*SKIPPING AROUND HEADPHONE WARNINGS*

I won't lie; I paused the reaction in complete fear that I had skipped an episode. Luckily, I've been informed about the reasons but regardless: The moments between Wen KeXing and Zhou Zishu were AMAZING, things are escalating at rapid speed, and I am just over here hoping everyone will be okay so I can continue to enjoy the fangirl-worthy moments between these two!

The disciples are the ones left from the four seasons people. Uncle Bi was the one that got the nails in the first episode. One of the ones that did the rescue is named after him. That's why they will now be the start of the new four seasons sect.

The rescue of Zhou Zi Shu was already intense, but the way Wen Kexing literally dropped from the sky? Peak dramatic entrance. That’s been his thing since episode 1, hasn’t it? Always showing up just when Zi Shu is in the worst possible spot. Honestly, it felt like a deliberate callback to when he first swooped in to save him from the Ghost Valley ambush early on. Classic Wen Kexing — half a demon in red, half knight in shining armor. I love how Wen Kexing swoops in facing the carriage instead of the Window of Heaven disciples—like his focus is only on Zi Shu. And I love the detail on his white fan, stained with the blood of the Window of Heaven disciples he just took down—such a striking, meticulous touch! And then ‘barely-breathing’ Zhou Zi Shu tries to step in to help, haha. My dude… what exactly are you planning to do in that state?” One moment that hit me harder than expected was Han Ying’s legacy — entrusting the former Window of Heaven disciples to Wen Kexing. That scene where they all knelt before Zhou Zishu is so powerful. It really felt like the rebirth of Four Seasons Manor, but this time rooted in trust and bonds rather than hierarchy. Kind of wild when you remember how Zi Shu started out wanting to die alone — now he literally has an entire generation kneeling to him as their leader. And finally—after all this time—Wen Kexing truly steps into the Four Seasons Manor. You can feel just how much it means to Zhou Zi Shu, like a missing piece of his world finally clicking into place. And to be fair… Zhou Zi Shu looking absolutely wrecked when they arrive on horseback? Relatable. If I were that wounded and had to bounce around on a horse the whole way back, I wouldn’t just look worse—I’d have already tapped out halfway through (I say this as a «horse girl» myself). Also, Bi Xingming is a disciple of Bi Chang feng, who was one of the Four Seasons Manor masters—and basically Zhou Zi Shu’s martial uncle (the guy who Zhou Zi Shu put nails into in the beginning of the series). Oh my lord, I am living for the scene where Wen Kexing brushes Zhou Zi Shu’s hair! So tender, so intimate. The absolute trust Zhou Zi Shu has in him—knowing Wen Kexing would come no matter what—is just everything. And then Wen Kexing puts his own hairpin in Zhou Zi Shu’s hair?! The love/proposal symbolism!! Plus, seeing Zi Shu’s happy reflection in the mirror… aaaah! Thank goodness the censors are on an all-expenses-paid trip to the Bahamas and not coming back anytime soon! Also, given the budget constraints, even though things felt a bit rushed (I would’ve loved a 45-episode Word of Honor instead of 37), I think they did an excellent job summarizing the events that didn’t make the final cut. They truly made the most of what they had, and honestly, it was still such an incredible episode! Huge kudos to the team for their dedication to this series. Shoutout again to Cao Weining for being the ultimate ride-or-die—never wavering, always choosing Gu Xiang over literally everything else. This guy’s commitment level is off the charts—I’ve never seen loyalty like this in any series or movie. Also, the whole question of whether Wen Kexing can outwit the Scorpion King is so tense. Honestly, with those two, it’s anyone’s guess—they’re both brilliant and cunning, but they each have that ‘certain someone’ who can make them lose it. Makes it impossible to predict how things will play out. Aaaand… the Ghost Valley Chief vs. Scorpion King stare-down? My god, these two are way too handsome—like the show just paused for us to swoon! I love how once Shen Shen steps away from the politics of the martial world, he becomes so much calmer and more level-headed. Being away from all that chaos really seems to have done him good—he’s wiser, steadier, and guided by better principles. And that revelation—that Wen Kexing never had the Glazed Armor and used the whole charade to ignite the corruption of the martial world—is so him. Every move screams his truth: exposing the rot lurking beneath the so-called ‘righteous,’ proving to Zi Shu that even those who claim virtue often hide the darkest secrets. And that final moment with Luo Fumeng is heartbreaking—her regret for not saving everyone, her care for Wen Kexing, and the pain in her eyes as she listens to him talk about his dark plans… it’s all so raw and gut-wrenching.

I was also confused the first time I watched this! and I hadn't read the novel yet either.

