all the comments you made in the donghua when you said that it feels like they were leading up to the Abyss being that climatic end. In the donghua yes, in the novel...yeah, it wouldn't be a Mo Xiang Tong Xiu novel is she didn't suddenly fire a curveball at us right at the end of the volume 🤣 The reveal of Airplane Shooting Towards the Sky is perfectly done, and comes so out of left field that it leaves the reader feeling so off-kilter. But what better way to discover a fellow transmigrator than said transmigrator cursing 😆 Shang Qinghua adds a nice flavour of character to the story, I find. And it is nice for Shen Qingqiu to have someone he can talk to who is like him. The cave scene really showing off how good Mo Xiang Tong Xiu's horror/thriller writing is. Definite horror vibes with Shen Qingqiu being touched by someone/something that wasn't his two companions. Shang Qinghua's first thought when it comes to defence: pretend to faint like a damsel in distress! Definitely feel he'd be a survivor in a horror movie. Shen Qingqiu's "interest" in monsters being likened to other readers interest in the love interests is not even being subtle any more. But it did allow for a misunderstanding between Shen Qingqiu and Gongyi Xiao. Gongyi Xiao thinks Shen Qingqiu is some compassionate Cultivator on the same level as Buddhist monks, when in fact Shen Qingqiu just has a bit of a (concerning) interest in monsters 😆 Shang Qinghua just inviting Gongyi Xiao to spend time at someone else's peak without even asking Shen Qingqiu! So rude 🤣 I love Shang Qinghua questioning Shen Qingqiu about his feelings about Luo Binghe. Especially with Shen Qingqiu likening the feeling of that discussion to girls on a sleepover. Not an ominous way to end the volume at all(!) Definitely increases the anticipation of what's going to happen, what will go right, and what might go wrong. But definitely leaves you teetering at the edge of a cliff in wonder and fear. Why would Huckleberry make it easier on you to play with him? He's the boss and you're the one that needs to put effort in 🤣 Tara thankfully doesn't do that, though she's not great at dropping the ball for me to throw. She loves running around with it in her mouth and showing me she has her ball, but is happy enough to play with it herself instead of me continually having to play fetch with her 😆 So evil of us to let you count up all those B-Points only for them to just all be gone 🤣 Your theorising on how things might be okay between Luo Binghe and Shen Qingqiu is reminding me of your theorising for how Kagami and Kuroko could be together after The Last Game movie 😆 Just can't join you in creating headcanons this time to avoid giving you spoilers of what's to come 🤭 And now having seen the after credits scene you can understand why everyone is frothing at the mouth for more. Especially that glimpse of Mobei Jun 😍 And the lack of Shang Qinghua.

Woo, Airplane bro is here. I like his character so much. His friendship with Shen Qingqiu is so funny. I feel like he brings a new air to the story with him being a transmigrator too. But because he has been in this role for so many years, since he transmigrated as an infant, I feel like his perspective is a little bit diferent from Shen Quingqiu. Shen Yuan has been here for a couple of years and still sees most of the characters as NPCs. But for Shang Quinghua this is the people he has lived and grew with for years. I find it interesting. Anyway, Volume 2 here we go!!

I love SVSSS so much - count me as part of the feral fandom, complete with AO3 fics. I think you're spot on when you mentioned that a lot of us haven't commented as much because we don't want to unintentionally spoil anything... but we're definitely watching!

Just like ‘airplane shooting towards the sky’, ‘peerless cucumber’ is also id with dirty meanings as the ‘cucumber’ is supposed to resemble a certain male body part……it’s the big-d temple joke all over again LQG is like the awkward friend trying to comfort ppl who’s lost their pet but not really doing much “you can get another dog if you want, no need to cry” Donghua team: what do you mean we already run out of budget for the cliff scene? Alright alright, go change the hair monster to big worms and limit MBJ’s screen time, that’ll do the trick. And don’t forget the timer before the fall!

