 *MELODIC HEADPHONE WARNINGS*

Many thanks to @ StarmanAA for the commission this month!!

I love One Piece and have read it off and on for over 20 YEARS - so it's super fun to be finally diving into my first One Piece movie! And this one features one of my favorite One Piece characters: Shanks, y'all!

NOTE: There are SO MANY spoilers to where One Piece is at - if you don't want One Piece spoilers, this won't be for you, but otherwise, I hope you have as much fun with this wild ride as I did!

Loved the reaction & discussion! Even though… I stopped following One Piece a very long time ago and have only a faint idea of what the hell is going on in this. 😂 So watching this reaction without necessary info was a piece of performance art. 😂 Also, I watched half of this in the dub and it was really excellent! Thank you to StarmanAA for such a fun first commission. Cannot wait for next week! 💙

What a fun pick, thanks StarmanAA! And Romania! I've been wanting a good excuse to watch this movie for a few years, and now I have it! And getting to watch it reacted to by a more seasoned One Piece fan than myself, like Romania, was perfect, because I only have seen the live action (which I LOVED), and around 150 episodes of the anime - to the end of Crocodile's arc. So naturally I love Ace, he's like the politest and most well-mannered guy contrasted to Luffy, hard to believe they're related haha. The movie's opening was great, seeing the fog slowly uncover the audience, I loved the song breaking out so early on and seeing the familiar and unfamiliar faces (also Shanks, yes please!). It looks like the Straw Hat crew has come quite some way since I've last seen them! This movie did a great job in feeling like a One Piece concert, and the way it did the colors with the camera flying around the action felt perfect for a concert with all the lighting effects. Luffy never changes, haha! Always going to be king of the pirates, eat and sleep - Uta's magic wasn't going to convince him to walk away, I knew that immediately! I can't believe I didn't even recognize Koby at first, he looks so different now, his face is so much older looking! I loved seeing everyone's costumes too. I also ended up watching both the sub and dub, and I have heard AmaLee's (Uta's English VA, and a singer) performance of Tot Musica before on Spotify, so it was fun getting to hear the Ado version of the song and others in the movie. Both are amazing! I love it when singers show off that much range in their voices, they get both the highs and the raspy lows and it sounds so great! Great movie - I've wanted to see what OP would look like with a big budget behind it, and I'm glad I finally did get the chance! :)

Thank you for the comment and kind words! I really enjoy one Piece but I need to catch up because I feel SO MUCH happens in one arc! Hahaha, viewing this movie without context as "performance art" is HILARIOUS, but also fits with the plot, right?! :P And that's great to know that the dub is good! Yes, I'm so glad Starman AA got us a great movie to start the month of commissions off! Thank you for the comment! :3

I LOVE the live action of One Piece and am so looking forward to Season 2 – ohhhh, when they cast Ace, I will be feral! <3 The movie DEFINITELY felt like a One Piece concert - that’s such a good description - we basically had a live show…and a story with it, haha!! Luffy is such a constant in this show; he wasn’t one of my favorites at the start of the series, but around a specific point, he became one of my faves and hasn’t dropped since! Koby *whimsical sigh* I just love him to pieces - YEAH, he had a MASSIVE glow up in the show! Ooohh, that’s awesome about AmaLee being Uta’s English VA! That’s awesome! Yeah, it was neat seeing One Piece with a movie budget for sure, and this was a very fun little romp back into the OP world for me while I wait on season 2 of the live action! Thank you so much for the comment!

I didn't even think about the live action Ace showing up! It's all over if he's cast as well as Zoro and Luffy are! Really everyone, love that live action!

I don't think he'll show up "this" next season, but I'm so ready for it! But yeah, the casting is practically perfect for this series; I love it!