Be Happy

Youhou ep 31 finally .. you can’t imagine how impatient I was for you to reach this episode because the coherent moments 😂 that we had were so very rewarding First of all, your confusion was so very understandable and relatable. The pacing change was really confusing at first watch and you re left wondering: did I miss something ? > a rite of passage 😛 But seriously I just want to thank the production of the show because they really did do the best they could with what they have and with a lot of love. The show suffered post pandemic because the a lot of casted actors quit for other projects because financially it was rough. It was almost cancelled if Wolong nuts didn’t step upand even that didn’t prevent difficulties that were felt later (namely production conditions as some commenters inform you and especially 8 episodes less than what was initially planned) Some actors like Peng ju’s actor were initially technical crew (he was assistant director of I a remembering right and step up to fill the role last minute), Adding the censorship to the mix and the writer using every trick possible to get it approved without altering the core of the story (a BL dressed as a bromance) and I can only say a big thank you to the crew that was able to give us this show with this quality even with those difficult conditions. Now I m not going to talk about anything cut because as we already talked, there is still episodes left + the novel so there will be plenty time then to discuss this I ll more focus about what I like in this episode and there is a lot. 1/ WKX coming as the Knight/ Villain in a bright shining red Ghost valley robe to save his bf was as badass as it can be.. I missed that sassy and unapologetic gremlin .. *him saying to Peng Ju : Oops you outed me .. that was supposed to be a secret* is one of the funniest moment of the show imo 😂 But with that you can also see the murderous intent in his eyes when he turned to face the window of Heaven soldiers : how dare they took his bf and torture him.. they have a death wish.. That GLORIOUS moment when WKX kneels before ZZS ( you guessed it right, that was one of my two very fav scenes of this ep 🥰) is so emotionally charged!! Not only he shed all facade and bend the knee, him the most powerful man in GV, in front of all his subordinate.. but also and especially, he finally, finally acknowledged, accepted and embraced his appartenance to the Four season manor sect and officially paid respect to his Senior. since the Long cabinet arc and the reveal of his identity, ZZS was tiptoeing and walking on eggshells around him about that very sour subject. Everytime he panics, deflects, denies it, rejected it .. because he didn’t deem himself worthy of being ZZS’s shidi. He s done so many wrong things.. but it took his true identity to be revealed, for ZZS to protect him and be willing to die for/with him and for him to accept him WHOLE, unconditionally for him to let go of that fear and decide that he is finally Home, because ZZS is his soulmate, his Senior but especially his home. Now the Hairpin scene _squee_ how could that even pass the censorship!! I was flabbergasted the first time.. we have WKX kneel, then propose? Show what are you doing to us? Jokes aside, that was the most intimate, open hearted moment between them to date. Few words were exchanged, but they were very powerful… ZZS having the ultimate faith that WKX will come save him was almost too much for our ghost chief to handle Someone having that much faith in you let’s put a ring on it, or in that case a hairpin Also ZZS asking WKX if he is going to share his burdens, is in my eyes that was his way to propose a long life commitment to WKX .. love these two. Sweetest scene ever ZZS actor supposedly joked about adding a kiss to the scene.. I wonder if the director had a heart attack that day 😂😂 WKX is sure a bad influence on ZZS, or is he? The presence of Lord Seventh and The Great Shaman continues to be a delightful addition to the squad, the chemistry between them is amazing. WKX and SK being on the same frame is surreal.., those two were undeniably (along ZJ) the puppet masters behind all the events that happened since ep 1 so the two meeting finally was an absolutely epic moment, such charisma and power and similarities yet also differences.. Another intimate moment is WKX discussion with Tragicomic Ghist, hearing her adresssing him with the endearment A’Xing and him calling her Aunt Luo was so heartwarming. They both care for each other, her seeing him as maybe a son and him seeing her a the only adult figure that cared for him in those horrible years in GV. WKX trusts very few people mainly Ah Xu and À xiang but Tragicomic is certainly a trustworthy person for him to spill all of that to her. And it’s through that discussion that you see the moment WKX finally clocks that him being exposed to Drunk like a Dream in ep 5 and in later episodes was the reason the effect of the water of Lethe (Oblivion) got nullified and his deepest obsession and regret that he buried deep in his subconscious came back to the surface : the fact he led ZJ to his parents home which led to their death. It’s a simple moment of realization but Gong Jun portrayed it with such perfection through his facial expression and eyes play. Gong Jun and Zhan ZEHAN were on their A game through the whole 30 last episodes but in this one ? They decided to go all out. Amazing discussion and reaction as always ❤️

I’m glad I ended up watching the latter half of the season alongside your videos because I would have been so confused once I got to this episode if I was watching on my own. Now I know I’m not alone in that confusion and have an explanation for the sudden weirdness, so my thanks to you and your mods and discord people!

