This series continues to surprise me in the best way! Kurosawa has been our "perfect white knight" so far, but is he TRULY perfect? Or will Adachi and us the audience get to see what lies beneath that stoic, Adonis-like composure?!

This episode was SO good but then, the entire season has been so far!

Boo about the stress making you feel sickly but glad to hear you were feeling better while recording this. Rokkaku continually getting Adachi's name wrong reminds me so much of that one scene between Uenoyama and Itaya in Given where Itaya continually calls Mafuyu by other common Japanese surnames except for the right one "Sato" 😆 The song Rokkaku sings at the karaoke is actually his rendition of the Ending song. I've heard Shirai Yuusuke sing a few different songs and yet with voicing Rokkaku he sings a bit more enthusiastically (fitting for the energy he gives this episode) and slightly nasally. Truly amazing for seiyuu to be so talented to be able to sing in the same voice they use for a character. An example of a song you have heard by the seiyuu is the Ending song for Sasaki and Miyano. Jealousy plays quite the factor in so many of Kurosawa's actions this episode, and while it makes him show off a little (like with his singing) it never pushes him so far that he crosses the line with Adachi. Such a green flag 💚 Also while Rokkaku sings the Ending, Kurosawa sings the Opening for our anime for his karaoke song. I do kinda love that choice by the anime rather than having two other song inserts. The moment with the plaster/band-aid I relate so much with Adachi on not being able to open it. Some brands of plasters we get here are fine and easy enough to open, others the two pieces of paper are almost completely stuck together and unless you have good nails they can be near impossible to open. When I was in Japan though I got Band-Aids for the first time (the proper American brand ones), so I can understand you saying "Just rip it open" as they're much easier to open. But at least this way with the non-branded plasters we got the soft moment between Kurosawa and Adachi 🥰 When I was first watching this I did have to look up what shiratama is, and why Kurosawa would describe Adachi's tummy like that. Basically they're a kind of sweet dumpling that is almost like mochi. Like you, I really love the moments we get Kurosawa's inner thoughts without it being thanks to Adachi's power. It gives us the viewers a better glimpse into Kurosawa's thoughts and feelings that Adachi isn't privy to. It really is a great way to highlight that men can be sexually harassed as well with that whole scene with Kurosawa and the female president. It's also quite interesting to have both this moment and the harassment moment Fujisaki faced in the same episode. I think by having both moments occur in the same episode further cements that both cases are sexual harassment, and that both situations should be treated seriously and not played off as a joke like how some anime might. For this event in their past to also be when Kurosawa started to fall for Adachi is intriguing. Kurosawa was the "knight in shining armour" in saving Adachi from drinking the copious amount of alcohol but it resulted in Kurosawa falling for him, rather than the typical romance/fairy tale trope of Adachi being the one to fall because of such a moment. Instead we get Adachi seeing the effort Kurosawa put in, not just his face like how others were viewing him 🥺 Love the comparison between Adachi and Kurosawa with Maomao and Jinshi 😍 Now, imagine if Maomao or Jinshi had Adachi's ability 🤣 Gotta admit with the way you worded your suggestion that everyone could be virgins all I could think was the Oprah meme only it's "You're a virgin! And you're a virgin! And everybody's a virgin!" 😂 Shirai Yuusuke (Rokkaku's seiyuu) sounds very different here in comparison to when he voices Sasaki from Sasaki and Miyano. Interesting bit of coincidence though with Sasaki and Miyano also being your last BL outside of JanuYaoi and danmei 😂 Also Fujisaki (the female secretary) is voiced by Koshimizu Ami, who is also the seiyuu for Pairin from Apothecary Diaries; Minami (one of Kaito's older sisters) from Tsurune; Sirius from Boku no Hero/My Hero Academia; Kouyou from Bungou Stray Dogs; Kallen from Code Geass; Yuri from Death Note; and the Mother Spider Demon from Kimetsu no Yaiba/Demon Slayer. So glad you're having fun with this series and enjoying all that it's throwing at you. Thanks for the amazing reaction and discussion. Now to wait another week for more 😣

