Despite being very intimidating, some of the notable ghosts have had very human sides to them. Wen Kexing’s liking to Zhou Zishu, Liu Qianqiao gaining her transformation skills out of a moment of charity and sentimentality, and Tragicomic Ghost believing her Wedding-Funerals are for the sake of justice for hurt women. It’s like what Gu Xiang said to Kexing how in under certain conditions, the ghosts can be very human. I kind of respect that Pretty Arhat is like “we are not going to do anything weird to this child, we’re just going to water board him like normal evil people” Scorpion King has the best eye makeup in the show!

Romania: I just want Zhou Zishu and Wen Ke Xing to make up and be together. This episode certainly grants that wish, just with a little minor kidnapping of Chengling first 😅 I love the scene of Wen Ke Xing with the TragiComic Ghost and the Alluring Ghost. It's really interesting to see the dynamic they have with each other. Especially with how the TragiComic Ghost willingly speaks up (and speaks in a somewhat critical manner of Wen Ke Xing) now that it is just the three of them. It really gives you the feeling that the gathering of Ghosts in Episode 10 was the way they act in public, and then this episode is the three of them removing the masks they wear and just being themselves when in private like this. They also do such a great job of showing how close all three are with each other, and portraying that it is definitely a platonic relationship the TragiComic Ghost and Alluring Ghost have with Wen Ke Xing. It can sometimes be a fine line between portraying such closeness without tipping over into there being more romantic/sexual feelings involved. Gu Xiang's sudden appearance is perfect 🥰 And I just love her fight against the assassins. Zhou Zishu just being an angsty drunk hurts my heart. As much as I wish Chengling didn't have to go through torture but it is a good way to get Zhou Zishu to get out of his ennui. And we also get reason for Wen Ke Xing turning up at the same place. I love the reaction Wen Ke Xing shows upon finding out that Chengling's been taken 🥺 Such envy for Qin Song's make-up skills! 😍 I just adore the differences between Pretty Arhat and Evil Bodhisattva. Both in their approach in torturing Chengling, but also their movements, clothes and fighting styles. Definitely agree though that they just need to make-out already 😆 Wen Ke Xing's soft way of threatening Qin Song is terrifying, and I love every minute of it 🥰 Chengling's bravery 🥺 I love him standing against the torture. Our baby boy has grown so much! Zhou Zishu knows how to make an entrance! This moment I call his badass Aragon entrance 😆 I specifically think of it as 'badass' because he uses some random minions to open the door rather than the way Aragon opens those double doors at Helm's Deep 🥰 Also Chengling recognising his Master by his sword rather than how he looks is such a perfect moment to remind the viewer that he hasn't seen Zhou Zishu since his disguise was removed. Favourite moment of this episode though has to be Wen Ke Xing just shoving the assassins out of the way to get to Zhou Zishu's side 🥰 His anger at them hurting his soulmate is just perfect. Wen Ke Xing willingly cooking for them all, and (judging by his expression) his soft expression when Zhou Zishu first passes the food over to Chengling to eat, really shows how much they've grown from their first gathering around a camp fire [when Gu Xiang made the food for them]. A hundred percent agree that Wen Ke Xing needs to stop looking so soft and innocent. It's such an interesting juxtaposition that he can be this way in comparison to how terrifying he can be too. Yes! I can finally congratulate you on getting it right for the truth about Chengling's wound and the Glazed Armour! 🥳 I take my hat off to Gao Chong's actor. To be able to have such an emotional one-way conversation with his dead brothers and having only their tablets there, and the religious paintings surrounding him. He really did manage to help the viewer see that Gao Chong has layers to him, and in his hidden room with the memorial tablets he is able to shed the persona of who he is before his people and the rest of the world, and he can let loose his feelings of grief, anger, frustration, and pain. Chengling is too dang precious! 🥺 I adore him being in the middle between them and immediately twigging to the air between them, and wanting to fix matters with them. He really is such a sweetheart. Gotta love Zhou Zishu telling Wen Ke Xing to keep the past in the past when he was getting a little emotional with his story about the body. But then when he offers to take Chengling as his student he needs to tell him all that he was. In that moment he does not follow his own words. It's adorable that Wen Ke Xing steps in to give Chengling the prod to follow the final steps in taking Zhou Zishu as his Master. And then to see Zhou Zishu smile and being so genuinely happy at the idea that the Four Seasons Manor will have another student, he isn't the last, yeah it makes me just want to give him the biggest hug 🥺 Okay no, I had to pause the video to laugh so hard I almost gave myself a stitch when you suggested Wen Ke Xing also hid a piece of the Glazed Armour on his body, specifically near his penis 🤣 Gon Jun definitely deserves all the accolades for his performance in this show. He portrays emotions so well, and the switch-up with how he reacts to things could almost give you whiplash because you can so clearly tell what exact emotions he's portraying in each moment. Totally agree with your reasoning for why Cao Weining is perhaps the better option for Gu Xiang over Chengling 😆 He's certainly much more simple and has money to keep her fed 🤣 Two things that can keep Gu Xiang happy. Your questioning about the poison on the sword all I can think of is Kronk's spiel about the poison for Kuzco from The Emperor's New Groove 🤣 But I do like that Chengling doesn't jump to conclusions that because it was Gao Chong's blade that had the poison on it doesn't necessarily mean he was the culprit. It does leave some added mystery on if Gao Chong did put poison on his sword or if someone else did it (and whether Gao Chong knew this and was therefore complicit, or didn't know and was instead used to poison Rong Xuan). Ending the episode when everything is so sweet and happy definitely teases you because you just want to see more of them like that. But at least it didn't end like the last two episodes with Wen Ke Xing and Zhou Zishu still at such odds with one another 😁

