https://youtu.be/MCilHPm4v5E?si=_oTKsF-8PM-HeI2l So I recalled that last year’s cicada invasion, there were a bunch of recipes on how to prepare them. Apparently they kinda taste like shrimp? I’d try one! The cicada lore you went through was fascinating! It makes a lot of sense the way you explained it. I love cicadas. To me their song fills me with calm. I just wish it wasn’t so bloody hot when they are out! I don’t have a lot to add to your reaction, you were very thorough! I knew you would have a lot to sink your teeth into with this episode! I have never watched JJK. I did read it up to Volume 5 and dropped it. It was getting a bit convoluted for me. 🤷‍♀️ I also have not read nor watched AOT. Although, I do know about the Hallucigenia, unfortunately… now on every pre-Cambrian video I watch, they mention AOT. I bring this up because I have no idea what you are talking about! Hahahahah! I do love the way this is edited, adding in real photos in with the animation. That marinating chicken! I must say, that visual was, not appetizing! This past weekend, we did marinate some chicken and we made Peruvian Chicken. https://youtu.be/rhIHkDY8zDk?si=wYMAxaWNxGZxJt56. It turned out divine! A more traditional Chinese marinade would be: minced garlic, soy sauce, sugar, corn starch and sesame oil. That’s a basic marinade. Well, I managed to drop a recipe in a BL horror reaction! I am really enjoying your reactions to this series so far! I kept my comments a bit lighter in tone this week. So, looking forward to next week’s episode! Edit: ran across this very good video essay on BL. https://youtu.be/BrDML1ZaNaM?si=N2iPLJDQwIgy_KWh

Is it weird that it feels like forever ago that there was the cicada invasion?! It feels that way for me - You almost have me sold saying they taste like shrimp though! Hahaha!! And I honestly associate Cicadas with “anime summers” so the atmosphere they create is so good! Ahhh, HAHA, I would…recommend JJK for sure! It’s a Shonen but there’s some really good symbolism that happens in some later volumes, if that helps! And Attack on Titan is one of my favorite series…I won’t spoil anything though but…I actually think you would LOVE AOT based on your comments in other series. The real photos is so interesting! I will talk about it in the upcoming DanDaDan episode, but I’ve seen it in that, Bocchi the Rock - I wonder if it’s a trend in anime right now? It feels like an interesting coincidence if it’s not! And ooohhh Peruvian Chicken sounds amazing! I need to get my brother to come over so I can do another Dungeon Meshi cooking video with him – I’ve been craving it! Ahh, thank you for the video on BL - I may not be able watch it for now for risk of potential spoilers #thelifeofablindreactor, but I “saved it in my ‘watch later’ folder and I appreciate you sending it! Thank you! And thank you for the comment and kind words - I’m so happy y’all are enjoying the discussions and I am so ready for Episode 3!

As a completionist, it hurt my heart to put down JJK. Although, I absolutely loved Todo! Maybe one of these days I’ll pick it back up and finish it. Yes AOT is on my tbr list for sure! That list gets longer every year! So I’m nearing the last few volumes of Natsume’s book of friends. I have like 10 series I’mb working on at the same time! Why do I do that to myself! I am reading Black Butler as well! 😉 So every year I try to focus in on a book series or author to read. I have just a few more books from Ursula K LaGuin to finish. The Dispossessed is my next novel. I also have read a Shirley Jackson novel, The Haunting of Hill House. This was suggested by one of my patients and I enjoyed the book, then I watched the Netflix adaptation! Hahaha. The book was better. I was thinking about what my mom’s favorite books were, the Decameron and Clan of the Cave Bear! What a contrast! Now, I’m a big fan of Clan of the Cave Bear, (the movie is trash) and I know Netflix (again) adapted the Decameron, but the premise seems right up my alley! My mom loved that book. One thing I have to do soon is try to restore my mom’s copy of the book. She read the cover right off of it. I have to rebind it and I found some book binders in my area! I have a few books I need to have rebound. It was my grandfather’s copy originally and it’s in Spanish. I don’t read Spanish. But, it’s is one of the few books that survived from my grandparents generation. I will eventually pass it on to my niece. I hope she will appreciate it!

I hope you get a chance to get back into it at some point! I really love JJK and I am PATIENTLY waiting for season 3, haha! Oohhh, I love that you’ve been going through Natsume’s book of friends - that series is such a comfort anime and I love it! But yes, the list grows ever longer, I agree! And Black Butler - ah, Sebastian, my love! And I’m not surprised the book is better in that case! 😀Such it goes! That is interesting about your mom’s favorite books - I may have to add those to my ever-growing list! That is amazing about the cover being read right off - I love that - I did that to a few comic books growing up! 😀I love that you’re rebinding it and passing it on as an heirloom - I love that idea! <3 And I’m sure she will appreciate it!!