*Tugs shirt in bittersweet yearning* Oh to be in loveeee. This episode hit a bit different for me personally. Not in a sad or bad way just… nostalgic & poignant. From Kurosawa’s thoughts, to Adachi’s sentiments, and maybe even a couple of their experiences. Quite a number of them in hindsight. The body insecurities (not being super fit) was funny to me because I struggled gaining weight growing up so being buff never happened haha. I guess I could try out lifting weights with a hearty diet but the consistency may be really hard lol. Adachi squishing his tummy in embarrassment may be due to Kurosawa. How convenient that we don’t hear his thoughts as well here. 😆 Later on, as we leave the sauna. There’s that moment with Kurosawa thinking “That doesn’t make sense.” This line hit me like a truck. Feelings are never that simple.. or are they? 🙃 That thought took me back to how I first thought of my crush. The realization was scary to me and denial ensued. In my mind having those emotions for a friend.. a guy was impossible. “I never liked a guy before so how can that be?” *cough* *cough* let me back track. 😆 So we start off having a company karaoke party(?) with our two main leads. That’s pretty neat, it’s definitely a nice way to get everyone to socialize & just have fun. We got to see a little more of the coworkers like Rokkaku & Fujisaki which is cool. I like that we grow more and more familiar with what kind of workplace we are in. Adachi doesn’t regard himself high as we noticed… but we see how he interacts with others that we (the audience) can’t help but come back to when we see Kurosawa’s flashback. (We’ll get to that soon) He gives the newbie some medicine when he hears Rokkaku thoughts of drinking a tad too much. Then he steps up to protect Fujisaki when he sees her in a pinch. What’s admirable is that he doesn’t think twice before acting on his desire to help. Like.. yes, he does say he “… shouldn’t have stepped out of my comfort zone.” when the two men from the Narasaki Corporation got confrontational. But he did so before considering how they would have responded. And I think that says something. Poor Fujisaki, you can tell she was at a complete loss. Even if she were to walk away they’d definitely followed right behind her. Those pricks were lucky they got off easy. Now… on another note. It was such a delight to hear Kurosawa sing on stage. I’ve been following his va for quite a while now and I just loveee that he’s singing in this series. Not just in CM’s Ed but also in the show overall. While I didn’t see lyrics of what he was saying I could understand a good gist. Adachi he chose that song because of youuu silly. 🤭 Sooooo we get to the Sauna huh. LOL- that was not my beach episode but I’ll take it. 🤣 Was not expecting this kind of turn of event but it’s very much welcomed. Now, listen… the way they animate and draw the men- especially Kurosaw?!?! *Respectfully looks* They knowww what they’re doing haha. We are all seeing how his pants fit him… and now we see him without? The fan-service is real *steamy* this time around haha. It’s not distracting per se. I’m not at all complaining. 😝 So, yeah it’s funny that even with Kurosawa trying to impress Adachi, he doesn’t get so much as a glance! He’s not even looking his way pfft. Kudos to Rokkaku for making this happen in the first place. He wanted to go to one with Adachi & ofc Kurosawa tags along haha. We love an ally lmaooo. Their visit to a sauna was mostly relaxing.. until it got awkward. 😆 (Adachi we should work out cause we’re not getting younger ahsjfjfjf) Anyhow, it’s great to see more of Kurosawa’s internal tension he has with his feelings. We find out that he’s only dated women & while he’s fantasized of Adachi…. It was to an extent(?) interesting… I don’t suppose he’s done any umm.. research. Ahsjfjfjfj I know I did haha. I’m not kidding when I say this episode threw me in a loop. And finally we get to the moment those two walking back home. Some cute moments ensue and as Kurosawa spaces out we get a flashback months before this day. Even before Adachi’s 30th birthday. (The day he got his power) I won’t spend too much time talking about it but I also appreciate the nuances & realistic scenarios Cherry Magic is pulling. I do love the point you made about “equality” and how skewed the circumstances would be if it wasn’t a BL series. President Matsuura was in fact taking advantage of her status/position. Now… I would find it hard to believe that she wasn’t fully aware what kind of position that leaves others when she pushes them to do something she wants. 😑 As soon as she placed her hand on his lap I could not give her the benefit of the doubt. Don’t give me she was “intoxicated” card. Had this not been a BL series I can already imagineeeee male fans excusing her actions and or comment how they wish it was them. 😑What she did cannot be tolerated nor excused. He was intoxicated & clearly did not consent to being touched. Especially like having someone run up their hand on your thigh. That’s NOT okay. Since he drank Adachi’s portion it definitely didnt sit well that he likely threw up. The entire endeavor was just a mess and his coworkers certainly had some screw looses cause why are they coming for him?? He upset the president… Dude she was putting her hands on him & you guys didn’t even bother checking on him. *Sigh* The night isn’t yet over and we see Adachi come after him and we get a super tender moment. He’s even lying down on Adachi’s lap!! He comforts him and mentions how attentive he is. Not just a pretty face in his eyes. 🥹After hearing his words he’s moved into tears.. and his heart flutters. We cut back to the present & Adachi still shows the same traits he saw back then. How sweeeet 💖 “Why do you have to make me fall for you even harder?” I’ve had that thought before and it really takes me back. Those overwhelming feelings are daunting but beautiful and I learned alot from it. Can’t wait to see how we move on from here. 🎉 P.S. I don’t think they’re getting together any time soon. (Like maybe in the second half?) cause it feels like the show is taking their time. Not just in developing their relationship but also they themselves as an individual. I almost wanna call this one a slow burn but it may be too early to tell. Or maybe my perception of a “slow burn” is hella skewed LOL. Speaking of slow burn im laughing out loud at the mention of Maomao & Jinshi in the discussion. Ohh, I can see the parallels! To wrap this up, I wonder if we’ll touch more about Adachi’s power next ep. There’s still that whole lore to explore right? 🙃 As always it’s great to tag along right behind you each episode! 👀 welp- until next time ❤️

