*CARD-GATHERING HEADPHONE WARNINGS*

A quirky, fun female protagonist? An intriguing, literature-based sport? A love triangle established in the FIRST episode?! Oh, we're going to have fun with this show! I'm already on board with this series and learning about Kurata alongside Chihaya -- let's talk about this episode and the start of this new sports anime!

This one really got me paying a lot of attention in the competition, it’s so intense and I love the passion she has. I’m still waiting for the new season.

I've only heard good things about Chihayafuru, but never did get around to watching it. I'm looking forward to also seeing it for the first time.

And we start a new Sports anime, I'm excited! This first episode was so interesting to me, because I feel like I can't really tell where the story is going to go, or really how any of this will work, having never watched this show before. I'm very curious! Somehow, I think the sports side of it will feel pretty similar to how March was, considering both Karuta and Shogi are mainly Japanese sports and more on the slowwe, contemplative side of activity needed to play it. Chihaya is such a fun character already, I agree! Her lack of brain-to-mouth filter is pretty endearing, but I can see it getting her into a see of trouble. Look, generally speaking, I'm such a sucker for childhood-friends-turn-lovers, so Taichi's plight just resonates with me more XD Specially seeing as how he was one of those boys that pulls on a little girl's braids because they like them and want to call their attention when he was younger *lol* Now, the question is whether he was aware of it or not. Arata truly feels like the main mystery to me, from beginning to end, and it'll be very interesting to see how his relationship to these two kids affect everything. I have to low-key laugh, though, at the thought that Chihaya wanting to see her sisters become top model, being so fascinated by Arata's dream reminds me of Luffy XD Really, starting a new sports anime is so exciting! I had heard about Chihayafuru before, but it never perticularly called my attention, so this will be a fun way to get into contatct with it.

I’m already SO invested with this series! And yes, there is so much potential and so much up in the air with this show - definitely giving March vibes with that part of it and I will not complain! ^^ I love Chihaya so far - she’s going to have a lot of foot-in-mouth moments I’m sure, but I want to root for her already! I feel you on Taichi - I have a lot to say about his character in the episodes I’ve watched to come, haha, but yes, Arata is a mystery and I’m curious about his character as well! Chihaya being like Luffy? OH. I’m IN and can so see it, too, now that you’ve mentioned it! I have had this series on the radar for YEARS so it’s great to finally be getting into it! Thank you for the comment and kind words!
