Hey Everyone!

It's JanuYaoi in July! Just kidding, but I'm looking ahead at some series that could possibly be on the block for "Romania's Choice" Fridays after I'm finished with Uramichi Oniisan!

I'm looking for LEGIT Boys Love/Yaoi or Girls Love/Yuri series to possibly watch and preferably something in that 11-13 episode range -- I know, perhaps a difficult range!

It's new this season (episode one literally premiered yesterday), but Twilight Out of Focus looks like it will be a fun series. Of course, you could make the argument that it's better to wait until we know for sure that it's a good adaptation (which would be fair), but I wanted to at least name drop it for anyone unaware that a new BL anime has begun.

idk if it counts as a pure boys love story, but i recommend sarazanmai! it’s a very unique and queer story with a lot of thematic depth and the trademark ikuhara flare.

Not an anime, but Shimanami Tasogare (Our Dreams At Dusk) is an absolutely fantastic LGBT manga. Explicit gay rep, lesbian rep, trans rep, ace rep, and also gorgeous art and amazing plot. It's also only 23 chapters.

Serralinda Creates Fun Things!

Of the BL anime that fit into the episode range, Hitorijime My Hero is my favorite. I'd love for you to watch Junjou Romantica but it's three seasons and it really should be followed with Sekaiichi Hatsukoi. Gravitation might be a good one for you to watch - it's pretty much the first BL that was a series, not a couple of OVAs. Cherry Magic is cute and wholesome, same with Tadaima, Okaeri but... I didn't find any of the characters to be all that interesting.

Since you haven't watched much Yuri stuff, I would highly recommend Bloom Into You. One of the few yuris to take it seriously instead of just being fanservicey porn for a male demographic like most other yuris. It's also one of the only series I've seen that tackles aromanticism/asexuality in a really interesting and realistic way. It was very eye opening and personal for me as I discovered a lot about myself that I didn't realize until watching this series. I would heavily recommend this series.

Both are old anime but I'd like to recommend Gravitation (13 episodes) and Mirage of Blaze (13 episode + OVA). The first one is a manga adaption and the latter one is a novel adaption.

Oh and one I completely forgot: Whisper Me a Love Song! I haven't seen the anime but did read the manga, and I remember really enjoying it!

One of my all time favorites is Hybrid Child (OVA 4 episodes 25 minutes). The soundtrack is absolutely amazing too <3 would love to see you react to it.

I'm a huge fan of "I'm in love with the villianese" gl series I have all the manga and light novels and I think the anime was pretty good so far. Cherry magic is great bl too. Both the live action and the anime.