The passing wine scene reminded me of when couples fight and are like "tell your mother X" and "tell your father Y", lol.

Loved Zishu bursting into the room like he’s the dad from Taken! ^.^ However, as much as I love how WK says he’ll tear apart whoever hurt Zishu, it makes me more worried about how he’ll take it once he finds out about the nails I enjoy your discussions about this series! I think hearing you go over everything is helping me keep all the groups and dynamics straight in my head Thanks for the video!

All of the scenes with WKX and the ghost women are all so interesting. We get his close and kinda fatherly relationship with him and Gu Xiang. Then the two women whom Gu Xiang picked up. Then now we have the Tragicomic and Alluring Ghost. He is still stern with them, but compared to how he treats the male ghosts, it is clearly different. Seeing ZZS in his assassin mode again for a bit is nice. He looks so good confidently fighting and talking down to the Scorpions lol. Okay we as the audience know that WKX and ZZS are actually good to CL. But the fact that his father told him to trust no one, and then the people he choose to trust are a former assassin leader and a current ghost chief, that never fails to make me laugh. CL is like the kid awkwardly trying to fix his parents' relationship lol. And also I love that he immediately assumes that it was WKX who is in the wrong and tells him to apologize. Gao Chong's actor is so good in his scene with the memorials. Ah yessss the shoulder blades connection. Now we know why he is so fixated on them. First it was funny now it's sad 😭 ZZS shared information about his past with CL to welcome him as a disciple of course, but I feel it's also a gentle nudge to WKX, since it came right after WKX refused to give him an answer again to the question "Who are you really?". ZZS spent his time post-breakup wallowing in his misery, but he also questions himself a lot, like "can I really judge him? do I really want to do this? do I want to stay here and watch this? do I want to waste the rest of life drinking to death?". And CL gives him a push to make the decision on how he wants to go on, then he tries to extend that to WKX too. It's such a beautifully done scene.

I just love the ghost scenes as well! And WKX definitely feels like a father figure to GX! Yeah, his interactions with the female ghosts are all very different from the male ones - ahem haha! I also like seeing ZZS in assassin mode only if it will show him being confident again and not in complete angst land. Also, YES, the irony that the ones Chengling loves and trusts the most now are an assassin leader and chief ghost are hilarious. Bless him for working to get them to makeup! It is really sad how WKX’s connection to the shoulder blades have such a dark origin. Yes, agreed on Gao Chong’s actor! I agree that this scene at the end is so good and such a way to allow for ZZS to find a way to reveal more of himself and maybe that will encourage WKX to do the same in the future? Right?! Chengling not only gets justice but gets the role of couples’ therapy counselor! And he was very brave and has grown so much this episode! I love the ghost dynamics throughout this series! They really have such found family vibes, especially between WKX and the Alluring and Tragicomic ghosts - and GX for that matter. And WKX being all “soft threatening” to the assassins was amazing! And ZZS making his entrance? Loved it too! But yeah, WKX shoving those assassins aside? BRILLIANT. ZZS being the angsty drunk makes me sad - I’m glad that despite the kidnap plot it did all work out well for getting them back together! The assassins know how to do makeup! ;) And I love our lady assassins so much as well! But yeah, get that sexual tension out of the way, ladies! The fireside scene was so gentle and wonderful! For all the reasons you mentioned! Also, the confirmation on Chengling was crazy! ZZS and WKX opening up in that scene was so wonderful. And WKX helping to nudge Chengling? So cute! AHEM, but of COURSE - where else would WKX hide that piece…except…for his piece. ;) Gao Chong’s actor was fantastic! And Gong Jun is an INCREDIBLE actor, honestly! And the Kuzco poison! :P Another mystery to add!! Yessss, at least we didn’t have a cliffhanger! Thank you for the comment and kind words!