One book down, three to go! I can’t believe you’ve gotten through the first novel already. These ending chapters were quite the roller coaster huh? Going from sobbing when LBH got pushed in to freaking out about the SQH author reveal and all the hilarity and strangeness that follows. I liked your ideas about the symbolic connection between LBH and SQQ with the sword and the system. Especially the sword, like, this connection was good but due to how SQQ chose to handle it that connection is now causing harm. Even if that wasn’t his intention. It’s the kind of thing that makes one wonder ‘what could have been’ if SQQ framed things differently here. Even if the abyss was inevitable, that context could still make a big difference to LBH. Also I’m glad you’re having fun with SQH already. I always think he and SQQ are so funny when they get to interact. plus all the fun implications he brings just as a character. both in story and in 4th wall kind of ways. I also always roll my eyes at LQG during this part. Like, buddy, LBH isn’t a goldfish. You can’t just get a new one when the old one dies! thanks for the video! getting to see you react to these big events and twists was almost like getting to read it again for the first time ^.^

OH, the comparison with Yao and Xichen! I hadn’t thought of that but that’s so true! Ehh, but comparing Huaisang with the system – suggesting the system is the secret villain are we? *adds to conspiracy theories* I feel for SQQ mourning LBH’s loss! And of COURSE he notices changes around everyone else BUT LBH. *facepalm* Honestly, the reveal of Shang QingHua is INSANITY – I was NOT expecting this in the slightest! I am glad that SQQ has a fellow transmigrator in the story with him, but the CHAOS this could cause! And yes, the Cave Scene definitely reminded me of HOB with the “narrow corridor” moments throughout it! SQQ with his “concerning” interest in monsters…hmmmm…more on that I’ll have to comment later! And SQH questioning LBH’s feelings - it is like a gossipy sleepover! The MXTX cliffhangers are BACK WITH A VENGEANCE! And the now B-Points just GONE…how dare MXTX! Look, when I have a couple I like, I will go to any means to theorize how they can have a happy ending, hahahaha!!! Huckleberry is the LBH of my house, clearly. Ruby is more like Lan Wangji, though. I wish Huckleberry was happy enough to play with himself, but noooooo – and what’s worse is after a while, Ruby gets tired of his nonsense and scolds him, haha! Mobei-Jun looks amazing, though, and Shang Qinghua nowhere to be seen? SUS, donghua. Sus. Thank you for the comment and kind words!

Airplane Bro! I'm so excited to see how his relationship with SQQ goes in this story - it was definitely a TRIP getting him suddenly involved! And yeah, that is an interesting point of view! Thank you for the comment!

OH, yes, the Cucumber reference indeed! And seriously, how can SQQ not realize what that cucumber can reference? Is he THAT much of an oblivious peacock...judging from the story so far....yes, yes he seems to be! LQG's attitude is so funny like you said -- he's like a human cat - he gets the sadness but is like, "Here's a solution" and moves on. It makes me so sad with the donghua that it left off THERE when there was this madness RIGHT after it! *throws hands* Hahaha, thank you for the comment!

I can’t believe I’m through the first novel, either! This series is going to FLY by…like an airplane…shooting…towards the…. But YES, such a roller coaster! There were so many emotions just flooding through this! And yes, ALL THE WHAT IF’S – SQQ, I want to shake him! It could have been handled so much differently! SQH coming into the story is WILD. I was FLOORED. I am excited for his interactions with SQQ! And LQG – bless him, he’s so socially awkward but so great as a foil to SQQ, too! Thank you for the comment and kind words! I’m glad y’all get to relive the insanity through me a second time!

Something extremely funny about SQQ and SQH is that SQQ is, in total, like 25ish but LARPs as a world weary old man. Meanwhile, SQH is now like 50-70 and acts like a terminally online teenager.

Re:Peerless Cucumber, I am pretty sure Shen Yuan was absolutely making an intentional dick joke. He is just a total hypocrite for looking down on Airplane's name lol.