Kurosawa did have to ponder his sexuality for a moment, but I like that he immediately conceded “No I like him, I want to touch him” very endearing lol I wish queerness was as easy and fast to accept in real life

Thank you! I feel 100% better since getting back from my convention with my brother! And oooh, nice connection with Rokkaku and Itaya! Huzzah for side characters in BL! 😛 That is hilarious about it being the ED! His voice sounds a little familiar! But seriously, to sing “in-character” is TALENT for sure! I like that we see Kurosawa show off his jealousy in a “healthy” way with the karaoke – and It’s funny that Kurosawa sings the OP! 😛 But yes, green flags indeed! The struggle of the band-aid! I cannot wear fake nails because I would be challenged to do ANYTHING with them on! Hahaha!! But yes, if it gives us more Adachi x Kurosawa moments, who are we to argue with that? And Kurosawa calling Adachi’s stomach like mochi, affectionately? AW. I like that we get insight into his thoughts to get him like Adachi where we get “both sides” of the relationship. And YES - Kurosawa and the female president is a fantastic example of harassment against men and the show handled the situation so well throughout! And how it led these two to having their moments together and transforming the tropes of a fairy tale romance and how they were subtly growing closer behind the scenes before the series even started? LOVE. ANd Oohhhhh, if Jinshi had Adachi’s ability? Maybe this series wouldn’t be as long…but I’m not sure if that would be good or bad – we need MaoMao to have Adachi’s ability! That would be the better way to go! Hahahah, I’m the Oprah of virginity…well…wait…no. 😛 Yes! Shirai sounds VERY different than Sasaki! I love that he’s in this as well! That’s awesome about the secretary from the series and her VA too! I am ADORING this series! I cannot wait for this week’s episode! Thank you for the comment and kind words!

THE YEARNING, YES! I definitely can relate to the body insecurity and it’s so wild how Kurosawwa and Adachi think so differently about altered issues in that one scene! But yeah, the moment you realize you like someone is such a revelation - I’m glad you can tell us your perspective on this as well and connect with Kurosawa, there, and well - Adachi as well in a sense. I like we get more with the coworkers! I hate how little Adachi regards himself when the “popular man in the workplace” thinks so HIGHLY of him! I really like all of our characters so far! And I agree, Kurosawa’s VA has such a nice voice! 😀But yeah, I want to shake Adachi because Kurosawa was clearly trying to impress him! Rokkaku is a real one for getting all this organized with the sauna! And I love to get some of Kurosawa’s internal tension without Adachi knowing as well! Yeah, the president was *awful* and I agree, if this wasn’t a BL - *sigh* - I could only imagine the comments, though I would like to give folks benefit of the doubt, but you know how the internet can be! But I’m glad the show explores that idea of consent and how it is presented to multiple genders and we rarely see men harassed in this way, so I applaud the show for doing this! I’m at least glad it led to that moment of Adachi being so kind to him! I definitely think they’re not getting together anytime soon, either, but we shall see, right?!