romaniablack

Okay, that feels so good to know I'm not the only one!! Thank you so much for saying that and for the comment and kind words!

romaniablack

Oohhhh, thank you so much for explaining this! I forgot that Uncle Bi’s name was Bi! Thank you! That makes a LOT more sense, so I appreciate the info and the comment!

romaniablack

I'm so glad we can all watch these parts together! Huzzah!! Thank you so much for the comment and kind words and YES - I'm super thankful for the mods and being able to share things on the discord about this! :D

It was so cute seeing the shaman be so elated by Gu Xiang’s love story, he normally seems so serious! When lord seventh talks about how people from the shaman’s homeland will take those they love, I literally picture the shaman just picking up lord seventh like a bag of potatoes and walking off lol

The dramatic rescue entrance! Yesssss! I love that callback to Episode 1 with WKX showing up to help him! <3 I love that description! The fan stained with blood is so striking as well, yes! But I agree, what the heck did ZZS think he was going to do in that moment?! Okay, Han Ying getting the disciples together for ZZS and the Four Seasons and WKX kneeling?! My heart was beating so hard! I just love it so much! And yessss, ZZS feeling like a missing piece coming into place with his soulmate wanting to stay with him!? Ugh. LOVE. That’s fair about the horse ride, though…the bumping all the way would HURT like that, so valid! Ahhh, thank you for the information on Bi Chang and Bi Xingming as well; I’d forgot about ol’ uncle Bi! THE HAIR PIN SCENE IS SO GOOD, right? I just LOVE it! It definitely felt like a proposal! I’m glad the censors extended that Caribbean Cruise! <3 I can’t be mad at them condensing every thing that they did this episode (I’m going to be frustrated this coming week, just to warn you all) but I understand that they only had so much time to do things. I think for THIS episode, it all works really well, especially considering the romance scenes we got in this! CWN is such a ride or die and I love him! I love how he is so loyal and in love with Gu Xiang! I just adore him. I honestly didn’t originally think they were totally “against” one another…I thought it was more - “we could help each other but we’re also trying to hurt each other in the process.” So yeah, I guess we’ll see where that goes! I do appreciate Shen Shen when he’s away from the drama as well! But yeah, the fact that WKX didn’t have the Glazed Armor at the start is great and very in-character for him! Luo Fumeng and her actress is so good and I just love her in that scene! She’s such a great actress and DANG can she eye emote! Yes!! Thank you for the comment and kind words! I just adored the scenes with ZZS and WKX in this episode!

Ahhh, the MOMENTS of ROMANCE were so worth it, yessss! I DEFINITELY panicked and thought I had watched an episode out of order - the first twenty minutes I was sweating internally! Glad to know I’m not the only one! Honestly, yes, they did what they could and I have to thank them for keeping so many romantic moments in this! That is wild about the crew being part of the show at this point! Love that they devoted so much to help make it work! <3 And yes, thank you for not spoiling what there is to see in the novel, haha!! WKX is such a knight in shining armor! I love it! I love the way that he and ZZS are in this episode! THE KNEELING! AHHHH It’s so good! I was over the moon with the emotion and the expressions and the Romance on the screen! I love that ZZS and WKX have this beautiful moment between them! SOULMATES INDEED - ugh, I don’t blame you for gushing about them! And getting men into the four seasons for your soulmate to build the house back up? SWOON! THE HAIRPIN SCENE. LOVED IT! Seriously, how they got through with that is just flabbergasting indeed and I love it so much! The hairpin scene is just *fangirl* worthy to the MAX! This show out here buttering us up! That fact that ZZS joked about a kiss is INSANE - SUCH a FIEND, ZZS is! I adore the chemistry with the Lord Seventh and Great Shaman! They are such great side characters! It’s WILD seeing WKX and SK together! And yessss, they finally meet and they keep so much mystery with their meeting as well! The TragiComic ghost scene is really well done, though, and I love it! They were so sweet together and I loved their care for one another and how it’s all come to this moment! That’s a really good point about him finding out that it’s from Episode 5 that he came to remember and nullify WoOblivion’s effects - such a nice reveal, there! YESSSSS Gong Jun and Zhan Zehan were SOOO GOOD - they went all out with each other here, I agree, and I loved it so much! Thank you for the comment and the kind words - I can’t believe we’re into the final arc of the series, now!

romaniablack

Yesss, seeing him be a little giddy was adorable! And that little tie-in with Lord Seventh - ahh, I just love that -- hahaha, I need fan art of the Great Shaman picking up Lord Seventh like a sack of potatoes STAT! XD Thank you for the comment!
